So "their race" is just him talking about the aliens who you just kinda genocided by killing the Nihilanth. The Grunts are clearly manufactured by the Nihilanth's factories, so killing the Nihilanth does anihilate the Grunt race.

We know that G-Man isn't a human. He answered Alyx, in HL Alyx: "Perhaps what i am ...", indicating that he might not even be an alien entity. My theory is that he is a manifestation of some higher power. Like Mothman. A messenger of sorts. He constantly references some "employers" throughout the HL games. I connected the HL storyline with some storylines we can see in H.P. Lovecraft's universe. G-Man can be compared with Nyarlathotep. I have my suspicions that Marc Laidlaw used Chtulhu Mythos and those characters to create some HL characters like a G-Man since some of Laidlaw's books are inspired by the works of such authors. So G-Man can be some sort of an alien deity, a god-like figure. So he is not good, or bad. He just sort of, is. And the entire thing about him is that he can't and shouldn't ever be fully figured out. The human mind shouldn't be able to comprehend such existence. That sort of s. Unfortunately i havent played Alyx yet, however you are right, if taken out of context that lore piece about Nyarlathotep.is quite accurate if applied to the GMan. One thing about this vid I wanted to point out is how the GMan uses human manipulation tactics and even gets offended by Gordon refusing the job
@@supertuna123 Yes. I havent played HL Alyx either, but i did watch the ending speach. G-Man is very interesting game character for me, the most mysterious one in my oppinion. I dont think that he is exactly Nyarlathotep, but for HL universe Laidlow might have used some ideas, or was inspited from the works of H.P Lovecraft. Just like his book The 37-th Mandala that features on the shelf of the Gordon Freeman's locker in HL1. So i wouldnt be surprized if he used these horror sci-fi stories to create the HL universe and its characters like the G-Man. I didnt read to many of the H.P Lovecraft works about Nyarlathotep, but it might worth the shot if i wanted to create some theories about HL, G-Man and its further developments. But in the end, its just a theory.
