- this was an awesome morning flight (9/7/22). The air was mostly calm there was a bit of wind the higher I went but was early enuf I didn't have any thermals. It also started out with very light fog but not enuf to hinder my visual. I played around with some more low flying and had a few times where I would nose down and gain a bunch of speed and pull up sort of quick and get that zero-gravity feeling that was a lot of fun. I made shure to stay up enuf so that if I would stall, I could lose some altitude and still be ok. If I can fly this quicksilver without training so can you. Don't rush it though you'll know when you're ready one step at a time. fly safe but definitely fly often.
Is that black tube with the red on one end a ballistic parachute? If so, how does able to deploy without getting tangled in the prop?
Ya its mounted on the left side of the axel and points down and away. If there is an emergency the proper protocol is to shut off engine. But I think the way its set up it should work even if engine happens to be running. I've contemplated removing it all together now that I'm more confident. I was worried about my wings collapsing when I first started lol
@@jordonweets If it were me, I would just leave it. Never know what can happen unless the extra weight is an issue. What if a bolt works lose on the air frame would make one hell of a video if you ever had to use it.
How close to sunrise do you tend to fly?
Right at sunrise if I can and In the evening I go till the very last minute lol I think I'm going up tonight. It rained and i was told it's normally very calm after a rain storm.
