Nice work Steve, I didn’t know that the seal you could see was just a dust seal

So many folks ignore the state of the dust seals. They don't realise they protect the oil seals from crap. I use a ring of red rubber grease on the stanchions and pump it into the seals. Helps reduce stiction too.

Bit of 400 grit horizontally around the stanchions and some carnauba wax will help them last a bit longer.

Thanks, we’ve still found it to be a bit poor in certain surroundings, which you’ll notice on some future videos, but we’ve made some more improvements since to hopefully overcome this 🤞

If you are struggling with undoing the bottom bolt of the fork leg when the fork leg is still complete try to undo the bolt as it with hold it still and not spin around inside

In case you do have pitting on the the forks use a plastic milk container cut a strip of the plastic container wrap it around the top of the fork then place to fork seal onto the plastic container then slide both down the leg so you pass the pitting then slide the seal off the the plastic container strip
    Into place

I've always rubbed my pitting with aluminium foil, it's harder than the rust and softer than the chrome...

How did you put the oil in? Just tipped it in from the top before putting the final cap on?

Yes. It needs to be the correct amount but yes

@themobilemotorbikemechanic thank you matey. Could I buff the pitting marks off my forks with 2000 sand paper?
