  • In this video I carry on rebuilding the battered Yamaha YZF R125 by stripping down the forks, respraying them and rebuilding them, stripping and respraying the engine covers, swing arm and handlebars and putting a new rear sprocket on.
Follow the story of me getting this bike refreshed and back on the road!

Could really do with an impact wrench, they make short work of those bolts.

It’s fiddly. If you check out my video linked below you can see me doing it
With the fork in the bike, take off the handlebars and dust cap. Then push down on the top of the fork to compress the spring and that exposes a retaining clip. Prise that out and the whole thing comes apart.

how do you adjust the idle on them?

Where the throttle cable attaches to the top of the engine, there is an "idle screw". you can tighten / untighten this to adjust the idle. If the cable stretches over time then you might need to do this. Or replace the throttle cable if its stretched too much. You don't want that snapping a long way from home.
