@@fredsgarage1925 when my wife saw them she loved the idea. I had a heavily modified WRX and one of those mods was sequential turns in the mirrors. Really surprised Ford doesn’t have something like that.
Fred, Love your videos, the plastic covering on the connectors is to be melted using aa hair dryer or lighter to keep the connector hermetically sealed
Thanks, I wasn’t sure if it was heat shrink or not. Trust me after 9 months of having them on and about 1 trillion degrees here in Florida this summer, they are probably shrunk. I’ll check once I get home. Hey, have a great holiday weekend.

Are these lights actually waterproof or are you having issues like a lot of the reviews are showing with condensation?
I don’t think that they are waterproof. I have had mine on since January. I also live in Florida where there is a lot of humidity and rain. Mine are bone dry. If you watch the beginning of my seat cover video, I show a close up of the lights last month. The one thing that I do not do is go through the car wash. So that might be why some people have water in there lights. I love the looks of mine and I have had any issues. Good luck, with your decision.

Fred, I have a '24 XLT. I want to purchase these lights, but they have so many negative reviews. Your video is 4 months old now. Has your son had any issues? I belong to a carwash club and run my Maverick through about ever other day and I'm worried about moisture.
Hello, I love my lighted I have had them on form5 and on6 months. I don’t go through the car wash but I live in Florida which gets sun almost daily. It’s a tough decision, a lot of people just stay Lucien the back. Good luck in what ever you decide.
In the future if you want to remove the lights and have to unclip the wires from the headlight wires, would your headlights still work since I assume these clips cuts the wrapping around the wire.
@@shahidkhan-uq9mm yes, it will still work. All you would have to do if you remove the clips are add either a little electrical tape or even better a drop of liquid electrical tape.

I have had mine for almost a year, they have been outside through two hurricanes, 3 coming this week and have been working perfectly. Only advice I can give is take your time with the wiring clips. A lot of people do not splice into the wire and then have a tough time finding the issue. Good luck, it’s well worth it.

Just another question, I saw some reviews stating that condensation gets into the housing of the lights, have you had any issues like these? I just installed mine, I didn’t use the included clips for connections, I actually did proper wiring and used heat shrink. Your video helped a lot on the wiring diagram though. And the lights looked amazing at the end.
You’re way of connecting the wires are much better. Water intrusion, I do not use car washes. I honestly believe that is the reason. I live in Clearwater Beach. My truck stays outside full time. It’s been through 2 hurricanes and 2 tropical storm’s plus weekly down pours. My lights have always worked perfectly and do not have any condensation in them. I am evacuating in a couple of hours and will definitely need you prayers for this Hurricane. Milton is looking like a 1 in 100 year storm.
A lot of people on the Maverick Forums are saying these are getting water intrusion and end up not working. Do you see moisture in your set yet?
I have not. I just posted a short a few weeks back showing mine and I also show them in my seat cover video. Now I believe that it’s is either a bad batch, frozen winter weather or caused by car washes. I don’t really know. I also live in Florida where there is high humidity and a lot of rain. So all I can say is that mine have been perfect. Good luck in your decision and if you have any questions, ask.
Mine lasted to just after amazon return then they filled up. now the one side doesnt work at all. prettyr bad for around 3 mos.

It’s been through a bad hurricane and weekly rains. Not to mention 1000 degree summers and I don’t have any water in mine. I wish I could figure out why it happens to some people. Wish you the best.

I can’t confirm the wiring on a lariat because I have a XL. If you look in the comments, there must be dozens of people that have done it to a lariat.
I have a 24 XLT Hybrid and installed these while watching your video. Great video however my side markers only work with the headlights but not the turn signal, any suggestions? Thanks
Yes, I would double check the red splicer on he directional wire. A lot of times they don’t full make contact. A easy way to check is with a test like that. If you don’t have a test light. Then use a pi ce of extra wire and connect the he passenger wire o the drivers side. This way when you turn on the driver side you can verify that the passenger light works. Then you know it’s the red splicer. Let me know how you made out.
@@fredsgarage1925 excellent advice, took care of the issue and they are working great. The red slicers hadn’t made a connection. Scraped back a little of the insulation, reinstalled and they fired up. Thanks again.

Hi I was told that water was getting into the lights when it rains or go htrough the car wash, have you found this to be so, if yes what was your solution. thank you.
Hi, I have had mine on for several month’s. I also live in Florida where it has high humidity and rains a lot. I have not had any water behind the lenses. If you want watch the beginning of my seat cover video, I film a up close view of my lights. I do not go through the car wash. That is probably where the issue is. I love the lights personality.

Hi, I have not had any issues with water getting into the lights, I live in Florida where when it rains it rains severely. I do wash my truck at honme once a week. I do not take the truck to car washes. I really never have. So I believe that the water issue some people are having is because of automatic car washes? I think I’ll post on facebook and see what people say.

I like the lights a lot. Sadly, not enough to give up the automatic car wash.
I saw quite a few people more than 5 on the Maverick forum that had them installed and had issues with moisture getting inside and ruing them.
I wouldn't buy these, not worth the trouble or issues, unless they do a better job making sure they're sealed properly.
If I wanted to have the DRL function of the side light come on only with the front amber running light, would I run the red wire on the side light to the blue wire on the turn signal connector?

Yes, should be 100% correct.
I like the lights but I dont want to lose my XLT.

Yes, that’s what makes the Maverick so great, we all decide how to modify it to make it your own. Some people want 2 inch lifts and some people want to lower it by 2 inches. If you like the XLT, that’s great. Just make it your own.
What's the trick to keep condensation out?
Hi if you look at the first couple of minutes of this video I show up close of the lights. I haven’t had any issues. I personally believe that the issue is rather a bad batch or car washes, that causes the water in the lenses. Honestly a lot of people says that it happens but I’ve only seen 1 photo. Ford Maverick, silver & white seat covers by Mabett. . Will be back in stock June 1st. Link below

How do I make it so they only light up for turn signal and not always on
All you have to do now s disconnect the red wire. Then it will only connect me on with the turn signal. Let me know how you make this it.
Hi, can anyone help me please? I don’t know how to put the metal piece into the red plastic part. This is the first time I have tried anything like this. Any help would surely be appreciated. Thank you.😢
Ok sure I can help. So did you add the red ( scotch-lock ) to the appropriate wires? Just make sure that when the red scotch lock is open that the wire is inside the grove like I show in the video. Now take the metal piece and you will see a slot in the end of the red scotch lock push the metal piece in that slot until it is fully seated. Then check that the lights work. If one light is not full seated or the wire is not fully contacted within the wire the light won’t work. I hope this makes sense. I also have issues with moisture in both sets ( I have 2 Mavericks) of side lights, but only on the passenger side.
Has anyone found a resolve?
It’s very sad to hear that. I haven’t had the issue. I do know that some people have popped them out and used Silicone caulk around the seams and screws to help prevent this. I wonder if they had a bad batch?

@@stevewalter9504 That’s a good idea! I might try that. It just seems a shame that you pay money for a product that you end up having to modify because of poor workmanship. The driver sides (i have 2 mavericks) are holding up great! I puzzled about what the difference is with the passenger sides.
@sandyramsdell601 as far as the lights go, it’s just the wiring. I think a lot of non water issues are, the wire scotch lock wire connector has be be installed probably and have to make a good connection. Also the passenger side ground is a little tricky. But I’ve had mine on for a while now and love the lights. I believe it definitely cuts down on accidents, be cause you would have to be blind not to notice the side of the truck now.
I now see why you didn't show the passenger side install, what a bitch that was trying to fine a ground that didn't have a grommet under it. I didn't have a 8mm wrench so that took some time to go to the store. It took me 2hr. to install the passenger side and 30 minutes for the drivers side. Thanks for the color guide of the wires since Mabett didn't supply the instructions. Also, Mabett sent the connectors without being connected. That required different connectors all together.
