Mesopotamia is the homeland of the Assyrians.
The first known mention of the Medes and Persians, around 850 BC. BC, the Assyrian king Shalmaneser III. Attributed to (Sulmanu-asared III.). There is no written evidence written by the Medes themselves, and archaeological finds are limited.
