Timely video! I started 1mg Finistride (Mon, Wed, Fri) as you directed with a Topical Minoxidil gel 5mg (once daily).. Experiencing mild chest pain with this, not sure whether it's the Finistride or Minoxidil so stopping both, it's scary.. So I guess that's the end of that unfortunately.. Too bad, I was excited for a treatment that works.
Still though, I thank you both for all the videos on this subject 🙏💜 (I've watched them all).. The two of you are decent human beings that genuinely seem to care. And there is some great information here.
Best to you both 👍👍 (I'll still check back in here from time to time, to see what the latest is on the subject matter)
Update: The pains were due to taking NSAIDS (Ibuprofen) with the Finistride (you're not supposed to do that). Quite the Advil and everything was OK

@@Unnamed786 Hi there, yes I started back again with both the Finasteride and Minoxidil. Finasteride 1mg 3 X per week (Mon, Wed, Fri), and Minoxidil gel 2 pumps every day on affected areas. Everything seems to be OK now, no problems. Just make sure not to take any NSAIDs with the Finasteride and you should be fine. So NSAIDs are like ibprofin (in products such as Advil and Aleve). If you do need to take Advil due to say having the flu, make sure to lay off the Finasteride for the duration of your flu while you're taking the Advil or Aleve (this was actually warned on my prescription box, I just missed reading the warning due to it being partially hidden by an adhesive sticker 🧐🤬). Apparently the Minoxidil (especially topical treatment) has no issue taken with NSAIDS. Hope that helps 👍👍

@@thelonesquid7886 I took a month long break from the Fin and Minoxidil just to clear my system. Gonna start back at .5mg Fin Mon/Wed/Fri, see how that goes for a couple weeks, then add a half dose 2.5mg Minox Tues/Thurs/Sat. It helps to get one of those pill cutters from the drugstore. Life brand works pretty well 👍
Also helps to quit any kind of over the counter sleep aides pain/meds like Benadryl, Advil, Tylenol, anything that affects your liver or kidneys. I can't imagine it would be good to take any Fin or Minoxidil while taking a prescription med of any kind. The body can only handle so many drugs in the system at one time. That's why I'm spacing and alternating on different days of the week, easier on the system 👌

What about finasteride shedding? I've been on 3x 1.25mg a week for 2 months now, but shortly after I started I feel like I started shedding more hair than before. I knew this was a possibility and that it's normal, and online i read that it should only last for 2-4 weeks. However, 2 months later I still lose a LOT of hair each shower, with no sign of any reduction in hair loss at all. Is this normal? How long can sheds last or how soon can you expect to see a slowing of hair loss? Luckily I started with a head full of hair, but if it continues like this for another 2 months I'm worried I'll start to see visible reductions in hair density..

I need some help here: I started with the recommended 1 mg MWF for 3 months but had terrible sides (e.g, ED, reduced seminal fluid, muscle soreness, brain fog, mood swings). I cut that down to .5 mg MWF & still had sides. My hair loss, which was relatively minor, stabilized & I even grew all the hair the back on the vertex! But man, I'm paying a price on sides.
Should I try .5 mg once a week which equates to ~0.07 mg a day which is close to 0.05 mg a day dosage that was used in the *Drake et al* study. In that study, 0.05 didn't reduce serum DHT nearly as much as the higher doses, but reduced scalp DHT almost as good as the other doses. Anyone familiar with that study?

7 months on it for me, only side effect is a big increase in libido. Less stress and depression about hair loss! Highly recommend to anyone, fear mongerers have controlled the narrative for too long, this drug is incredibly safe!!
