I have this same laptop. Shoved a 1tb drive and another 16gb ram in it out of the gate. Plays everything i want it to just fine
Great video. I've been battling along with an older non gaming AUS laptop that surprisingly will run Fallout 4, Skyrim and Farm sim 22 in medium graphics modes. But today got myself an F15 and looks like it will be an amazing improvement on my current laptop.
How is it after all this time?

I just got this laptop from BestBuy for the same sale price and it works great. I replaced the Memory with a Team Group Elite 3200mhz ddr4 2x16gb dual kit and the new results are phenomenal. Laptop ran Warhammer 40k Darktide at decent framerates and overall quality. Laptop gets a lil hot though like any other laptop.
3050 rtx with 16 ram would that run well?
@@skys8755 It plays Warhammer Darktide well on medium settings. Been playing that game and Battlefield V and it’s an enjoyable experience. Absolutely playable with no issues at decent framerates.
This laptop supports up to 64 GB RAM and 4TB nvme SSD in each slot.

I picked up a asus tuf 10300h 1650 ti for $300 at a pawn shop. With to bestbuy and grabbed 1tb m.2 and 2x 16gb 3200 ram sticks for $160. Probably the best laptop I've ever own.

got this model but with 16gb of RAM about 6 months ago for a killer deal of 499€ new! Great laptop, have been writing my masters thesis on it and playing on work trips and for the price its amazing. There is an option to set -30mV CPU undervolt in bios which helps a bit with the thermals, mine can go way lower than that with throttlestop BUT having the throttlestop (see edit below) or hwinfo or anything that reads the sensors kills the battery so that doesnt help too much with the 48wh battery thing. Lowers thermals a ton while gaming with charger connected tho so thats good! Just a simple cooling pad also does wonders and helps with the ergonomics. Also it is possible to turn off windows modern standby and use regular S3 sleep on this machine.
EDIT. Realized how stupid the throttlestop thing sounded. There actually is an option to stop data which fixes the battery drain issue completely while letting you keep the undervolt stuff. Increases battery life and also lowers temps under load, just set it to automatically start with windows and you are good to go!
You mentioned about writing thesis. How is the heat with this one with long hours document typing? Do you burn your palms? I am planning to get this one for office work and light gaming tho
@@naqib4235 the heat is very manageable, not a problem at all even when gaming. Battery life leaves a lot to be desired tho.
How well can it handle games??
@@jusoutajail9185 I'd say Im pretty pleased. The temps are good and the GPU has 75W power limit so it actually has some room to boost. The performance is about as good as it gets for mobile RTX 3050, just take into account that it has 4gb of VRAM so you depending of the games you are going to play you might have to adjust textures etc a bit.

Not bad for the 600 USD price, with a few more buck upgrading RAM and storage it would be a great laptop.

I have the dash f15, 12650h, 3060, ddr5 with the same screen and it's great. When playing some games at home like death stranding or other "streamable" games I use parsec to my desktop and the intel video decoding means it can play for hours on battery.

Bought this (1 year older version) nearly a year ago except it was a GTX 1650 with the other specs being the same for more than 1400 AUD which is quite expensive when comparing price to performance ratios. (I was in dire need if one for school and made a rash decision) The battery life as said is as said not good and I always carry my charger in my back pocket. If you have any questions let me know.

A good friend of mine bought A17, overall nice laptop having Ryzen 7 and Rtx 3050, but Its speakers do not have any power comparing from my ROG strix G, its volume is about 20% on full volume
eGpus still have a long way to go. Even Thunderbolt 4 has bandwidth issues for high performance cards. Neat idea for upgrade potential though.
I got this laptop but I have upgraded the ran to 32gb and I replaced the off brand paste with thermal grizzly aeronaut and the cpu temp on resident evil village went down from 86c to stable 78c
I wish the plastic casing had more 'holes' for bottom ventilation. I do have concerns about over heating and a noisy fan.

The Ryzen processors that come with these laptops are fast as well.
The one I've got beats my water cooled 9900k at hammer compile, not a small feat despite the age of the 9th gen.
still the Intel processors are a lot better imo

Bought my son the f15 11800h 3060 version for 885 a few weeks ago on amazon. Regularly is 1200 to 1300 USD. Granted it was amazon warehouse but thing was brand new when I checked it out. Should serve him well in college

If you set the CPU power settings in Windows to 95% instead of leaving it at the default 100% does the laptop run a bit cooler. Also can you switch off intel Turbo boost if you want to run it at the base clock frequency?
Got the 3060 version and placed an extra 16gb RAM and 1tb SSD internal. 😊

Can you show the process of disconnecting the battery on this laptop? I want to know if Asus is doing the same thing with new TUF laptops they started doing with the Zephyrus lineup. They use bare metal locking clips to lock the battery connector down that looks and feels sketchy even attempting to remove to disconnect the battery. Reports on reddit show that people who attempted to disconnect the battery saw sparks and killed their Type C ports etc.
I saw this on mine and I didn't even bother doing anything, I just closed the laptop back up.
This model in Finland cost now 679€ and even critcs think crazy good performance on its prize! next prize bit better goes 850-900€+ for cheap but still rtx tech what we need in 2023 and 2024 good to know true value is around this unit around 900 € too! ty for cool video! i gonna buy this next week!! I purchased the 3050 16b GB 1tb ssd for £700 with bag and mouse from Argos in the UK a few months back . And it plays games amazing I can't believe how good it is.
I also bought but not with bag bundle, man someone in house specially kids push the monitor screen 😢😢

I have the F17 model. I love it to death. It's a wonderful gaming laptop, even though I just play PS2 games with PCSX2 and 1080p XD

I have an ASUS TUF that has an 8750h and a 1050ti that cost £800 back in 2019 on sale. Biggest issues I deal with are likely the ones you'd deal with on this laptop too. Inadequate cooling, very small battery (this one only had a 48wh battery) no GPU switch meaning the dedicated GPU is used all the time reducing battery life, loud fans, and mine only has a single video out, though I think the usb-c fixes that on this new one. You buy this kinda laptop to have it plugged in most of its life, but trade off is you get great performance, and gaming on a budget.
newer models fix pretty much every problem that I have with my 2020 tuf

I purchased the same one on sale in the UK. Mines had 16gb RAM but only the 48wh battery. Strangely enough it doesn't have the connections for a sata drive which should be present in the smaller battery model.

How you managed to show gpu temperature. I have the problem that msi afterburner does not give me the option to show the gpu temperature. I have the exact same specs.

has anyone looked to see if the CPU and GPU can be dismounted to swap the thermal paste for liquid metal? I have the 3060 version. great laptop but I feel it would get a bump in performance with a thermal paste change.

@@zamorajafv-wg2rk still doing same numbers as advertised, not something im keeping score on yo be real cause it works as it should and i use it daily. And yeah it got that feature as well, i cant do anything but give props to the laptop especially for the price and performance.

Asus will be better option if you buy 90whrs battery version, i think Lenovo IdeaPad 3i only has 45whrs. but if lenovo has bigger battery like 90whrs it will be better for you.
