- For my latest woodworking project, I made a wooden Anvil from an Ash log. In this build, I used chainsaws and of course Arbortech Tools! When making this wooden Anvil, the challenge was to make something so familiar to me in the workshop, but have to duplicate with wood! The Arbortech tools made finding the subtle lines in the project easy! www.arbortecht...

Thank you !!
I've been watching Jimmy for years. What I love : never knowing what he will make from what ( bench from a Cadillac or an anvil from a log), his creativity, and the fact he doesn't fake his shots. He has angle grinders vibrating into shots rather than having everything staged like a Hollywood film. It keeps me clicking on his videos to watch a true authentic craftsman.
Can’t wait to see some Damascus walnut blades being made on this thing.
This proves that Jimmy is the DaVinci of woodworking! Just like the old master, he can look at a piece of wood and see what's hidden within! Great work Jimmy........... 👍👍👏👏
Nice anvil. This is how the art of wood smithing was invented.
now you can finally do some proper woodsmithing
😂
Woodsmithing...lol good one! 🤣
In the Finnish language a carpenter is called puuseppä. The word puu means wood, the word seppä means smith = woodsmith
Nice one !
"brownsmithing?"
Nice job, it's a pleasure to watch a craftsman at work!!!
Truly impressed! The anvil is cool but the fact you have all your knuckles after running that grinder attachment that long is simply amazing!
Greetings from Russia . I have been watching this channel for a long time and with pleasure. a lot of interesting and informative. thanks to the channel.
most logical thing I've seen built on this channel.
Clever shot at the end!
Beautifully in proportion to the original & hopefully a testament to the strength of Ash, that it can see off the disease & keep its place in the woodlands. Thanks for sharing!
Awww so cute. I really like that piece of wood.
In this video, Jimmy demonstrates how to use the worlds dullest chainsaws.
Or weakest?
Needs a ripping chain.
Definitely needs practice
@@stevek5988 I know this guy has a big following but all his projects are "arts and craft" type projects.
@@2bigbufords All huh?
It's amazing to think there was a time where someone would have carved a wooden casting pattern like this without power tools to make an anvil
This looks great
Just......well....OUTSTANDING. THANKS JIMMY.
Awesome work Jimmy! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
The only anvil that floats! ah! ah! "Help! i'm drowning!" - "Ok, grab this anvil!"🤩🤩
Thanks for listing the tools you used. Fantastic workmanship as usual.
Truly impressive work, Jimmy! It looks amazing 😍
Love that final shot
Even when his kidding around he pours his heart in to it...Nice job!
Interesting idea! Well done!
Now you have to cast an iron log-shaped base
That would make a good form for casting one, I'm pretty sure this is how foundry pattern shops make their models, just not with as much flair! Nice work Jimmy.
I'd love one of these! Perfect for shaping precious metals when you don't want to stretch or mar them :-D
The manliest coaster I have ever seen
Whit Glass top have a beautiful coffee table....good job ! Compliments from Venice,Italy !
You were so concerned with whether you could, you never stopped to think whether you should.
We are all thinking it now
yah, i've been ripping on this stupid thing all over the comments. Love Diresta but sometimes he just makes the dumbest shit.
@@JOSEPH-vs2gc Art is dumb?
@@rootvalue Is a wooden Anvil even smart? Diresta makes great art, and he makes shit art. He could have built something more useful and artful with that wood. Its just how it works.
@@JOSEPH-vs2gc And why would he do 'more useful and artful' stuff? Just because you think this was 'stupid'? Who cares? That was something he wanted to make (for whatever reason), so he made it, simple as that. Do you do stuff for fun based on how other people would react? That would be a sad life.
You could use the wooden anvil when tooling leather.
Great video as usual. I was glad when you picked up a real saw.
Sometimes a guy just has to make something because you just gotta. Looks awesome man! 😎
Great build! I especially love how the spalting sets it off.
My dude this WOOD be amazing for some leather working! ✌️
Some nice spalting on that log.
super cool!!I got that same battery chain saw pretty neat to not have to deal with dirty carbs after it sits for a year
Gosh that is neat. Beautiful wood and a great project.
What a fun project, pure art and joy of making just to make! Thank you for a truly entertaining project.
waoooo.. it's fantastisc.. thanks jimmy
Fun idea!
Super!!! Sehr schönes Projekt jimmy!!
Leibe Grüße aus Deutschland !!!
Beautiful work as usual!
Huh. There was an anvil hidden in that stump! You found it! good job! Its beautiful as usual!
That piece of wood is more stronger like steel!😉 Good job, Jimmy!👏😄
Based on the weight, an anvil I can afford.
Love it! Up next: fully working bandsaw made of wood.
Wiley E. Coyote would approve! Nice job!
After over a decade of watching this is the first time I see jimmy use Milwaukee tools.
Didn't last long
Cool decoration, you should make a few as business cards.... Or keychains... Awesome work man! Can't wait to hear Andrew rip on it on the podcast!!
I like the outro! Well done!
Been watching your channel long enough lol, @01:50 I knew that was coming and I was waiting for it. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The slop dog paint method could be your signature at this point. I hate painting too buddy.
Great effort, thank you!
That shot at the end 👌
Take that bad boy to a foundry and have some official DiResta Anvils cast!
Can’t wait for you to have those 5 black Diresta shipping containers 👏
Was also looking for those :)
That thing for the grinder is very good.
Looks like the perfect thing to drop on a cartoon character.
🪵a fine piece of ash
I love that kind of project !
Even though battery powered chainsaws are a great idea nothing beats a gas powered one😂 Awesome skills using both the chainsaw and angle grinder Jimmy!
great to display at the entrance to show who is inside 🤟😎
Love it! Now onto a solid aluminum anvil 😉
Beautiful jimmy 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Great job!!!
Well, what can you say, It's different for sure ? Nice Job Bro, See ya
I'm amazed that harbor freight drillmaster angle grinder didn't die! 😁 Don't get me wrong, I have a few with different disks, but i'm not putting them through that duty-cycle Jimmy did with the arbortech cutting head. Then again, it did look like it was trying to commit suicide by chainsaw at 9:14 in the video..
belo trabalho Jimmy!!!!!
That is beautiful.......
You are a Jack of all Trades
So cool Jimmy!!
I could do this too if I had dedicated years to learning how to use tools, building my skills and honing them.
Looks really good.
Must be IRON wood HE HE HE. Happy Trails
Really cool.
Sand cast pattern so you can cast your own brand of anvils?
Oh shoot, that’s clever!
@@Sodabowski agreed
love that battery pack. i just saw rich rebuild make a three wheeled car run off them
Ideal for forging wooden horseshoes. 👍😋
Herzamanki gibi Çok iyi 👍
iyi çalışmalar
I like to imagine all makers do this thing where they wake up in a cold sweat "I NEED TO MAKE A WOODEN ANVIL." and they can't do shit else until they do it.
Worlds coolest foot rest
Another awesome video
That is so cool!
Very cool 😎
Thanks Jimmy, it's beautiful! 👍🌲👍
They are both heavy. But one can float! The SS Anvil
If ya make sure the output on your baby chainsaw is clean it will cut better. Gas ones have the power to keep it clean. The battery ones are cute but they don't have the giddy up to make the chips throw. They build up and also dull the chain/drain the battery faster. Look at the video and you see it build up under the saw.
Looking at the beautiful surroundings, do you ever miss the old shop?..
Almost 2M subscribers!
Awesome 👏 Milwaukee 💕 nice work sir
i like the ending
That's really awesome!
I am from Brazil. 🇧🇷, perfect job!
That would be a great show piece in a Carhartt flagship store 🙌
I’m not creative enough to look at a piece of wood and say to myself “there’s an anvil inside that log”.
makes a good coffee table? frankly i'm not 'creative' enough to know what to do with it.
i'm a basic man: I see wood, i burn it
That grinder sounds like some old hollywood alien language.
The anvil you use to forge the handles of the tools.
Looks just like the Fisher anvil I was able to get a couple months back, totally ordering some of those grinder wheels, The end scene was awesome 👍
It would be very cool if there were things you could make with that. Beautiful piece!
Pensei que você ia fixar a bigorna de ferro em cima da bigorna de madeira!
Parabéns!
Very cool
