@@cristobalcaro3392 It wasn't a properly set up one. You must give priority to the cars that are inside the roundabout and "give-way" to those that want to enter it, that's the only way to prevent it from clogging up the way it did in the video.
Frankly with that traffic intensity a well done roundabout with correct lane mathematics and slip lanes would do as good as a job the traffic light does, if not better. Not to mention that if this were to be the real world, the roundabout would be both safer and environmentally friendly. All those big rigs standing still waiting for the light to turn green surely pollute quite the amount. But boring things aside - and me being a fan of traffic lights aesthetics even if they are the past - the intersection looks sick.
I have found that increasing the node size of roundabout connections improves them a lot. As for intersection, same thing applies. A big enough node does the job of slip lanes and are far less messy.
The roundabout wasn't working because you had it setup wrong, the junction priorities were wrong. You could tell that because the traffic on the roundabout was stopping to let more traffic on
The node they are supposed to stop at, does not have enough length to the previous node (the roas segment is too short) to allow the long vehicles to fit on it / stop on it. When they are fully on the road segment there's not space to stop in time (for heavy vehicles) and they'd be past the "stop line" if they tried to stop, so technically they are already in the intersection and must leave it. The only way is forward.
0:50 seeing this roundabout I immediately see "this roundabout is not set up correctly". Set up give-way signs correctly (traffic entering the roundabout has to yield), dedicated turning lanes, not have cars from outside enter blocked junctions (i.e. the standard traffic manager setup for roundabouts) should help a lot here. If it still doesn't work, making the roundabout a bit larger, and maybe three lanes, should help here. Then making the turn angles a bit wider using node controller makes cars slowing down less. Of course, then we wouldn't get to see this nice build.
Mate I’ve literally been coming back to this channel to see if there’s a new uploads for ages. I know it’s not a requirement for you to do this, but we miss you!
Im sorry. I honestly just needed a break. I was feeling very burnt out, also dealing with the passing of a loved one and being sick for a few weeks. But anyway, I will be coming back very soon!
After getting Node Controller mod, big intersections have become a much viable option. That said, my busiest "junction" is still one of my roundabouts in one of my cities .. I must have used some 4-5 hours perfecting the road rules both in the roundabout and up to the roundabout, to maximize the traffic flow - And boy does it move a lot of traffic ! I had to use 5 lane one way roads on the roundabout, just to support the traffic, it's nuts !
If traffic gets bad enough after this intersection. You might want to build a diamond interchange like a DDI or SPUI or maybe a just traditional diamond. I had to do build a traditional diamond to replace a intersection that had awful traffic, I did reduce the traffic by a surprising amount.
It looks superb , I don’t know if there any way that for example when the tram arrives the perpendicular roads has red automaticly like we would say more intelligent traffic lights
You haven't posted in just over a month! Hope you're ok. A name for a sub-city (or whatever you call it) could be Bursaida. Taking Bethsaida a adding you last name to it!
If you had cntrl clicked with the timed traffic light option it would auto set up the traffic light system then all youd have had to do woukd be adjust the timing
The thing about that though is that the auto set up does one direction at a time. Basically all East traffic goes, then all South traffic, then all West traffic, then all North traffic. This is fine and it works great in many cases but sometimes you just want all East/West turns to go first followed by straight through, then all North/South turns, followed by straight traffic. The real difference in which is better depends on the amount of traffic you get from each direction. If you have a massive amount of traffic from the West and very little from the other three, one direction at a time works great because you can extend the duration of the West light to clear out the queue and you're done. If you have a massive amount of East/West through traffic (as I assume will happen here because East/West is the main through road) and only a couple of people turning, one direction at a time is wastefully doubling the time North/South traffic has to wait when you could just do East/West turns for a couple of seconds to let though couple of people turning go, and then East/West through traffic for a good bit to clear out the queue on both sides at the same time, thus halving the time cross traffic spends waiting. Then North/South goes, and you're quickly back to letting all that East/West through traffic go.
@@SamBur I have a similar problem sometimes and I suspect it is due to the second intersection/node with the slip lanes being too close to the traffic light intersection. I think the longer vehicles get confused because they are already in the next intersection before they’ve cleared the first.
It is, and thats why there wasn't so much traffic, all the farm areas couldnt send out more trucks.. I bet those who allready were out were stuck in that mentioned traffic jam 🙄
Hi, maybe here someone will know my problem. After installing park life DLC some kinds of roads just despair. I used some modes and assets from the steam workshop, but now I already uninstall them and reinstall the game but the problem still persists
Bro, my notebook is some sort of monster, I use it in my work with some really heavy softwares for architecture, but, guess what, I just can't handle Cities skylines with mods, like, not even simple ones, I'm kinda feeling like the console players, watching ytb and having that feeling that I want something but can't have it
Regarding junction, I do not like roundabout much, more I like is turbo roundabouts like this: ruclips.net/video/lUBr13uQwMQ/видео.html With/Without light seqments
That is not the problem, the problem is that the other node (with the sliplanes) is too close to the intersection. Vehicles only "see" the color of the traffic light when the first node is further away from the intersection, thus giving plenty of time to stop.

The trucks have automatic engine shutoffs and flywheels for those intersection waits. Surely, Sam would make that a policy in his builds...

Truck passing trough question: Nodes are to close to stop before traffic signals.
Yeah I think that’s the issue

That intersection looks great but one thing is missing is the stop lines at the traffic lights.
beautiful interchange! also love the farm area
I haven't played CS in a very long time. I had no idea road mods had gotten so advanced.
I read this as high capacity intersection.. Was like wtf must learn this intersection that's this good
Do you need a signal head per lane? Why not try putting in the quick set up as a starting point and adjust as necessary.
quick setup is stupid if you adjust afterwards

Awesome intersection, keep up with the good work 🙂
Thank you :)
Thats okay man 🙂🙌
That's nice... Maybe u could do the automatic traffic time and then fix/change what u want, would be much easy to manager complex traffic jam
IMT now also supports adding marks to segments, you can use that to continue the markings between the intersections.
The trucks ignore the traffic light sometimes because it's a bug because of how close the slip lanes are to the intersection.

a bigger 3 lane Roundabout properly setup with TMPE, would done the job ;)

What is the difference between an intersection and an interchange?
intersections are usually at-grade, interchanges are usually grade-separated. Sam accidentally used the wrong word (happens to us all).
