We did the 90s to eliminate the titan. Now it's coming back, so essentially, the product stack has been artificially shifted down a tier while maintaining the pricing of its old tiering
Precisely, taking the Titan out the back and shooting it with Ampere to me seemed like a move to justify a higher-price ceiling for the enthusiasts who buy top-end each generation (the people hopping from 3090 to 4090, 4090 to 5090) by having this pseudo-prosumer card. Worst part is we ate it up since the 3080 offered 80-90% of the performance at half the THEORETICAL cost of the 3090. But now, yeah... this just looks bad.
@Hybris51129 pre built is the only way they'll claw market share. At this point I think it would be more economical for a m d to literally buy up the oems and force their hand. They haven't made one a m d High end system with a rtx 5090 mobile, all intel ones
@DavidGotelli710 I've even had the thought of AMD making bundle deals for these new GPUs and their CPUs for one price. For example, if I could get a 9070xt and a Ryzen 7 7800x3d for $850, it would be a slam dunk imo. 9070xt msrp of $480 and 7800x3d msrp of $480, that's $110 off. NVIDIA wouldn't be able to touch that.
Ya that's why there is lots of confusion like people say rx 6800xt is slower than rtx 3080 but is equal to rtx 3090 its very hard to believe because in first it was compare too rtx 3070
Gotta say it is actually working. Hype is building. Just drop the prices aggressively and the people will rejoice. A 5070Ti competitor under 500$? Shut up and take my money!

I'm eager to see 3rd party testing on these cards, and I'm dearly hoping we can get a launch/loads of info on these cards before potential tariffs. \ I'm ready to upgrade my gpu and I don't want to feel obligated to wait another 4 years.
For the Cooler Master cooler, I'm sure this is just a marketing play to sell more pre-built computers. I don't see it making sense to make an adjustable part like that and then have the intended audience being the ones who don't work on the computer themselves. I predict it will come to the consumer market 6 months to a year, maybe a year and a half after they launch with the pre-builds.
Maybe instead of going all out to make the most powerful card, they’re focusing on the best price-to-performance ratio. So, we might see a well-priced midrange or high-end card instead of a super expensive flagship to compete with Nvidia in an already crowded market
The 7090XT results are interresting because both GPU scores in these tests are faster than my 7900XT. Timepy Extreme 14558 vs 12764 on the 7900XT (14% faster Raster), and Raytracing 6345 vs 5289 on the 7900XT (20% faster Raytracing). As I said weeks ago, the 7090XT will be roughly 7900XT in Raster and 4070ti in Raytracing. I realllllly hope for AMD sake they make the price $599. It would be a hit at that price. But I predict $649. If they do that people will spend $100 more for the 5070ti.
I'm still not spending $2000.00 (US) for a GPU. If AMD can give us near 4080 super performance for under $600.00 (US), that would be really cool. It's good to see that Brett has temporarily calmed his Radeon Delusion Syndrome (RDS) down.
When i watch sony ps5 pro specs explanation i know rdna 4 RT performance wont be good. Because it doesnt has Ray traversal pipeline only ray box and ray triangle improvement. Traversal pipeline will improve RT performance significantly and improve path tracing a lot.
Isn't FSR 4 exactly how it is for DLSS? Only Nvidia did it for the 20 series and AMD just did it because their previous versions were cross platform and didn't use AI cores
@johnm4397 I was going into detail on the requiring the 9070 series. I don't recall DLSS looking perfect at launch as well, so FSR nearing that being cross platform and not AI accelerated on it's own is quite good imo
Those coolermaster GPU fans are cool, I if they could just sell those designs along with a 2 fan config too for slim and regular fans specially we now have reversable fans people can experiment airflow configs
a $1000 processor from AMD with dual 3D VCACHE should not be an issue. Hell, the QX series from Intel barely had any advantage over the non QX model back in the day and they for that much.
Am not if anyone has said this yet, but so far its speculation I hope that FSR 4 will be at least available to 6000 & 7000 series cards maybe after few months new cards been released. Since its not yet fully confirmed (on my current understanding) if it will be only exclusive to new upcoming Radeon GPUs.
That BO6 benchmark was likely run with VRS. If so, the 9070 XT is 10% slower than the 7900 XTX there However it might be cherry picked. It might just be around 7900 XT performance on average, but happens to do well in BO6.
I'm really keen on upcoming APUs i'm done building rigs with expensive dGPUs for 1440p games hoping they'll release an APU that's equivalent to my current GPU the RX 6800
Can we take a minute to realize how GREAT the RX6800XT/RX6800 were at launch? (Sadly. overshadowed by the "scalper pandemic" chip shortage and Crypto.) About HALF the price of the previous flagship 2080ti 11GB With 50% MORE VRAM And 12% and 25% FASTER than the 2080ti (6800/6800XT, respectively) AND keep in mind this was the SAME 7nm Process node as the previous Gen 5700XT RDNA1 and even Radeon 7 (non-RDNA architecture) These gains ON THE SAME NODE at that price were UNREAL. $650 for a card that STILL holds up amazing at 1440p and just fine at 4k with upscaling when needed.
I think this is last generation of GPU that go in the case. I think they will be external and the motherboard with a PCIEX 16 slot on the back of the motherboards soon. The GPU will have it's own case and PSU.
What do you think about the AI frame generation that Nvidia is putting in on this series of card, and its specific call out for certain AI models, could we be seeing Nvidia with the 50 series card and the prevalence of frame generation in game dev that there will be a force adoption to Nvidia architecture for gaming
AMD Does extremely well in Call of Duty games (if we remember at launch the 7900XTX was up with the 4090, and RDNA2 even crushed it) If the price is right... it could be friggin great.
AIB's claimed it takes a lot of engineering to make a good cooler and PCB and it is not so easy Nvidia said hold my beer and has now been the most innovative GPU cooler maker in 2 gens
Around 7900XTX performance for the new flagship AMD card is a welcome change. The only issue with it is, as with Nvidia, the amount of VRAM because god knows why AMD thinks that giving 16GB to their current flagship card that's supposed to replace the 24GB last gen flagship is a good idea. The price must be really dang good for this card to actually compete with Nvidia at this point (at least less than the 5070ti).
But it's not supposed to replace the 7900xtx. At best, it's meant to replace the 7900xt but based on the possible price points, it's meant to replace the 7900GRE. For that, 16GB vram is enough for that price range especially when pitted up against the other cards in the price range. This will come out cheaper than a 7900xt with less vram but better performance. Probably the best 1440p price per performance.
I did get a few of those coupons doing trading card stuff. They were just for random games, most of them i got around like 20-30% off and the games were not too popular i think
Watch the original video from hardware unboxed, and the differences night and day, even with the youtube compression and being shown through a camera lens so a further downgrade in quality
It's using machine learning so totally different paradigm than previous FSR versions. Based on the hardware unboxed and digital foundry videos it's as good as any other upscaler to date but need more testing.
If you can fit any fan to the cooler master rtx 5090 imagine fitting server fans , it would be incredibly loud but you can over clock the shit out of it.

I'm eager to see 3rd party testing on these cards, and I'm dearly hoping we can get a launch/loads of info on these cards before potential tariffs. \
I'm ready to upgrade my gpu and I don't want to feel obligated to wait another 4 years.
Althou I like the ufd tech deals, it is kinda disappointing that most of the time they come from Newegg because they don't ship to Europe
Cool, but when we gonna get low profile XX60 cards?
Maybe instead of going all out to make the most powerful card, they’re focusing on the best price-to-performance ratio. So, we might see a well-priced midrange or high-end card instead of a super expensive flagship to compete with Nvidia in an already crowded market
Thanks for keeping us up to date UFD!
Remeber arctic cooling gpu cooling fan kits those were the days
I'm still not spending $2000.00 (US) for a GPU. If AMD can give us near 4080 super performance for under $600.00 (US), that would be really cool. It's good to see that Brett has temporarily calmed his Radeon Delusion Syndrome (RDS) down.
Theres def a 5080ti/super in the works also with the large gap between the 5080-5090 n i wouldnt be suprised they sell it dor 1499
I mean, there's almost as large of a get between the 5090 and full die size so they could release a 5090ti or titan if they wanted to
When i watch sony ps5 pro specs explanation i know rdna 4 RT performance wont be good. Because it doesnt has Ray traversal pipeline only ray box and ray triangle improvement.
Traversal pipeline will improve RT performance significantly and improve path tracing a lot.
Isn't FSR 4 exactly how it is for DLSS?
Only Nvidia did it for the 20 series and AMD just did it because their previous versions were cross platform and didn't use AI cores
dlss looks good, fsr doesnt
@johnm4397 I was going into detail on the requiring the 9070 series.
I don't recall DLSS looking perfect at launch as well, so FSR nearing that being cross platform and not AI accelerated on it's own is quite good imo
Where are the hdmi and display ports?
Should have waited 🤦♂️🤦♂️
@@TheBlackBuddha17 bro in a hurry, finish the video at least god damn 😆
It's connects wirelessly to the monitor
@azraelfaust487 i know it 🤦♂️😭😭 to be fair I've been thinking about this since watching the keynote and Jensen showed the pcb on stage
we just gonna gloss over the 9070 destroying a 7900xt and matching xtx in these synthetics? Speed Way is incredibly nvidia favored.
Because it's clearly not anywhere near 7900xtx performance lol
I think FSR4 will be first on 9000 series and then they will adapt to the previous ones🤞
When should 3rd party reviews for the 50 series come out?
Those coolermaster GPU fans are cool, I if they could just sell those designs along with a 2 fan config too for slim and regular fans specially we now have reversable fans people can experiment airflow configs
Llano was the first APU, based on the Phenom/Athlon of that period.
a $1000 processor from AMD with dual 3D VCACHE should not be an issue. Hell, the QX series from Intel barely had any advantage over the non QX model back in the day and they for that much.
I don't think that the CoolerMaster solution is as innovative as the 2 slot cooler on the 5090 FE
Yo if AMD intends to undercut the 5070 ti with 9070 XT pricing and if it gives 4080 performance in raster it will be a pretty sweet deal
Participated in the Adaxum presale today. Super smooth process and incredible potential rewards!
If so, the 9070 XT is 10% slower than the 7900 XTX there
However it might be cherry picked. It might just be around 7900 XT performance on average, but happens to do well in BO6.
Seems like getting a 7900XTX a year ago for €1000 was a very good choice still
I'm really keen on upcoming APUs i'm done building rigs with expensive dGPUs for 1440p games hoping they'll release an APU that's equivalent to my current GPU the RX 6800
In his last video, "derbauer" completely rebuilt the 5090 FE in 3 CAD and it's really crazy how expensive the cooler alone has to be.
Why couldnt we get a 5080 with 16k cuda cores, 5070ti with 10k, 5070 with 8k?
End of January should be interesting. What will be the price of that AMD card.
If 9070xt is as fast as 7900xtx, there will be no way in hell it costs less than 699$
Zero chance , it will barely be on par with the 7900xt
Can we take a minute to realize how GREAT the RX6800XT/RX6800 were at launch? (Sadly. overshadowed by the "scalper pandemic" chip shortage and Crypto.)
About HALF the price of the previous flagship 2080ti 11GB
With 50% MORE VRAM
And 12% and 25% FASTER than the 2080ti (6800/6800XT, respectively)
AND keep in mind this was the SAME 7nm Process node as the previous Gen 5700XT RDNA1 and even Radeon 7 (non-RDNA architecture)
These gains ON THE SAME NODE at that price were UNREAL. $650 for a card that STILL holds up amazing at 1440p and just fine at 4k with upscaling when needed.
Is that the gamesir cyclone 2 in the back?
wonder if the MSI vanguard will be using liquid metal for the die? I know its usually clay based thermal pads for VRMs and such.
Love the shirt. Who's artwork is that? And where can I get one?
Strixnhalo tech can make future consoles as powerful as modern mid range builds. Pretty crazy lol
I think this is last generation of GPU that go in the case. I think they will be external and the motherboard with a PCIEX 16 slot on the back of the motherboards soon. The GPU will have it's own case and PSU.
When will the 6000 series release? (estimate)
I bet Nvidia had AI optimize the PCB layout on the 5000 series.
I’m assuming water cooling that Founders Edition 5090 card is gonna be a no. 😮
What do you think about the AI frame generation that Nvidia is putting in on this series of card, and its specific call out for certain AI models, could we be seeing Nvidia with the 50 series card and the prevalence of frame generation in game dev that there will be a force adoption to Nvidia architecture for gaming
4:17 Nactuah, spin on that fan
AMD Does extremely well in Call of Duty games (if we remember at launch the 7900XTX was up with the 4090, and RDNA2 even crushed it)
If the price is right... it could be friggin great.
Sounds good - like new tech always does - I will wait for release and first hand results.
Crazy tech deal I saw today. AMD 7900 XTX $699 on Amazon
7:12 who TF would drive that
Adaxum is definitely one of the rare moonshot projects out there, must check!
AIB's claimed it takes a lot of engineering to make a good cooler and PCB and it is not so easy
Nvidia said hold my beer and has now been the most innovative GPU cooler maker in 2 gens
They should have added GDDR7X For The 5090 like the 4090 has GDD6X
The ADX presale is selling fast for a reason. People are really seeing the value in this project. Can’t wait to see what’s next for Adaxum.
An aftermarket cooler that looks OEM and allows you to use whatever 120mm fans you want? Umm... yes please.
I did get a few of those coupons doing trading card stuff. They were just for random games, most of them i got around like 20-30% off and the games were not too popular i think
9:49 Maybe it’s just the RUclips compression screwing things up, but I’m not sure I see a huge quality difference in the people in the stands.
Watch the original video from hardware unboxed, and the differences night and day, even with the youtube compression and being shown through a camera lens so a further downgrade in quality
There is a massive difference in fsr 4 from that showing. Id give it a rating of the meme of homelander saying "its perfect"
@ Given my video gaming habits (mostly older titles) I don’t think I really care, but if I change my mind I’ll look it up. Thanks!
It's using machine learning so totally different paradigm than previous FSR versions.
Based on the hardware unboxed and digital foundry videos it's as good as any other upscaler to date but need more testing.
Waiting to see some Linux benchmarks for the 9070/xt
When you brought up crafting badges, I was like... oh, you mean those discounts they give you on similar games.... yeah, I never used one
Wait a minute the Rx 9070 XT matches the Rx 7090 xtx in benchmark score that's insane especially if the price is gonna be around 500$
Where can I take part in the giveaway?
1:23 I can't wait for the RTX 5090 XT!!
If you can fit any fan to the cooler master rtx 5090 imagine fitting server fans , it would be incredibly loud but you can over clock the shit out of it.
