I saw a guy earlier this year made a crashed spaceship diorama from dollar store water guns. Now I'm watching a guy make an epic double barrel blaster with dollar store toys and a saw? DOLLAR STORE GOT THE GOOD STUFF MAN HELL YEAH
This is by far one of my favorite RUclips channels. Your passion for building and creating sci-if props is extraordinary and contagious. After every video, I want to go to the nearest dollar store and see what goodies await. Thank you for such great content!
That’s a cool little double barrel pistol. I have a prop from my animation character I have been redesigning for years, a camera /gun , that I would love to build. Maybe next year when I retire!
Wow - this is so impressive! I like to get creative with cheap stuff for crafting, but I never would have thought of that sawblade as the handle - genius!
The pistols with the red muzzles, look exactly like the blasters from the 1970's 'Buck Rogers' TV show. Your finished blaster prop is seriously cool. Nice one. 👍👍👍
Only halfway through the video at the moment: and I think this is one of your best builds yet. Really cool result from using the saw handle. I'd love to see you put some electronics in these so they light up.
the youtube algorithm finally recommended me a good video this was a great watch and I'm not much of a maker but i am inspired to make a dollar store blaster now lmao
Such an interesting blaster. I was a bit skeptical about the pic rail on the sides, but it’s so unique and believable at the end that I ended up formulating a back story about how this blaster could be holstered in my head. Very neat work.
Nice!!! I did a bunch of Star Wars and Battlestar guns back in the late '70's and early '80's. Was looking forward to getting back into it a bit with a few things, just for fun. Glad your channel showed up on my feed!!! Looking forward to digging thru what you've done, thanks for lighting the fires again!!!
For nooks and hard to sand places a lot of times ill use 3M spot puttu or squadron putty, it doesn't kick as hard as bondo and easier to sand down. But you will have to seal over it.
It's been a couple of years since I came across your channel/site/whatever, I liked a short movie you did so much that I shared it with a niece of mine (who's in her early forties(?) and Renee is a Star Wars nut (original 70's and 80's trilogy only, she doesn't consider the other stuff canon), she Loved Loved Loved your video, and so do I. Anyway, I am super glad I've found you again, your laughter is infectious, it cracks us both up, and we feel that you're not just creating sci-fi but that you're creating sci-fi fun! So I don't lose you again I've just subsribed and look forward to checking out (bingeing) on your other videos. This Blaster is inspirational. Keep On Having Fun, Carlos.
That is fantastic. And you are 100 % right about the flat surface glueing. I experienced that the hard way with the thin part of a Boba Fett rocket. I used superglue, and it survived everything. All of the photoshoots, the transport to the con. Then I noticed that I forgot to put my battery for the blinking chest thingy. I went back to my car - jetpack on. Opened the car lid - and snap. What a great guillotine! After that, I tried to reglue it with superglue. No chance. At home, I decided to go for a threaded metal rod and epoxy glue. Seems much more stable now. But of course I still have to be mindful of doors and such.
Smacking props into doors is part of a rich Star Wars' tradition; just look at that Stormtrooper walking in to the door in the Death Star Trash Compactor scene. 😆
This video came up on my RUclips homepag and I loved it. A great looking blaster. I have not heard of this channel before, or know anything about it, however, this video alone has earned this guy a new subscriber.
@@createscifi You're welcome and also, have you looked into the Zuru X-Shot Micro Fast Fill water blaster. Those ones look like Deckard's PKD LAPD Blaater.
Great video Anthony it's been a long time I love watching your videos they inspire me please keep them coming I know you're busy man. Take care my friend.
I’m glad that you’re not my neighbor 😅, I would never go to work or get anything done at home ….wow this is awesome !! I have hard enough time getting out of my basement as it is . I’m a 54 year old STAR WARS super nerd and building/creating and or kit passion is my passion…next to my wife and daughter of coarse….🤔 ok ok moving on lol , thanks for turning me on to a new source for future projects, I subscribed this morning and am going to stay tuned…✝️🇺🇸🅰️🤙🏻
Two jobs ago, the drama department used stuff called Durham's Rock Hard Water Putty to fill gaps and mold shapes. It's water based, doesn't have any real odor, and I think is cheap. I don't know if it would substitute for Bondo or not. Takes a long time to dry ( day or so). The Dollar Tree has a lot of cool stuff......
That looks dope. How would you go about making it heavier? I always thought that making your prop weapon as heavy as the real thing is what really sells it.
Stick fishing weights with a copious amount of hot glue in the handle or the chamber (center the mass to those parts, don't weight the barrel, that just make it unwieldy and more difficult for the actor) .
I find that no matter how much I improve my arsenal of tools and materials, the best tools I have are still the ones at the end of my arms. So no... you're not a weirdo for using your fingers to spread those various pastes. Also, my go-to undercoat of late has been a rattle-can of Army Painter Plate Mail Metal. Army Painter's a good brand... comparable to Citadel, and cheaper to boot.
@@createscifi Army Painter washes are pretty aces... got a bottle of Strong Tone, which works just as well as Citadel's Agrax Earthshade if not better.
I read a Doctor Who 'New Adventures' book in the early 1990's, which featured a galactic criminal called Sheldukher. One of his thugs had a highly illegal energy weapon, called a 'Moosehead Repeater'. The USP of this gun, was that it was ridiculously powerful - to the point where it was able to destroy satellites in orbit, or small spacecraft carrying, say, law enforcement personnel. This thing is the size of a large rifle. It'd be awesome to make something like that.
I saw a guy earlier this year made a crashed spaceship diorama from dollar store water guns. Now I'm watching a guy make an epic double barrel blaster with dollar store toys and a saw? DOLLAR STORE GOT THE GOOD STUFF MAN HELL YEAH

Good to see that $ store blaster builds still have a place in your heart.
yup :)
Right? I agree... Its easy to get sidetracked when working on other projects.
Plenty of carbon scoring...this weapon has seen a lot of action 😍😍

Really like the idea of $ Store tools for handles, so many different choices.

I think you could do a third barrel on top instead of the sight of all your builds this is my favourite
I get some real 80s Buck Rogers vibes from this, very cool build!
haha nice
A maker after my own heart. Much love bro.

If I ever could, would love to make a Sci-fi film!
you can !
I made a lil precision sander by glueing a small disc of sandpaper to the replaceable head of an electric toothbrush. Works well.

Maybe try using a nail drill with a file attachment to sand those small areas.
this is great, but did you not add a trigger on purpose? 👍
yeah its fantasy so no trigger you just squeeze
Do you add weight to the interior?

squeeze the handle
@@createscifi risky though if you have to grip the handle to hold it, high potential for misfires :)

I add lead fishing sinkers - this one was pretty heavy so I didn;t

This blaster reminds of the double barrel proton gun that Julie-Su had in the Sonic Comics
cool
Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid. Han Solo. Love the blaster.
you know it
Does Bondo add much weight to the prop? I've previously used Milliput for such jobs.
a bit
Love your channel I was wondering if you did commissions I was trying to get a light saber rifle created the one that Jocosta nu used
It looks oddly similar to the pistol used by Scout Troopers in Return of the Jedi. Maybe a heavier variant of the same blaster?
maybe
