My Mac heated up all the time when I was mixing and randomly shut off without a warning. So I just did the update and everything just works fine. Every single plugin + my Mac‘s cools down, what it actually didn’t before. So I’m very happy and I wanted to thank you for this video man!
I do post audio for a living, and I've been running ProTools Ultimate on Sequoia with my Intel MBP just fine for a few weeks. My sessions are 400 tracks or so and haven't encountered any show stoppers either. As a safety measure, I make an external boot drive so if there's a huge issue, I can revert to running the previous OS off the internal drive. Thanks for the video!
Really?? I’m also doing post audio for a living, and I really want to upgrade, but I’m terrified it will mess my template up.. as I do have a big gig coming up where I also rent out all my gear. How is it for you now? And what plugin companies do you use?
@@DYNNI.mp3 Cool. I’d say it may be a bit too early to jump on Sequoia full time just yet, although it looks promising. Some plug in developers were recently urging folks to hold off, but a few have given the green light for Sequoia. If you have the additional pressure of renting your equipment out, I’d definitely play it on the safer side, and go with tested and truly compatible SW and OS - Less chance of a showstopper event. My main machine is an M1 Studio Max w 64Gb Ram and 1Tb SSD running Sonoma. I use the intel MBP as a test bed, and take it to the mix theatre for cutting go-backs - fan is too noisy though, and will UG it to an M series by the end of the year. @@kitespongan that's very old, but if it pays the rent then there's no reason to upgrade. And yes, in those time we were forced to buy any OSX upgrades, i bought Lion and Mountain Lion hehe
Some people are just scare to upgrade because they think some programs may not work. But work some reinstalling of some programs you can get everything to work just fine. Thanks for watching 💪🏽
Thanks for the video! Great to know that things are working. Got a major recording next week and I was hesitant to update my main machine. It's such a coincidence. I wrote a song in the 80's called "Ruff (Dawg)"!. It's under the vocalist's name Kam. I believe it's Alex Rave Vol 12. I really lit up when you said your song's name was Dawg also, I'm down with it.......
M2 Mac Studio user here: ah man! i pulled the trigger upgrading after watching this video, everything was all smooth up until i tried to load Pro Tools and i get an error saying app is damaged and can't open. Tried to trash prefs, reinstall old and new software versions. UAD drivers will be the last step I take since my other daws and software works flawless. UPDATE: Downgraded my Pro Tools to 2024.3.1 and now everything opens and works smoothly, including UAD, Waves, Izotope, IK, Slate, Plugin Alliance.
@@Neekzu lol yea tried a different method to record my audio while going through DAWS. I recorded straight through the camera and didn’t notice how bad it was till after uploaded. Thanks for watching 💪🏽

I agree! Unfortunately when I bought my Mac I didn’t have the luxury of waiting for a custom version so I ended up settling with the base model with 16gb of ram and so far it’s been kickin with barely any fan noise.
This is nothing new and the rule is if you don't need to update just don't do it..... Common knowledge.... I was just thinking about checking Sanoma but noticed Sequoia was already in place. Can any music producer tell me why the fuck you would upgrade to the latest OS ?
Probably because most of the features may appeal to you like some of the new AI features that are coming to Mac it may be useful to you in other areas. Thanks for watching.💪🏽
My issue is that everything on my computer basically starts to crack, like the sound on RUclips, FL studio, netlfix etc. All the sounds just start to crackle if I don't upgrade. fkn hate it.
LIKE THE VIDEO GANG!

Very well done video, will keep that in mind before & after updating 🙏 got a new follower now
I appreciate the support gang. Thanks for watching.💪🏽
I NEVER upgrade until version X.1... Too many risk of things going wrong and I'd rather err on the safe side.

you on M1? how'd you get those AIR plugins to work?
Yes I am. I reinstalled my audio drivers by filling uninstalling them first. Thanks for watching 💪🏽
What if I work with some cracked plugins & daws?
Personally I would wait until the next update of Sequoia. Plus, it's always different if you don't have the original licensed versions.
