I was there as a 11 year old city fan. The atmosphere when we equalized was unbelievable! The old wembley was an amazing ground. There was a mystic about the place, the history of the place was seeped into the very concrete. The feeling of going to wembley I don't think can be the same these days. As a kid seeing the twin towers from a distance was an amazing feeling.
Absolutely. I was there as a 15 year old Swindon Town fan, the old Wembley was magic. (Swindon undefeated at old Wembley) The new Wembley just isn't the same (Nothing to do with the fact we've been there three times, lost three times and not scored a single goal! :) )
Was there as a 10 year old Swindon Town fan. I don’t know how you can call us cheats. We played some beautiful football, just as we had done for that entire season. Our passing game was the best in the league that season. At 3-0 we never expected a comeback to 3-3. It was an amazing comeback, I still remember the feeling to this day when Leicester’s 3rd went in. Leicester played such brilliant football, and in the end it came down to a penalty, but unless you were there you will never truly understand how special of a game it was, the best atmosphere of any game I’ve ever been to.
When Leicester equalised there was only going to be one winner and then a hopeful punt upfield and Swindon forward in the centre of two defenders and goalkeeper, isn’t touched by any of them and dives
@@nickthefox72 actually it was Craig Maskell who was offside, Shaun Taylor scored the header, Maskell didn't touch it so it was 100% onside. As for Steve White's dive, yeah unfortunately that's what he was brought on to do but I wouldn't say it was anywhere near the worst in football history. You can't take anything away from Swindon's first 2 goals from Hoddle and Maskell, they were superb. Leicester had the last laugh in the long run, a far better Premiership record than Swindon's.
I was there. I'm a Leicester fan, and when Steve Thompson scored our 3rd the celebrations and noise were off the scale. When I see the penalty decision it still hurts. I think VAR may have called a dive by White.
@@davidstaynings745 funny that NON of the Swindon players including the keeper thought it was a foul at the time? Should Joachim just move out of his way? haha. Swindon deserve to be where they are now for the state of that dive. Karma.
Michael Bateman well, it probably wasn’t a foul in those days but it certainly would be now. No, he doesn’t have to get out of the way but he deliberately impedes him. Sorry, but if you’re claiming it wasn’t a penalty then I can certainly make a case for Joachim’s foul. Anyway, who’s cares, we won, I had the best day ever. Unlucky!
@@davidstaynings9714 it's ok, i can live with the disappointment that day after what we have achieved in recent years. go look again at the behind the goal view of the penalty, not in this video. absolute comical dive. not sure how you can argue something is a foul when it wasn't a foul at the time in that era of football?
Really though, where is Claridge scoring in the very last minute of extra time or Steve Walsh scoring with 3 minutes left against local rivals after being out with injury for 9 months and us losing 2 successive play-off finals? They are the greatest play-off stories, period. Why don't educate the Sky generation and upload them?
Disappointed by the latter part of this comment, I was overjoyed when Leicester won the Premiership, even though I don't support them, there is no need to be so negative about a side just because you lost to them, dodgy decision or not some 20 plus years ago!
Biggest dive ever for the penalty at the end
Best playoff final ever! Better even than 98

Biggest dive in the history of football for Swindon’s penalty
And the third goal an attacker was 3 yards offside

One of the greatest games I’d ever watched at that stage.

Derek C or the clear foul by Joachim on the keeper for your second goal. That’s more of a terrible decision than giving the penalty
@@davidstaynings745 The behind the goal camera, shows the keeper pushing Joachim out of the way so he can get to Walsh.

I was there. Daylight robbery again! Olympic standard diving from White. Two and a half somersault pike with 3.5 tariff. Hoddle was class though.
What a great game
Despite this setback, I predict big things to come for Leicester City ! 🦊
Yeah how the tables have turned look at Swindon now

Blatant dive by White but Swindon completely dominated apart from a 15 minute spell.
I was supposed to be studying for my Inter Cert and then this came on. What a game.
It was 1992/93 season the description has been wrong all this time 🤣 93/94 was Derby v Leicester
Isn't this the end of 92/93 season?
I think the post is misinformed.
yes, 1993
i used to love the play off final bank holiday monday itv greaat times

Never a penalty. LCFC
Amazing day.
Is no one gonna talk about Jeremy Beadle playing for Swindon?
Shame Bodin couldn't do that against Romania!
shame about the worst dive you are likely to see deciding such a great game, glad Swindon got relegated immediately and are now nowhere
spaace They Are Ninth In League Two. FYI.
David Cashell now we’re 2 nd game in hand
Spot on.
