- A former draftsman and chessmaster in Russia, my grandfather Oleg lives in Chicago. During this trying time of the pandemic, playing music for those from whom we are separated is one of our greatest tools short of visiting them...

Such beautiful, nostalgic and rich playing! One of my favorite Dvorak pieces. Is this your own version? I noticed you didn’t play the Kreisler cadenza and was curious if this is your own arrangement
Thanks so much! I like the original vocal score, but also like the piano writing from Kreisler. So we did a bit of a Frankenstein :)
It's a brilliant and tasteful solution. I've always thought the coda was a bit over the top and distracted from the simplicity of the original song. Bravo on your gorgeous and heartfelt performance!!

Have you looked at the Dvorak-Kreisler version Daniel? Published by N. Simrock- Hamburg.
Yes, this is that edition! However, I made several changes, including removal of Kreisler’s ending, which sounds strange to me. I used the ‘original’ ending instead.

Where can i find the sheets for the piano in the background?
I’m playing off of the original vocal score, basically (with octave adjustments). The piano part is from Fritz Kreisler’s arrangement
