So Modeling Weekly put out a video called "5 tips for saving money as a modeller!" one of them was that you can use cellulose thinner from the hardware store as a replacement for Tamia extra thin plastic glue, that a good option for bonding polystyrene and some other plastics in the future.
Also if you want a more baroque Metabarons esq look to something like this you can get a decorative perforated metal at the hardware store (for vent covering I think) that would serve the same purpose as the round perforated plate or the granny grating.

I can 100 % confirm the epoxy versus superglue thing. I had my Mandalorian gauntlet held together with superglue. During trooping, several bits and pieces came loose. Luckily, nothing went missing. Somebody in our group recommended using epoxy glue instead of superglue. I never heard of it before, so I googled it and got some. I now use epoxy glue for that kind of glueing, will never go back. I used Apoxy Sculpt (excellent, very tough air-drying modelling clay) a lot for statues and action figures, but if you put a little here and there, things become really heavy. So I did not use that for my armour parts. But superglue has a tendency to give in in the very worst moments.

Very nice,, you did a great job, a bit busy for my tastes, but great job never the less. I n the past few years or so, I've really gotten into junk crafting; thanks to a co-worker, I now start collecting all sorts of random bits and pieces with the idea that I might use them something down the line.
Regarding Harbor Freight, even if there isn't one nearby, you can order from them online. But, it might be cheaper to just order something similar from Amazon.
BTW, here's a technique that I like to use a lot for weathering, particularly when I want to simulate paint of finished that's been gradually rubbed off over time. What I do is , after rpiming, I spray a base coat of silver (or gold if you want the base "material" to be gold or brass), Then once you're done painting whatever color or colors you want the object to be, I'll then go over the areas that I want to look worn with a piece of 0000 steel wool. I go over it lightly and it will gradually sand away the top coat and start exposing the base coat underneath. The great thing about this technique is that it's really easy to control the amount of the amount of base coat you want showing. And, in my opinion, it gives a very realistic worn/rubbed off look to the are that you've sanded because the steel wool is fine enough that it doesn't leave any tell tale sanding marks.

Brilliant stuff, had a Blake's 7 vibe about it. We don't have Harbour Freight here in England (at least not yet anyway lol) and we do have your equivalent to the Dollar store called Poundland but they don't usually stock stuff like that and things online can be a bit expensive. Still a great job though

*if you ever have a need for it fragments of chainmaile can add a nice niche texture to any costume or post apocalyptic dystopian dieselpunk setting...i've used #10 split ring washers in the past and have several chains made of it using double link assembly techniques...have to be careful about not getting it near the face or eyes as the zinc oxide plating can flake off and that's not good..but there are sites that sell the premade rings and are professionally made and reliable and available in many sizes and materials*
