I really love this movie but I've still only seen it once. Must must watch it again soon. This is a great Coen Bros film. They really did nail what they were trying to do. And while I am at it, another Oscar Isaac movie I must watch again is Ex Machina.
Personally speaking truly think will be great. Hopes for it be very sucessful its refreshing to see, a beautiful way re-introducing the Folk music world that is so much the beginings contry as well as the of writings of tales and times from lyrics to melodies that came from a time ago.
4:10 - 1. isn't Freewheelin a really obvious reference for a script about a folk musician in New York in the 60's.. and 2. The colour in the end doesn't actually look anything like the cover of Freewheelin! The film is sooo stylised.
I like to think this film is about a person who could have made it out, but was unable to due to his own arrogance and lack of empathy for others. He seemed to only be angry at the world and lash out at others because of it. Even when they would help him despite the fact he was a douche bag. Maybe it's not the world that is stopping us but our own ways.
Edit: Spanish is my first language so maybe there's some grammar mistakes. That makes me think a lot. Because I watched this film for the second time a month ago. The first time was like 4 years ago and it was a different film to me. And this time I thought that he was doing everything he can. But yes. He was very selfish. I think that he has depression. So he couldn't see a lot of things. He was distracted and never focus although he tried in his own way. I think that anyways it was his responsability to fulfill his own dream. And we can notice that in the end when we comeback to the exact same scene that started the film. All was his responsability. He was a douchbag. And you wonder. Did he succeeded after all that? Maybe not.
I pray for the Llewyns of this world.
Best film I've ever seen without a doubt

Hey Oscar Issac, mind if I play the soundtrack on your 1924 gibson l-1?

I'd say the film has that vibe but depending on how old your free wheeling cover is the movie looks a tad more faded
