  • Part of a series of filmstrip/record combinations sent to dealers, this presentation discusses how easy it is (or should be) to sell the new Ramblers. Packed with information not only for Rambler, but for sales in general. These presentations were delivered on a filmstrip, which the display person would advance manually every time the 16 inch transcription disc beeped. There were a small number that had embedded FSK signals to advance a system automatically, but those were short-lived, because they weren't as reliable as the manual way.

In other words...treat people with respect, and they might well return for more purchases! What a concept!

As a healthcare manager for decades, it could be one of the hardest facts to instill in my employees--that everyone on our side was important to the patients, not just the visible people.

PS--this was the period when many men made a career at a dealership. The last few cars I've bought, the salesmen were really sales boys, obviously dressed and acting as though the job was temporary. Always a red flag when this guy knows their cars better than the salesman!

Back in the days when dealership service wasn't exponentially more expensive than independent mechanics, and when dealership technicians were more than parts chagers.
