You've convinced me now to cover every room in my apartment with these panels so I can live inside my very own spaceship 😂
Gotta love the budget sci-fi aesthetic.
It's like Starship Troopers where there's walls made out of RidgeRests everywhere
hahah nice
I've used 'to-go' food containers to hang on sci-fi wall sets. Just make sure you use acrylic paint that won't melt the styrofoam when you spray it on.
I love these set ideas…thinking outside the box, with great results! 😁👍
thx Dave!
I did a double-take - thought you were Jack Black for a sec!
Just found your channel - happy I did!
LOL
Okay now I want a couple of these for diorama build
That would be great for a basement " gaming room" wall...
110%
Yes!!!
That sure is a nice material for a panel. Very industrial looking, takes a dry brush well too by looks of it. I've commented below a greeble panel (made from scrap plastic) over the logo would look good.
saw that thx!
Cheap, fast, & good! Congratulations sir! You've done the impossible !
Sweet idea. I want to do a scifi room build for my game room, and this is a great idea for running along the top and bottom of all the walls. Thanks, keep up the good work!!!
perfect for that and thx
I use these panels as a backdrop for my RUclips intro and outtro videos.
so cool
Very simple and very cool.
Spray paint it with 'hammered metal' spray paint and you can almost avoid dry- brushing entirely.
Your videos are always a fun time.
Thanks for saying !
Hoping to use some of your ideas in a puppet music video. Cool ideas you have. This one is really cost effective. I was actually thinking if you put these at a 45 degree angle it might make for a different wall scene. Thanks always for your fun videos.
love that!
Its even cheaper when you consider the total square footage covered and the small amount of time to create a wall or background!
for sure
Brother, you're very creative. Great work!
You make me want to get some friends together and do stuff like this. 😄
I think I might give that a try for one of my backgrounds.
for sure
*another possible source of material for prop builds or background clutter would be broken tail light fragments on cars you see at intersections or in junk yards or body work shops...the uneven pieces would give an interesting chaotic alien aesthetic especially if lit from the back with fairy lights...junk yards and recycle drop off centers are amazing places if you are allowed to glean through them and then buy the discarded bits by their weight*
great idea
@@createscifi *thank you*
Have you ever approached one of these plastic container manufacturers to see if they’d sell you a large piece of un cut vac formed plastic with container shapes or even their scrap sheets?
no but cool idea
I like that very cool I like to redo my own room like that.
Would you suggest maybe putting a sticker or tape over the "provent" logo and painting them with flat paint? Or do you have a better suggestion?
I'd add a small greeble panel over that logo, just made with bottle tops and scrap plastic, painted black and dry brushed. Or even a small LED light (T candle light?) made to look like a small control or sensor.
If it is a concern for you the solution is easy. I'd just sacrifice one to cut up for little patches. But for me These are sets and always in the background out of focus. I've used them many times and its never been an issue. But I hear ya I'd suggest cutting little patches from aa sacrificial panel. If I were using these say for a scifi man cave or cosplay background with flash photography it defiantly would be a good idea to cover them. Good conversation, thx David :)
Those panels are so genius! They could be copper panels - bronze, silver - they look solid! They have great shapes and if you so desired, you could use them as molds for epoxy pouring! 😉 Use proper ventilation, please.
yes yes yes , cool right :0
@@createscifiso cool! I just returned to watch this just for fun.
My thing is electronics but I really admire room and panel builders.
Thats really cool man.
This was another fanatic episode. 🤘
I never would have considered those parts before. And seeing them, I never thought they were under $4 a piece. Amazing.
Thank you for what you do and share.
Be Excellent and Party on. 🤘🎸😎🌈
cool and thx
So I know it would be more work, and more expensive but I'm curious what that would look like with the gloss back/ graphite powder treatment.
good idea
Thank you for sharing all of these great ideas!!
You really show how you can create a believable effect by thinking out of the box. You really inspire me and help me out when I feel like I got no more ideas.
They actually used these on the show Loki when they go to the doomed planet. Loki tries to fast-talk an old woman and she shoots him. Look behind her and you'll see these rafter vents!
Nice. Just mite renew my craft room.
you should!
Fantastic I have been looking for a light weight solution for my Basment ceiling
Boom!
Great work!
Thx !
This would work for so many different background designs elements. An excellent find and demonstration. Thanks for sharing!
Thx !
Genius
Thank you for the inspiration :)
Great stuff!
Thx
Love it gives me a great idea to decorate my workshop with.
Fantastic use of materials! I think I'm going to do this along the wall of my workshop that has the door to my 3d printing room.. All across the wall and door, the door would blend in and be basically hidden.
The only thing that bothers me in these vids is the lack of lenses in the glasses. Lol. Not sure why.
LOL
I'm soooo using this. Now how about the sliding doors?
What a great idea for set decoration. 👏👏👏
Thanks for making these videos Anthony.
yesss
I love this❤
me too!
Sweet.
Thx A
Great tip, thank you very much. I will surely utilize this method of fast set wall creation.
Right on
Hello ! I am French, I want to say congratulations for the idea and for the application! It's awesome !
I would like to have these parts too "proVent Provent 22-in x 48-in Rafter Vents" but we do not have Lowe's stores in France, and they do not do shipping on their site.
I'm desperately looking but unable to find any, do you have a site or a way to order them internationally? (towards France)
Thank you for your Help !
trick i learned, paint the block of staples BEFORE you load the staple gun. then you don't have to paint them afterwards
great tip!
What are those panels called again? I want to see if I can order them on Amazon.
I'd like to see what you could do with a 3D pen. You can them for pretty cheap, and it could be a great way to add little detaiils and greeblies!
cool idea
Awesome material, thanks for the tips
for sure
Frustratingly no equivalent to the vent sheeting in Australia
Nice
Thx !
Boomshanka! "May the seed of your loins be fruitful in the belly of your woman!"
👍
thx
Of course.. Home Depot Canada doesn't sell them. No surprise there.
Some don't have them and for some reason online Home Depot only sells cases . But i found a Lows link for single ones online its in the description. www.lowes.com/pd/proVent-Provent-22-in-x-48-in-Rafter-Vents/3032768
