    This piece was composed over 100 years ago, yet listening to this introduction, with it's eery mood, it feels like a musical poem that fits our present time. Beautifully performed. Thank you!!🙏🙏

    As Leonard Bernstein told David Nadien (concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic many years ago - you have that video here on your channel), "Bravo, as always, Daniel Kurganov."

      Also, I have the same webcam light :) cool setup - all the lights against the darkness add a mystic quality. Like the big leafy plant in the corner too.

    Very well played! I grew up listening to my great Dad Oscar Shumsky play this all the time. Looking forward to hearing the Scherzo. Bravo!

    Daniel, wonderful playing. I must know, have you seen the “violin in 5ths” masterclasses?

    • @DanielKurganov
      @DanielKurganov  Год назад +5

      Thanks! Yes I have. Personally I could summarize the value of practicing explicitly in 5ths in about 5 minutes. But I guess we all teach through our own bias, and for Mr. Friend, playing in fifths was important to solve/attempt to solve his problems. The more tools the better, but it’s always a question of which ones need to be used for your specific purpose and how much of your attention they should receive.

    Hey! You give a lot of great PDFs as free scale practice downloads, I was wondering if you have a few for absolute beginners? I suffer from depression and anxiety and need something I can really get my teeth into and block out everything negative in my head.
    Many many thanks for your channel, I love it.

      Hello! I am sorry to hear about your struggles but am glad that you see violin as a potential haven for your mind and soul. I believe it can be that. I don’t have many documents for beginners, and it’s much harder to produce that. There are fabulous teachers out there with those kinds of materials. For example if you go to Mimi Zweig’s site her entire curriculum, with materials and videos is free! Check it out and i wish you all of the best!

    That is a great piece that only string players love. Other musicains do not care for it.
