Thanks for the vid! What strings/guage do you use? I have the same bass and I want to restring it for the heaviest djent tone I can get but I don't want to snap it in half 😂
In this video I think I had a 45-130 set (either Ernie Ball or D'Addario) tuned to drop A, but in the past I've used strings as thick as 145 for G# without any problems. I've also heard of people using 160 on this bass for whatever reason xD so I don't think you should worry too much about snapping it in half :))
@@GarnooThanks that's great to know. One more question - What's the highest guage you'd recommend if I'm sometimes going to be using it in standard tuning? Full disclosure I have never changed my strings ever 😂
@@paulhurley1670 I wouldn't go heavier than 130, unless you enjoy really tense strings. That being said, I always try to go for lighter gauges because of the brighter tone (anything above 135 tends to sound too dark for my taste)
@@stoneybologna1019I don't remember the exact settings, but a huge part of this sound is achieved by using 3 separate tracks. One of them sits in the center and is treated like a normal bass guitar and the other 2 are panned hard left and right and treated like very low tuned guitars (using the bridge pickup and the Nolly plugin)
@@stoneybologna1019 yes, where you normally record 1 bass and 2 guitar tracks, I ditched the guitars and recorded 2 additional bass tracks that I ran through a guitar amp. You can find the signal chain with links in the description of the video
Great sound!
This is one of the funniest vids so far! GG

@@Garnoowhich Nolly plug in are you talking about? Did you use the Nolly guitar plug in with your bass to pan both left and right?
