I have the blue R125 also it was my first bike owned too and legal for looks I'd suggest changing the standard chain for the blue one they are known to have a restricted limit of 76 mph also a tip if you put them away in winter always roll it freely and squeeze breaks as they go sticky an can sometimes stick on great vid tho
Nice video love theses machines I'd had a cagiva mito small capacity bike couple months back fastest little thing I've ever had even quicker than most 300s once power valve opens up lol shame because of ulez I sold her now but I'm now on a modern 4t as well its quite a suprise how smooth and chuckable theses newer bikes are plus no worrying of breakdowns such a relief in general they much better
I've been a Yamaha fan for most of my living years...all but one bike I have ever owned has been a Yamaha ( granted I've not owned anything newer than my current 07 R1 ) anyway what I was gonna say is that I've never had any major issues mechanically. However I maintain mine religiously and I think that's the key to trouble free riding. My partner has a 2006 R6 but just sold it for a new R7 so I'm looking forward to having a blast on it soon.
I’ve got the limited edition 25 year anniversary 2009 yzf r125 and it has 17hp standard I’ve probably added an extra 3 or 4 hp with mods and it’s more tham enough power and has no problem with hills etc. I don’t ride like and idiot because I’m 38 years old and have kids to go home to but I honestly don’t think I’ll ever get rid of my bike I absolutely love it, I’ve had a few 125’s over the years but the yzf is by far my favourite hands down.
@@RokyRode it would indeed mate yes 🙂, mines got black boomerangs on it know though as I wanted to make it yellow and black but i do still have the original boomerangs in perfect condition and I’ll keep them forever haha
Thanks. I always thought the Duke 125 looked a little on the small side. Perfect for a smaller rider and I'm a big fan of their Orange colour scheme. I like the RC125 too.
Just got a 2023 mt125 struggles over 70 IV had it doing 85 down a hill tho 😂 I can relate to the CBT bikes being shit as well lol as to the oil changes you could do them yourself it only holds a liter and it's like 4 bolts to do
i’m about 5’7 and i’m thinking about getting this bike. do you think it would be a good choice getting this bike or should i look at other sport bikes?
It's hard to say. I should have asked my friend how tall he is. He rode my bike the other day no problem and you can apparently get a lowering spring for them.
Yeah it probably is dude but you know me, I'm not in a hurry. Love this bike too so riding on CBT hasn't been a problem. Probably should do my test now though.
hey dude, im getting my BA1 this march, and im planning on getting a yzf 125, but with these prices, the cheapest is a 2016 for 1.3 mill huf, with its papers expiring in 23 october, meanwhile the 2022 model from saloon, brand new, 0 km, is only 2mill flat, with warranties and stuff but i will be a beginner on sport bike, i have been using a 05 scooter for 2 years now, around the village, but i havent used any bigger bikes, so its safe to say i might drop it as im learning what are your thoughts? i will have a budget of about 1.5 mill, and i can borrow from a close friend of mine, but is it even worth it? thanks a lot
Nope. At least not on the first generation bike. It is one of the things that annoys me about the bike. Everyone says you don't need a gear indicator but I want one. Creature comforts etc.
@jamesgreen1614 I wish we had similar rules this side of the pond. I'm not fully clued up on American bike licence rules but I'm sure I've seen learners in USA on 250s etc, seen some on R3's and wish we could over here but yes, over here learner's are stuck on 125s. They look great but they aren't fast by any means. Enough to learn on though 👍
Yeah we're stuck learning on 125's over here unless you go full test. I think some of Europe is the same. Love Americans. You guys always do vehicles bigger than us. Just look at American Muscle cars. So nice, and proper big engines.
I'm 31. Just bought one. First bike, I had a moped when I was 16. I really can't wait to ride it. Cbt first.
Ive got a yzfr 125 2009 mine goes 84 and can confirm! I love it to peices. Lovely machine for what it is.
I've just purchased a2009 Yamaha YZF r125 after 8 years off the bike. They're really great little machines - looking forward to summer and DAS!
8 years off. Wow, and welcome back to the fold.
@@RokyRode That's right! Lost a little bit of interest from 18-24 due to the licensing. Turned 25 a few months ago so reignited the spark again!
just bought one yesterday after being in an accident with a 2014 one a year ago, cant wait for the weather to be warmer
Good comments on the "top speed" question. It's all about the fun!
Absolutely mate. I'd rather be doing 40 in the twisties, than 70 in a straight line 👍

Thank you. I used to put my bike away for the winter but no more. I am now an all weather rider.

Right on. This bike has been ultra reliable.
Hit a digger on this took my leg off just a few months ago best bike I have rode yet
Had a gen 1 2010 great bikes missed haven one that much sold my ktm rc and have another yzfr 2018 2nd gen great bikes and canny size for the cc

2006 R6? Is that the 2co model? Gorgeous bikes. I love my Yamaha too. He has been ultra reliable.

I have 2009 yzf r125 and it’s the best!
Does it wanna tank slap, and the back wheel wanna slide in the corner?
I've never had either of those issues, but the tyres that are on it, Michelin Pilot Street, are no good in the wet.
Great video 📹 thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
Compared to the ktm duke 125, the yamaha is noticeably larger. Great moto.

This is best 125 bike mate I’ve got one I fix them an boost them up the Wright way if u have Yamaha r125 problems I can fix

I'm glad it isn't just me that thinks CBT bikes are shit, but then Yamaha are so good that perhaps we just have higher standards.

It is a little difficult to judge without knowing your currency but looking at those figures, I would say go new if you can.
I'm looking at getting the 2023 model, only problem is I'm 5'8 but Suppose I can be lowered as you said

the 2023 model is kind of overpriced

I wouldn't keep your disc lock n other thing there too if they move they could damage your relays or ecu (I did it with tools)
I might have to check that. The disc lock is wedged in there I'm sure, just need to check the other bits.
Does the r125 have gear indicator
