I have an older Hobie AI, and I've added a furling jib (and have also experimented with a furling spinnaker, like yours). Under optimal conditions, I can do a steady 8 mph and max out at about 10 mph, but it's a white knuckle experience at those speeds. Anyways, great video!
Just wanted to ask....you are not using the Hobie system with a bag on the trampoline but instead a roller furler on the bow. Does this attach to the Hobie mast head swivel and if so is there another swivel at the top. I think this looks like a really good and much less complex system. Also would you dare to use this system upwind or would it put too much strain on the foot of the mast etc. I see you are using it downwind ....is this to be on the safe side and to not stress the mast.
I tried a Tandem Island once, sat in the rear seat like you, found that the hull vibrated and flexed with every wave, did you put weight in the front seat?
@@sailingmark51 Thanks Mark, unfortunately all the GoPro’s after the 5 don’t work with the gopro Quik app anymore. I’ll have to use another software package. Great job though on your part and thank you again for the reply.
This might help in the Quik app edit feature is a logo that says sticker click on it and it should give you speed overlay also when recording make sure your camera gps is on hope this helps
@@sailingmark51 Mark, awesome thank you. Appears the advice I received about only working on the gopro 5 was bogus! Do you know if you can change the speed from kph to knots?
Looking good! Keep the TI videos coming!⛵⛵⛵⛵

Looks like a blast!!!!
Nice sail
Where does your spinnaker go after using it cause couldn’t see the sock 🧦 for it on the trampoline?
Hi Matt the spinnaker stays up on a furler see video on weta trimaran work the same way
@@sailingmark51 more to the point how does it attach to the top of the mast (allowing for the mast to roll and furl as well)? Looking great though.
Hi John spinnaker attached to mast with a standard hobie spinnaker mast fitting hope this helps

Great sailing.
Thanks Tom I have watched a lot of your great weta trimaran videos

I always sit in back seat have not had those issues maybe it was the old design I think it was 2015 plus new design.
@@sailingmark51 It was the older model, maybe they ve improved it since, thnx
Mark, Awesome video and set up. If you don’t mind me asking, how did you do the course and speed overlay? Regards
Hi Tony thank you for your interest I use GoPro black 5 with gps and the GoPro Quik app to get that overlay hope this helps

Sorry, to clarify, all the GoPro’s work with the Quik app just not for overlays except the gopro 5.

Those screecher’s have a very narrow window of operation. Sometimes there a waste of time.
Who cares if you are having fun? Versatility is this crafts middle name. Great sailing OP.
