I had purchased the version with 8gb ram, an i5, and 500gb ssd, but upgraded to 16GB of ram and added another TB of storage that I just didn't need from my desktop. And I'm am impressed that i can hit 70 fps with shaders on Minecraft if i mess with the settings a bit. While its nothing near my desktop with a OC 3070 and 32gb of ram, it can do everything i want it to at a decent enough performance. I like it.

3:52 This is the best statement about the RTX 3050 series. With its 4gb VRAM limitations, its honestly more like an improved GTX1650Ti, with DLSS support. But Ray tracing? Forget about it. Its a decent entry level laptop GPU, and for productivity its surprisingly capable. But if you want to play the latest games with ray tracing, this wont cut it.

I purchased the version with 8gb of ram and an i5 as well as an rtx 3050 instead of a 3050 ti. I find that the i5 processor still offers about the same performance and the rtx 3050 doesnt have as many features as the ti version but it has exactly the same performance as well. I upgraded it to 16gb of ram and all the costs including the extra ram, shipping and import fees were about 800€. I am really happy with my purchase so far. Definitely a good device.

Connect to an exterior display using the type-C thunderbolt cable to bypass Optimus to potentially even get 80fps at 1440p very high settings)

Honestly not too bad. It is true that on the recent AAAs, you can't RTX + DLSS + high everything else. Do tweak it towards mid-high, based on the visual versus FPS impact for each game. It'll be okay. The laptop has some tricks up it sleeve (adaptive sync plus) for large FPS swings that dip below 48fps.
It avoids huge stutters, avoids random micro-stutters, and it's pretty smooth down to 20fps or so which is about movie frame rates. Yes a movie is kinda choppy but it smooth-choppy, does that make sense? lol
Anyhow do remember that in any recent AAA titles, you can't full-send all the sliders to the right UNLESS you have a 2070/3070 desktop equivalent. Which speaks $2000 in laptop for where i live. There are different 3050Ti offerings from different manufacturers that tip the balance to where you need it, be it screen quality/battery life/raw performance/weight/size/overall package. Do check them out.
3050Ti is right where it needs to be, only that it should really be called the 2050Ti. lol. And, there are a very select few games, in which it's engine cannot handle a 4GB VRAM scenario regardless of settings, so if those are your games, avoid this GPU.

Die hard PC gamers are going to dog it out cause it's a budget laptop, and that's what your budget calls for, and don't realize everybody don't have the funds to purchase a $2,000 computer, so if you get one, make your own decision, not off super PC nerd gamers, or you'll put yourself into debt for something stupid. If they recommend you to get a super expensive laptop, then they should buy it, otherwise, get what you can afford, not what they recommend. Use common sense.

You can. The speed of the other stick will simply drop to 2666MHz.

@@Terafied thank you so much I'll get that since it's on sales and very low price I think it won't effect performance much

For playing game you should always plug your laptop.Your fps will increase dramatically.Plus plenty of tweaks can be done in pc to increase fps.

Always plug in if you’re gonna play any games. It’s not the fault of the GPU or CPU it’s you restricting how much power they draw. By having it unplugged you’re using battery power which halves the performance

do you think RTX 3050Ti can keep up with future games? say if u were to run them all on medium, I'm mainly gonna use it for simulation purposes + some games, such as League of Legends, Paladins, think it can keep 60 fps for like a couple of years? or is getting a GTX 1650 better ? seems cheaper too

    • @Terafied

As long as you're fine with running games at medium settings at 1080p, it'll last you a long while. Definitely go for the 3050Ti over the 1650 if at all possible, it is quite a bit better.
