Legion Go is such a beast
IMPORTANT - Make sure you turn off any resolution scaling in game (disable FSR) and make sure RSR isn't on neither..
Why?
@@HekaWaset RSR is the built in resolution scaling for AMD (Driver level for games that don't have resolution scaling).. As for not using another resolution scaler without getting to technical you are essentially just forcing it to do that same thing twice and they mess eachother up..
Thank you for explaining@@marcverdel1936
I've been doing this for a bit now but I also did the interger scaling mod as well. 800p is now looking crispy. 😊
Does RIS work with integer scaling, or instead of it?
What mod? Before it was released by Lenovo people were modifying the registry.. It that what your referring to?
@@marcverdel1936 no that's the custom resolutions. I was doing that in the past but I no longer need it now. The mod I'm talking about is to change the AMD integer scaling so that it would be an option cause it's currently grayed out rn in the display panel under the setting of the AMD software.
@@volcalstonewhat is that interger scaling and how do you do that
How can I do that@@volcalstone
What is RIS?..edit: read article in the link. It's Radeon Imaging Software
Full screen or full screen windowed? Which is better for integer scaling and ris?
How did you get your fps counter to work again? Mine hasn't worked since the first update and I have all current updates. It still will not work.
Is this a setting that you still use to this day? Thank you.
what's the difference between this and integer scaling?
This is just an additional filter if Integer Scaling isn't crisp enough for some reason.
Thanks for the info
Man i have a question
I wana buy this device soon but i really want to know when we, play at 800p can, our eye realize the low resolution and difference between 1080p of the small screen or playing on 800p wouldnt be ok?
Should I use this with integer scaling or instead of integer scaling?
Yes, this.
You can use it with Integer Scaling if you want to. It's just an additional image filter. If you like the look of it, keep it, if not, turn it off.
Cant wait till the fsr3 mod is available for this
Can you tell me what settings you used for the graphics?
RIS? Or RSR?
😍 Lenovo legion go 💪💪🚀👍
Could you please make a video of you deleting the Amd adrenaline software and then showing us how to reinstall it? People say it’s in the Microsoft store but it’s not showing up for me. I deleted when the legion first came out since it wasn’t opening.
Will do
So I need to enable RIS while the game is running? And than set it to 800p ingame and than reboot the game? Also I always need to run the game from adrenaline to profit from this?
you have to restart the game if it's open when you enable RIS
Where do I get the AMD app? And what is it called, please? TIA.
AMD adrenalin
Should already have it. Long pressing on the main desktop screen, should pop up options with AMD software also. Or just click on the bottom windows or search button and then search the system for AMD Software
Thank you.
will RIS work with 1200?
Isn’t there something similar built in the legion space? Do we need to setup manually?
That's RSR and no, it's different.
That's not true. It depends on what you're playing. 800P is for more modern games, but there's a lot of games that I'm playing that look great and I'm able to play the Mac settings or at 1200 P with Max and he's right now I play BattleTech. Everything maxed out at 1200 p and I'm averaging between 30 to 45. You know give or take which is fine because that game doesn't need 60 FPS. There's not really any sort of fast movement in the game so I prefer the visuals over smooth frame rates. But then I have others like Batman, Arkham origins. I play that at 1200 P or 1080p. I guess you would say and most settings are maxed out too and it looks really really good. I game looks. It's crazy how that game can still rival some of the more recent games and how it looks
how do I install this ?
Legion got the RiSzzzz
Thabks for video so for each game woukd need to go into those settings
Yes it seems that way.
Thanks again love my legion. Just wish I knew why cod mw3 keeps crashing on startup grrr 😂
Which vram are you running it on?
7500 @@GamesInHand
Did you set it at 8 gig vram?
I accidentally deleted the amd app, how do I get it back?
Maybe trying to download it again ?
Mine wasn’t opening so I deleted and redownloaded from the Microsoft store.
@@ElDoN262 It’s not in my store, I’ve checked multiple times
You have to download it from the web browser
It’s also for the ally
Yes, it a base AMD feature. All AMD cards/products will have access to it.
Ris rsr fsr 😂😂😂
Nice. Buying a 2560x1600p display, just to find the sweet spot is 800p. Lenovo R&D dept are wizards.
RSR works better and takes good use off the 2k display
i have played Hades and many other games using 1600p, I don't see any problem on having the option to choose
And i'm playing Elden Ring using 1050p with upscaling and it works like magic, game runs smooth and looks really good
@andyjosueterceromorraz8106 You got the point. The Z1 Extrene chip is designed to work well at resolutions from 800p to 1080p maximum. The choice from Asus with the Ally was much more spot on, any display resolution above the FullHD is just wasted money. Just to ask, how many fps are you playing ER? 60fps?
Can't tell if you're trolling or what but the entire point of the 1600p display is so you can run indie titles at 1600p where you can still get great FPS. Then swap to 800p for Triple A titles. So yes... It was a great decision by the R&D department. Explanation below:
800p scales evenly into 1600p so the image comes out substantially more crisp and sharp because 1 pixel always maps to 4 pixels - It scales evenly. When the Ally chose to use a 1080p screen you basically always have to us 1080p as the next even integer scaling is 540p which is uh... Doable I guess but that resolution is getting a bit sus. Anything other than Integer Scaling will come out blurry because 1 pixel doesn't always map back into an even number of pixels.
So the 1600p screen is the power to choose. You should get way better performance in triple A titles without hardly any sacrifice to image quality since 800p is still more pixel dense than a 2K monitor and even Integer scaling keeps the image sharp. And 800p is obviously more performant than 1080p. And if you want to turn up the resolution, you can. That's the choice you can make depending on what you are playing.
The GO's use of better Memory/VRAM combined with the 800p screen being less than 1080p and having even integer scaling to maintain the Sharp image leaves it with absolutely stellar performance. Unfortunately, this video is kind of pointless because the image you are seeing on your screen is being scaled to your monitor unevenly. So you aren't going to see any difference on your end. It's something you have to see in person, lol.
