Nice Fly! It’s been years flying on a 717. Like how your videos have a consistent simple less is more video style where you feel like you are on the flight, at the same time catching the best views from the plane. Great job!
@@sla31 I just wonder what HA will replace the 717 with. I assume it would be the A321 since HA could rotate those on international/US Mainland /Island hopping similarly to Southwest Airlines and the 737
I love the 717 buzz saw on takeoff. I noticed on a lot of your videos they keep the 717 at climb power for quite a long time. I wonder what the climb rate is on those?
WOWOWOWOW!! Great views for a short flight. I've never been on a 717, will have to do that one of these days. I just finished watching The Bold and The Beautiful and Thomas and Hope are on a short flight as well from LAX to SFO, but they're on a private jet, probably a Gulf. That's another thing I've never done: fly on a private jet.
You and me both on the private jet front haha. Unless you count JSX as a private jet. But I only paid like $149 for that ticket, so I don't know if that counts as private jet money.
No, when I got PreCheck I wasn’t traveling internationally much, and frankly because of the pandemic I didn’t travel internationally much then either. So it’s worked out. When I need to renew I’ll likely get Global Entry because PreCheck is included with it and my credit card will reimburse me for that fee anyway.
I believe it was around 2005 when the eyebrow windows were dropped. By this time Boeing had bought out and merged with McDonnell Douglas. The 717 was, of course, the MD-95 before Boeing bought the program. The 717 is older than most people realize. The 717 in this video was built 22 years ago, in 2001. So, a full 4 years before eyebrow windows were dropped. Hope that helps my friend! Thanks for watching!
No only does Lihue exist, but it's far more beautiful than this video shows. I was on the wrong side of the aircraft to get the good views here. If you really want to see Lihue's stunning beauty, check out this video: ruclips.net/video/f_6aKdQ-kaY/видео.html
This is like the Hawaiian bus line, all these short hops between islands. It's nice.
I been the 717 hawaii airlines the engine was so cool I like the sound of it.
Amazing video! 😄
You gotta love the spool up of those Rolls Royce BR715’s !!😊
Agreed! For such a small engine, they sure pack a ton of great sound!
Great product skyline i love to see these 717s before they are gone thanks as always
Nice one 👍✈️
Thanks for watching my friend!

Thanks my friend. That's my goal here. Just you and the aviation. As pure as possible.
Awesome flight onboard B717-200 N490HA Hawaiian B717-200 look beautiful in Hawaiian Colors. Love B717-200s.
Thanks for watching my friend!
HA loves the 717 which is becoming a rare bird, only other operators are Qantas and Delta.
Yes and all of Delta 717 came from Air Tran
Fly them while they can. Qantas has started retiring them. Hawaiian and Delta won’t be too far behind.

holy hell those engines sound so cool on takeoff
Rolls Royce power on all 717's!
I've booked seat 12A for the same flight so hoping for some awesome views on the left side as well :)
I'm sure you'll have a great flight my friend!

@@sla31 I guess we'll have to become high fashion designers to be able to fly in private jets. :)
@sla31 I might fly on a 717 and flying honu later on the year
Taxi speed 50 knots? ;-)
Giving Southwest a run for their money.
Bet flying on that was about as fun being on the classic MD-80
It is as close as you can get now. Well, there are a few small MD-80 operators still around the world, but not many. So this is next best thing.
One day and my family we're gonna go to the hawaiian islands.
Great fly! Other than TSA PreCheck, do you also have/use NEXUS and/or Global Entry?

Noticed this 717 still had "eyebrow" windows over the cockpit 0:48 I thought those were eliminated years ago.

The older 717s have eyebrow windows. The later 717s they were removed.
What do you use for a camera
I film with iPhones. Currently 14 Pros.
Looks like you're in seat 19F.
Close. 22F.
