This is absolutely playing from heaven. Beautiful sounds and so together. I can really relate to this as Ive done it as I was in the Rotorua Band in New Zealand ( a very good band in the A Grade) and have played Pie Jesu, but also because Peter came out and played soprano for us at the 1992 Nationals. He certainly inspired and lifted our band and we achieved our best placing (3rd place) in the A Grade. I couldn't believe how good Peter was. Also a very pleasant guy. I reckon he was the best ever soprano cornet player
Perhaps two of the finest exponents of their instruments . Peter Roberts on soprano cornet and the late Iwan Williams on flugel horn . Just beautiful playing .

I'm so delighted i am able to play Soprano cornet too, i really look up to PR and i would be so honored to come even close to 1% of his playing capabilities, bet he's a wonderful man and i'd pay fortunes to get lessons from him, this music really touches the soul! When i play this on my sop i imagine a peaceful oase of happiness and kindness ❤

Love this piece. And a new sweet flavor of brass band. I will never buy a soprano cornet this fancy. But he got it down pat. Flugel too! It is very inspiring to hear the brass choir as well. I'm just listening to it over and over.

I have played this and was conducted by the composer Andrew Webber at All Region Symphonic Band Area A. Sadly we didn't have a soprano or a flugelhorn so it was just normal trumpet
