Great advices. One thing about logbooks. It is a great thing to keep a separate logbook on your motor, note everything you do, every service, everytime you check through etc etc and when it comes time to sell you pass on that logbook to the new owner. It will give the new owner confidence of what he/she is paying for.
I love the magnet GP to the wing idea! I'll do that to a Session4. If you ever get to meet Tony Qualentone in Wisconsin he's a PPG pilot and a way cool guy.
Great video Marc. I haven't flown yet, still learning and taking it all in, but you have some great tips, and this video definitely warrants more views. Subscribed. Also, sweet fanny pack bro. Keep rockin' it.
I carry my extras in a roller type small back pack. I'm lazy so just pull the handle up and drag it along! I'm working on replacing those little hard wheels with bigger pneumatic ones for easier pulling in dirt and grass. Thanks for the tips from a still waiting on Santa to put a PPG under the tree!
I will give you a better idea than then basket, I use this for my both my professional fireworks gear and my chainsaw gear. Get a 5 gallon bucket. Get a piece of plywood and either cut out a piece a wee bit bigger than the lid and use wood screws and screw it to the lid or if getting the lid on and off it too much of a PITA, use two pieces of plywood, one that fits in the bucket and one that fits over it. Once you have the wood lid, use some foam and leather or what now (curb surf for an old couch or chair) and tack that on top. Now you have a nice watertight bucket to stow your gear in, and you have a nice comfortable place to sit.
Nice video. Coming from the cave diving community beware of those carabiners that you have on your throttle. We call any self opening clip a “suicide clip”. Lines can find their way into it passively. Use a bolt snap instead. Happy flying!
Jack Burton Thanks Jack, that's a good call. I took one off my throttle handle after it stuck as I took off. Learned that lesson "first hand" I'm looking for a good way to secure the throttle everytime. Have you seen anything good? Thanks!
Omg a bolt clip?... even my dog outside has got those undone... this is pretty old hope you're still alive Jeez... there's a company black diamond that makes great climbing gear. Academy sells their non locking carabiner with 3500lbs capacity that's made for non life threatening gear support they sell them at academy for $6 they also sell full rolling lock carabiner for personnel support. They're super light weight.
The reason of pointing out its capacity was to indicate thay its not a $1.00 carabiner that you get at the gas station for your keys. They have lots of uses that they won't fail at. They tend to break on your key ring. I may have missed that he was using it to pin the throttle
Ryan M. man you are brave for making this decision! You're more of a man than me! it takes someone with balls and guts at the same time to go up in one of those! Send lots of pictures! D:
Marc Amenson I got the old version of the blackhawk 125 with an Ozone Spark 27m. Only a few flights in after solo. What part of Wisconsin are you by? I lived near WI dell's for a good while. Looking forward to going back up there flying in the spring. Back by chicago now. I wanna try flying along the WI river and land on a sandbar :) That's the mission.
Steve Engelhardt Awesome setup. I'm up by Green Bay. The southwest part of the state is cool. I have some buddies down there that fly. Always have great photos.
Some good tips there! How about a video talking about your helmet/headset. Did it come as a single unit, or did you piece together the headset/mic and helmet?
There's so many different variables when selecting a paramotor and wing. Research them all and then try to make it to a few fly ins and speak to the pilots first hand. Good Luck!!!
Spark Plug colour should only be checked by killing the Engine after around 20 secs at full power. If you check it after it's been running at low speed for a while, it will always look like it's running too rich.
I really love the Blackhawk 125 and all the crew at Blackhawk. Mike and Heidi are committed to innovation, quality and customer service. As you can see in the video, the paramotor has great build quality at the lightest weight possible without sacrificing strength. So if I had to buy again, I'd definitely go with the Blackhawk Lite 125. More power, less weight. Good luck!
Sometimes it's best to contact a local dealer of Blackhawk gear. I've been out to the Blackhawk Ranch and they are often busy with the school, sales and distribution. I contact our regional trainer Mike Mixer since I got my training from him and he provides me with help very quickly.
Lone Flyer man I am so conflicted I hate how the paramotor companies all turned against eachother you know?. I'm guessing you fly with other paramotors? Would you have any recommendations or what you would do differently?
Hi Marc, do you have any videos on Insurance tips? I'm wanting to get into this sport and one thing I do not hear people talk about that who already flying is what type of insurance they have for this; Liability or Life Insurance or both? By the way, great videos!
I don't have any videos on that. I do now that my life insurance that I had prior to flying covers me, but any new policies I get have to have a rider/waiver that covers flying. It adds a considerable amount more to the plan. Good thing I had life insurance before starting. :)
HACKS?? From someone who pushes some of the worst gear ever build?/ not one piece of black hawk gear can legally fly in the E.U.?? that's why they sell there junk here, in Europe it is a licensed sport, like soon to be here as well? so, this ungraded gear soon won't be able to fly here either? black hawk like the clown who tries to fly it? end's up dead. 23 dead on this gear to date. that's just in the states and Canada alone!?! See could take the time to explain with math why he here doesn't get it? could tell him, but would not get it. by his passed action doesn't understand the basics of flight let alone any aerodynamics at all. HE ALREADY BOUGHT THE BULLSHIT FROM THIS COMPANY, THERE'S NO GOING BACK! FOLKS 23 DEATHS ON THIS GEAR SHOULD TELL YOU SOMETHING ABOUT IT?? IT YOUR LIFE? WASTE IT WISELY!!
Great advices.

Striking the pose with your man bag cracked me up. Nicely done.
I love the magnet GP to the wing idea! I'll do that to a Session4. If you ever get to meet Tony Qualentone in Wisconsin he's a PPG pilot and a way cool guy.
I'll look him up, always good to have a flying buddy. Thanks Brian!
Thanks for sharing, Marc. I'm new to PPG and found this to be interesting as well as helpful.
That's great, you'll learn lots of stuff on your own but these are just a few ideas. Glad it helped!

Dude, I love your humour and light hearted approach. Haha 😂. Very entertaining. Please keep making these vids 👍
Great video Marc. I haven't flown yet, still learning and taking it all in, but you have some great tips, and this video definitely warrants more views. Subscribed. Also, sweet fanny pack bro. Keep rockin' it.
Dude, I am doing that to my pull start tonight! Great idea.
Sweet, I've done 30 flights with it like that and have had no problems and it extends it to a more reachable area.
I carry my extras in a roller type small back pack. I'm lazy so just pull the handle up and drag it along! I'm working on replacing those little hard wheels with bigger pneumatic ones for easier pulling in dirt and grass.

@@jaredmouret9723 bro. his mini carabiner was to hold the throttle while on cruise control. Non load bearing.

Very good information. Thanks
Good video Marc. Well done mate.

Why am I on this? I don't even have a paramotor

Because you are going to get a paramotor. Accept it Ryan,... Accept it....
Ryan M. man you are brave for making this decision! You're more of a man than me! it takes someone with balls and guts at the same time to go up in one of those! Send lots of pictures! D:

Hey Marc I know this is an older video but still great information and I hope you see this: What is the make and model of your reserve?
I have a Blackhawk reserve from Velocity size XL. Thanks for watching!
you should be putting dielectric on your plug boot. it keeps the plug water free and clean
Awesome video bro
Some good tips there! How about a video talking about your helmet/headset. Did it come as a single unit, or did you piece together the headset/mic and helmet?
i new to the sport thinking of buying paramotor i weight 185lbs 5' 7" whats your opinion Propulse Titan EOS 100 vs Miniplane Top 80 PSF or ABM
There's so many different variables when selecting a paramotor and wing. Research them all and then try to make it to a few fly ins and speak to the pilots first hand. Good Luck!!!
Love the fanny pack :)... Great video. thanks for the info and for posting

Great vid man. Where did you find that windsock pole?
Donald Sonnett it's a golf ball retriever. Found it at a rummage sale for a couple dollars.
Rummage sale. It's a golf ball retriever. Paid 50 cents
Thanks for the video...where you live in Wisconsin...im in Merrill
I'm near Green Bay and head up north quite a bit
I'm sure you "bought" that basket 😉
"...or wherever these are available.."
Those baskets come in very handy. :)
Ha that fanny pack though! LOL

Are Blackhawk motors good in quality and how much do they cost?
YamahaSquad Blackhawk Paramotors are excellent quality and packages begin at $7995.
Where are you located in wi? My daughter is close to hartford
I'm up by Green Bay, about a hundred miles north of her.
I wonder what the demons in the background of the audio track are saying ????
LOL
Visited your channel, none of these PPG videos are to be found? Do you have one that you actually fly the thing on camera?
cowboy6591 Most are flying videos. Some are just Paramotor related without flying. Thanks for watching!
Are you pleased with your blackhawk? Are you wishing you would have purchased a different paramotor?
I really love the Blackhawk 125 and all the crew at Blackhawk. Mike and Heidi are committed to innovation, quality and customer service. As you can see in the video, the paramotor has great build quality at the lightest weight possible without sacrificing strength.
So if I had to buy again, I'd definitely go with the Blackhawk Lite 125. More power, less weight. Good luck!

Lone Flyer in guessing you've had a different experience with blackhawk?
