28 yr old Female, Mom of 5, Wife of a 12 yr Army Veteran, Daughter/Granddaughter/Great Granddaughter to a Marine of 20 yrs and Army Vets. Grew up in the military lifestyle. Currently going through enlistment process. This coming Wednesday I take the ASVAB at recruiters office, then go to MEPS for just the confirmation test, before they will approve my dependency waiver. Assuming it's because of my age and GED, they want to make sure I can pass the ASVAB before wasting countless resources. Academically, I'm smart, maxed my practice ASVAB, so I'm definitely confident in my ability to pass. I'm trying to score 105 in GM, looking to enlist with 89D in my contract. Definitely not looking forward to Red phase, but keeping an open mind, and willingness to learn and be taught. Nervous, but more so anxious to get the ball rolling. Just at a point where I've exhausted the "idea" of joining, and ready to get started. Excited for this new journey and new chapter in mine and my families lives. Thank you for your service and God Bless!
Thank you I just subscribed I'm 32 years old and working with my recruiter now to go through the entirety of the recruiting process and just basically starting my entire journey to join the United States military
I appreciate the way you went into the mental aspect of basic training, I’ve been looking for a video like this as I consider joining! I’ll be 31 in a few months and am considering this path
Hi Alexandria did you ever join?
My man thank you for all this videos... I saw these after visiting my recruiter ... and there was the moment of what if... then I watched your posts ...every vlog you posted... I was said to myself is he reading my mind... I’m 32 enlisted ... getting ready for the asvab in a couple weeks... thank you once again!
Absolutely Mena. Hope you enjoy the journey!
I absolutely love this video brother. Im 29 Headed out in exactly 2 days from now. This is exactly the mentality i have molded myself to go into to prepare myself for Basic.
Keep your head up. Stay motivated by connecting with a few good souls and keep writing letters back home to friends. I counted down the hours some days because I was so bored of sitting around for days straight. It’ll be rough at times but I’m a highly sensitive person. If I can do it ANYONE CAN!
@@SixFigureCouchSurfer thanks for the advice i will definitely take that in
How has it been?
Appreciate the plug Dan! Definitely can relate coming from a business background myself. I’ll be in touch on IG. Thanks brother.
Hi Steve, you are welcome. Business is the way to go, it's all about serving people well. Let me know what else you'd like me to post about & as always, THANKS for watching =)
Bro, I appreciate your encouragement. I am 31 and I go to boot camp for the AF in June.
I appreciate hearing that. I hear the branch is awesome. Definitely enjoy the journey
@@SixFigureCouchSurfer Thanks brother! We should connect, I will DM you.
I am 32 myself and will be 33 this summer. I been trying for years to get into the military but my fear of not knowing or failing always plays a factor. Also the ASVAB is the death of me and studying is not my fun activity lol. I will be working on it. I am aiming to join the air force guard to continue my education along with my associates degree and to experience new things in life. I definitely have to get out of this comfort zone of the jobs I work at and challenge myself. Joining the military has always been my ultimate challenge in my life and it sucks like crazy.
Kenneth youve got this. Remember that only you block yourself. The ASVAB is in your hands, many before you have passed it and so can you. Keep me posted on your journey. Let me know how I can help!
James Johnson yeah that’s what I’m saying as well.
Six Figure Couch Surfer thank you I will keep you posted I’m hoping to get things situated by summer
Been going thru hand tattoo removal for almost 2 years, hoping to get in within the next several months. I'm 33 now, but still pushing forward to my goal. I will be enlisted soon! Thanks for the videos man
Will Wood You are very welcome thank you for watching it and for the comment. Hopefully the laser that is what you need to get that tattoo removed. I’ve heard the process is pretty painful but well worth it once you get where you want to go. Keep me posted I wish you well
Will Wood Will, you got it bro. Btw they are changing the tat requirements for the Army! Look into the update as it is getting more lenient. Keep me posted and let me know how I can help.
@@SixFigureCouchSurfer what's the new tat policy and when does it go into affect? My hand tat is big but is faded alot from laser removal.
Bro, I really appreciate your input and incites about your experience thus far in the military. A lot of the topics you have discussed were relevant to me in terms of age and life experiences. I am 32 and I have always had the military in the back of my mind. I am looking into an active duty contract. I recently left a good job because I was not fulfilled with the work I was doing. I have a bachelors degree, I maintain good fitness, and I do not have kids so I am hoping that if I am cleared at MEPS that I will be joining soon. Just curious, what was the MOS you chose and are you active duty?
Willdh87 engineer. Active yes. Glad I can help brother. Definitely let me know whatever else I can post about and I’ll keep adding content. I just got a GoPro so I’ll be posting some videos about a little adventures here and there but if there’s ever any training experiences or mindset characteristics that you want to know about let me know
I ship out in October am 32, glad am not the only one out there
Naturally Aspirated you are def not alone. You’ll love it

Hey im 30 trying to renlist and about to get my degree can you exlpqlin the benefits of joing the military with a degree
Can you talk about the MEPS process?
Yup yup, just responded to your other comment. Ill get on it today if we get time
Will I be singled out as a 37 year old or is it based on looking like a 37 year old? What I mean is I look 27 so will I be able to fly under the radar?
If youre in shape thats basically all that matters. Honestly my age was never an issue
@@SixFigureCouchSurfer Awesome, thanks.
What is the vaccination process like?
I'll get a video up on that process in the next few days. stay tuned. Let me know what else you'd like me to post about & as always, THANKS for watching =)
I am joining the army at 40, I am scared but excited. I am tired of the corporate world. Any of your friends near the 40’s lol?
26 here and debating if it’s all gonna worth it
Deep heart felt debate my friend. I understand how that pull feels. What sealed the deal for me was when my buddies who were in their upper 30s told me how much they regret never having joined. I didn’t want to live with that regret so I signed up and shipped out. But definitely make certain it is right for you, though how do we know unless we leap? Anyway, let me know what info you want me to post about. IG @sixfigurecouchsurfer
