In my experience TCs are useless against feudal scouts, they never hit anything.It has gotten to the point that I don’t even try to garrison villagers, since it is just a waist of time.
(The only exception is when the enemy sends the scouts by mistake under the TC, it is very clear because it just go straight, no micro)

Jokes aside, Viper stated many times that when he is playing serious, there are only a couple players who could beat him and Hera is definitely one of them.

@@vigilanterorschach2600I love viper and always root for him, but there is no daut that Hera is currently the best player in the world. Not just that but he is the skill peak of all aoe2 players ever.
Viper is still the goat and it's hard to compare players during different time periods but one has to accept these facts. Winning 6 S-Tier tournaments in a row when competition and price pools are at its peak doesn't come from nowhere.
I think a good solution would be giving players a bit more control over tc fire. If you could delay a shot for half a second it would be a lot harder to time the dodging. I briefly tested and unfortunately ungarrisoning and regarrisoning vils doesn't give you the level of control you'd need. The tc either shoots at the same rate if you regarrison right away or there's a significant delay if you wait. It could be as simple as giving players a stop tc fire hotkey/button. I would think then it would be a bit more like mangonel micro where you're trying to time your shot to beat the other player's dodge.
That said, Hera is really good at this and there's nothing stopping other players from doing this other than a need for practice.
This was inevitable and its likely why if anyone ever makes a super advanced ai to play the game it will be almost impossible to hit its units with projectiles. This arrow dodging completely shapes the competitive meta in games like total war where you have fewer things to control.

How do arrow speed of TC looks like compare to full garrison tower or castle?
Oh that would be a good thing to compare! Or even compared to Archers/Xbow. Projectiles can have different speeds.
@@T-West is this true? ._. I never pay attention to that, but mainly because I am not skilled at all. So I rarely change the formation.
If I change the composition to split is also affected? (For example trying to avoid a mangonel impact)
Not sure what you're asking here. The formation has no effect upon the speed of the projectile.

When things are amazing and bad for the game at the same time. This should not be possible and a good showcase how cavalry is dodging defensive arrows.
Unfortunately this is also why it's so tough to deal with raids later on in the game, though ofc at that stage it's way harder to pull off. But it's often enough to just from time to time redirect your cav units in the enemy base and basically all arrows will miss them.
Big respect to Hera for that display, but also showcasing how abusable speed is rn in the game, up to a degree I think we need to think about doing something against that. It's killing balance.

This shouldnt be possible. This wasnt possible before DE regardless of lag. having the safety of the TC early game is an important part of the game. DE just ruined it with the incompetence of the devs.
We were doing this with tcs,towers and castles back on Voobly even with the high ping. Checkmate

Hoping to get some made this summer.
Herdables should not be convertible under TCs, it's stupid that one is able to lame from underneath, and it doesn't add anything exciting to the game.
But this was exciting. If anything, herdable stealing should be encouraged even more. Celts have a bonus to make it easier, so it can't be argued that it's not an intended part of the game. And yet you rarely see it.
TCs not hitting a thing is a problem. Laming is not.
We want more pacifist runs!
This in my opinion is a bad design. Whats the point of TC shooting arrows if it cant hit anything.

Like 17-1800 on DE atm. I have beaten T90 before but he's a much better player. Never played Nili, but he's definitely better. No idea what SotL's Elo would be, never seen him play before.

@@T-West When he played semi seriously, SotL was around 1800-1900 1v1 so you could definitely beat him, not like it matters to anyone, just wanted to clarify things.
I think I saw him around 1700 on the HD Edition, which has a starting point of 1600 compared to 1000 on DE.
i quit the game every time someone does stuff like this.
The more I learn about this game's jank the more glad I am that I don't play it.
