Ciao Felipe. Your tone is the most interesting thing for me: very heavy attack but minimal fret buzzing. Maybe the next video should be about your tips and tricks on bass setups? Thank you!
Nice video! I just recently ordered my first ibanez and 5 string bass sr505, i do prefer the SR body shape over the legacy brands like fender. I like the way that ibanez is doing their own thing.
I'm very thankful for the switch to English! I've been a fan of Angra and the individual members for so long, and always wish I knew Portuguese just so I could understand what you guys are saying in lessons and interviews
Obrigado!
Very nice Felipe and congrats on your first -technically speaking second ;-) - video in English ! Would you consider doing a sound comparison video between your basses (BTBs vs SRs vs EHB) so we get an idea of the different sound spectrums these beauties can offer?
Hy Felipe, im a ibanez user, myself. I started with Fender, but after my first soundgear bass from ibanez, i fall instantly in love. The comfort on the kneck and it's sound , is amazing. I play a portamento 5 string( fretless), at the time, but i think, i need a six string, someday. And for little money, you won't find an bass, that sounds better.
Nice shirt! Thanks for this video. It’s really interesting and I appreciate being able to understand the language. Would love to get a transcription book of Temple of Shadows if you’re ever keen to write it.
Awesome content Man..! I met you a few years ago at Namm in Anaheim..! I got a picture with you also..! It’s hanging in my wall of fame... best regards from Arizona 🇺🇸🇲🇽
I wish ibanez offered a longer scale or string through sr for long scale string use. The multiscale one is on my list of stuff to try, but for the cost a used premium sr or btb would be sweet
Wow! I had no idea that was you! The clip you showed where you and Kiko were trading off on solos was one of the first things I ever saw that made me want to start playing bass. I had not ever seen anyone blaze away with three fingers like that. You are a huge inspiration so thank you for everything you do. Its good to be able to express that to you in 2023. Cheers 🍻
Ibanez has been part of my life although for most of it I never owned one. It's about the Black Eagle. I fell in love with it as a teenager and finally, 40 years later, I got one from a very kind guy in a swap. For me it is the holy grail of the bass world. Can't wait to get going with it after the covid band break...!
Thanks for showing your personal collection and sharing the stories behind each one Felipe! I'd like to make a suggestion: why don't you add links to the vendor website for each model and/or to some online store where these fantastic instruments can be acquired? Ps.: Loved this new channel format man, keep doing this fantastic work!
For your BTB 1906SM, the “SM” stands for “Spalted Maple” as that’s what the top is made of :). Back in the day, they made BTB “QM” which were Quilted Maple tops. Hope this helps!
Awesome collection, Felipe 😎🤘🏻🎸 I own 2 Ibanez soundgear basses(one of them is modded with bartolini pickups) and I’ve been treasuring these basses. Especially since I’ve played Ibanez basses for years along with Yamaha and schecter basses.
Cant go wrong with Japanese Basses, I have several Ibanez basses, and a couple Yamaha BBP's...I love them, great necks, great balance and weight, tons of pickup/preamp options with ibanez, and the Yamaha basses are the best feeling basses I have ever played...if you haven't played a Yamaha BBP bass I suggest you try one asap!
Nice video! I did no even know BTB were also from Japan. But not really common. I had BTB400, but long scale was not what I liked that much and neck was little beefier, but not that bad at all. In the end, good instrument. Recently, got old EBX404. Lovely instrument as well. SR500 got special appeal due bass finish there. Without thick layer of paint, i think it resonates really nicely, warmly, openly.
I got my first Ibanez in 1999 - an Ergodyne EDB605. I regret trading that one in! After trying out several other brands, I always go back to Ibanez. They just feel right to me. I am generally an SR guy, as well, but I have owned a BTB and an EHB. But I always tend to gravitate toward the SR series most often.
For the Q&A: Felipe, you're a Bass Hero! With the Composition people in my university (UFRJ) we'd like to analyze some Angra songs. Where can we find the band scores / sheet music / songbooks? (specially Temple of Shadows and Omni)
I ever see yours videos e recognised the 1305 at the wall. My uncle buy a 1305 in 90's. After him death this bass did go to my brother, but it's in my house. Amazing bass! The owner is my brother but I'm trying buy it. Good luck to me! Thanks to share yours history with us. GOD bless you.

What bass do you play in the video “Back on my feet” with Dino.? Love that bass! It’s beautiful.!!!
Im french-canadian; living in the Netherlands, still speak and write French daily. Dont forget your roots; and yt has subtitles, :)

Fear Factory is one of the greatest bands of all time
Now make the list of the basses
I love the BTB series. Originally played a 5 string, but I fell in love with 6 string. So now I only play 6. Really glad I found your channel.
I love Ibanez basses, they're very comfortable to play, they're versitile and I also think they give you the best bang for the buck.
Ibanez for life man
Ciao Felipe. Your tone is the most interesting thing for me: very heavy attack but minimal fret buzzing. Maybe the next video should be about your tips and tricks on bass setups? Thank you!
We definitely need an update to this video.
I think the BTB does with the EQ making thick groove, and also the scale make the work
Morning Star makes my heart rejoice.
You're a legend man! Found your YT channel because of the speed run challenge and now following you from Belgium. Keep it up!
I have been waiting for this moment. Thank you very much for considering someone like myself. Obrigada!
I used to play sr recently switched to btb glad I did
I bought the SRF706 and it has a beautiful range of sound. It can produce anything from a bell tone to a grand piano sound.
Seeing a Felipe's video and then appears a ad from Felipe as well lol too much good
Same hahahah
The red bass at 15 minutes is absolutely beautiful. They all are but this one is my favourite.
Thanks Felipe, amazing content ! I'm glad you take your international audience in consideration from now on ! Cheers from France !
I liked the tone at 16:28. I also love the curved pickup cover on the prestige series.
A foto da Tumblr ficou bem "Game of Bass Thrones".
Nobreza, cara! Respeito. Parabéns
Quite a collection! I've only got 2 Ibanez basses, but I've been playing my SR 755 for about 12 years now!
Haha i also have 2 a +- 1990 rs and a mikro 5 since sept 2020 :)
Love the Devin Townsend Tees too 🔥
That's what I'm talking about, Felipe!! I've been telling you that your English is superb!!
I have that same EHB in TSF finish. Best bass I’ve ever played or owned. Nice collection.
Nice video! I just recently ordered my first ibanez and 5 string bass sr505, i do prefer the SR body shape over the legacy brands like fender. I like the way that ibanez is doing their own thing.
I've had a few ibanez. Had an atk300 and an edb700, both played great, the atk was a little heavy. Now I have an SR600 and I'm in love!
Just ordered prestige
Nice techniques live the mix of metal and funk
14:10 That color is beautiful.
Man, that is an amazing collection! Great video. Thank you for sharing
What song was that, Felipe? (11:16 - 11:38) totally out of the blue, just start to headbanging with!
Ego Painted Grey by Angra
Ibanez Soundgear MIJ player since 1998! Totally enjoyed your video, sir. Ibanez rocks.
Nice! 'm 67 so I'm an old school fender bass player, and I have some gems...but my favorite bass to play is my Ibanez srh500f.
At song at 11:15 is amazing! Love the bass riff and tone, I’ve never come across yourself or your band before, but.. I’m hooked!
I was also 14, in 93, when i bought my rg. Still have it and got a grsm25 2 years ago :)
