      Can we stop this "haha introverts don't want to be seen" thing? Like especially right now having a webcam is kind of necessary. Even outside of online meetings they can be used to video call parents or children and whatnot.
      Plus introversion isn't supposed to mean recluse. Introverts can party and be social too, it's just that they also need their alone time in between events.

      @@NiSE_Rafter Relax a bit. I'm pretty introverted myself, plus the kind off privacy advocate with four different cookie and add blockers installed, and I thoroughly appreciate the "I don't have a webcam at home and do not plan to buy one" excuse remote work provided me with.

      @@reeven1721 Sorry if I came off as antagonistic, guess I should have had coffee or something this morning before writing comments lol. I'm also introverted and I guess I was just tired of seeing people say this stuff because I used to before I broadened the groups of people I spent time with. Like I pretty much never use the front camera on my phone, which is also usually mentioned in this same context, but every once in a while it's nice to have the option. That said, I'm glad you've been able to get out of having to have one on at work. Unfortunately for me, I'm a student and some of my professors force us to use them during class and exams.
      Hope you have a good day :)

      @@NiSE_Rafter It's OK, I didn't mean to come off as aggressive either. Sometimes it is indeed nice or necessary to talk face to face. I just find "I litteraly don't have one" is a nice last resort trump card to have handy for someone who's determined not to be on camera. It definitely would not be a deal breaker for me when picking a laptop. More of a perk, really.

      I bought the 3070 F15 , it was definetly the best laptop that i could buy for the price where i was, so many are overpriced just for more storage or maybe the brand. In terms of review, i can see why it may be lacking in some games but i still play most game son ultra (hogwart legacy) or high ( ark survial evolved) , even with cyberpunk ( no Raytracing while i put my 4K monitor but on the laptop monitor raytracing is okay). In term of battery life , i don't think it can hold that long while gaming and the screen kinda lacks brightness if you play next to a window ( i had that problem in the train lol). i bought an external storage since i have a 512gb version and a cooling pad for extra wind , i felt the heat was getting a bit high while playing for a few hours.
      I know the limits of this laptop , i know that the lack of cores are a thing but i still never had regrets and i had it for 1 year and a half now.

      I heard that OEMs do surveys and the overall take is that 60-70% of users do not use their webcam, most tape over it. I do not use mine and the professionals I know use their own webcam or phone so they can choose what they want (and they are relatively cheap). I find it crazy that a webcam would be a deal-breaker on a laptop bearing in mind the alternatives, especially a mid-range one like this that has to cut back in places to get to that price point! It is like cutting off your nose to spite your face!

    • @TabalugaDragon
      @TabalugaDragon 3 года назад

      @@andyH_England I love videochatting to my relatives and friends(not to mention co-workers) on my laptop, and doing that is extremely uncomfortable on a phone that has a tiny screen and that I have to hold in my hands all the time, it's just super annoying. And using an external one for a laptop would be annoying as well. It's a fricken mobile device which should have it included, why do I even have to connect an external one? It feels like regress in technologies just like Nvidia going back to M GPU-s for laptops in this generation.
      webcams are dirt cheap for them to include in the laptop itself, so cheap that it costs nothing to the end consumer, so it's nothing but their greed that's playing here.

  • @KingKoss

    I got this laptop for an on-the-go gaming laptop that can also do basic tasks.
    I got the RTX 3060 144hz variant.
    This laptop was everything I could have hoped for, for the money I put down and the gaming experience I get from it. I watched many review videos before buying and after and most of them say avoid which if you are a gaming nerd who only cares about maximum specs you might wanna go for an AMD CPU but the combo they have in this Dash TUF F15 works perfectly for me.
    Overall I upgraded the ram to 40GB and storage to 2TB and I can run almost any game on ultra at 60FPS with no drops NO Problem. (in silent mode, not performance or turbo) heavy games like Cyberpunk and similar games Chugg slightly but putting it on turbo mode solves this problem.
    So unless you are looking for top-of-the-line performance for your money then look elsewhere but for an all-around quality laptop pic this, in my opinion.

This is quite sad.....since intel tries to go "Turbo" it actually bottlenecks GPU. LUL. TF. Its like taking steps back...just bc it has a cinebench/geekbench etc...."benchmarking mode" as i call the 65w cpu....for doing score based benchmarks like cinebench or etc...they did this to compete not only with zen3...but the apple chip....its a gimmicky bs concept that ruins the gaming experience.

    • @linnes56
      @linnes56 3 года назад +1

      @@AjeroZ The problem comes when you give lots of watts to the CPU. This laptop is giving lots of power to the CPU, which doesn't leave much for the GPU (3070). You only have so much power in a laptop, and most CPUs in laptops run between 35watts and 45watts, which gives more head room for the GPU to draw power. A good wattage for the 3000 series GPUs in laptops would be around 115watts to 125watts but higher is better (High as it can go as seen at 1:30).
      So just look at what watts your GPU is running at and you should be able to tell how well it will run. Given the right power, the new GPUs will definitly be better then last gen. But maybe not enough to spend that much if you have a good one from last gen.

Especially for students where battery life and gaming performance is somehow balanced in this small thin and light form factor. Considering they might not need a full 8c/16t for school tasks, I say the mid tier model will work fine for them. Sure there will be more powerful options within the same price point, but unless they like lugging around 3 kilos worth of weight every school day, I don't think it's a bad option in my opinion.

    Here are my thoughts:
    This is NOT a gaming laptop, even though it is advertised as one. Thunderbolt and slim factor make it ideal for work (which is what I am actually looking for), however the webcam is a bummer. It is not a tragic oversight as in the age of dongles, carrying a webcam doesn't seem so bad, but still :/ . Now as I mentioned - thunderbolt. AMD equipped machines don't have that, which for me is a deal breaker (again, work reasons). I am unsure at what power are the 2070 and 2080s in the reference laptops, but I'm almost certain they are way more than the 80W of the 3070.
    I view it as: if you want a slick and portable working machine, which can run a game in the lunch break..... buy the 3060 version, not this one, lol
