    This is a giant gavel I made for LegalEagle here on RUclips! he requested the giant Gavel to use on his channel! I used 4 of the 5 pieces 8/4 ruff cut dried walnut you see me purchase in the video. The cost of the walnut was $720. above average, but to be expected with the current economy
    I used my 12' long Blount Pattern makers lathe I got on Facebook market last year for $1200.

    Freehanding on the table saw! Don’t think I’d be brave enough, I’ve certainly not got the experience. Shows what can be done when you’re used to the tool though. Cheers Jimmy!

    • @Bikeeast
      @Bikeeast 3 года назад +2

      I sort of understand freehanding on a jobsite when you have limited tools. In his shop full of tools, it is a dangerous lazy shortcut, especially with a big powerful saw and a big chunk of wood. Sawstop isn't going to protect you from kickback. To each their own though, He feels comfortable doing it. He already donated one fingertip to a tablesaw didn't he?

    this really made me laugh. when I was in high school, one of the projects we were required to do on the lathe to be "certified" so we could use it without a TA hovering over our shoulder was a gavel. they didn't say how big, so I made one perfectly to scale, but about 5-1/2 inches overall length. so exactly the opposite of this one ;P
