@@woden_arbosa Well tbf, Biden is technically a conservative in most of the industrialized world. In most of Europe he'd a member of a conservative center-right party. So it doesn't seem surprising that the few intellectually honest Republicans left would vote for him over Trump.
That is the only positive I can think of about Trump winning that election.. It made me realize how much of a detrimental mistake it is to think my vote does not matter.. Especially when it's impacting millions of fellow Americans..
Reich-wing media spends billions to make them that way; but they're not far off to begin with so why does it cost so much?
This lady really does need to read more. Those friends and family members sound like they’re failing her hard (if they’re even real)
Yea, the poor daughter has probably tried to explain it to her over and over but she still votes against the interests of the people she claims to love. Can't handle progressives being stern but has no issue with the hateful rhetoric coming from the right. Double standard on full display. And the way she shuts down when she gets any push back, she speaks her mind and then when they try to respond, "we're at a comedy show" or "I'm not going to get into specifics." It's mind-blowing how their tiny MAGA brains can take any scandalous event in history and blame it on the people they want to hate even when there is absolutely no connection whatsoever.
Well done. I didn’t even make that connection. I was trying to figure out how she managed to create a timeline from a parallel universe. This tells me that wherever she’s getting her news/info from, they consider this an irrefutable fact. I’ve seen similar discussions which have accused Biden of literally the very things Trump has been accused of. The ol’ narcissistic DARVO. Somewhere, someone is cackling with delight at the story they’ve been able to convince huge numbers of.
I was thinking about Princess Diana, who also cheated by the way and wondered where that was going.
This is what I will never understand about some people.
How can people say they support trans people, or gay people, or black people, or homeless people, or people who can get pregnant, or any other disadvantaged group in the US, then turn around and vote people into office who spend their time doing nothing but trying to make the lives of those same people worse?
They can SAY they support vulnerable people because it costs them nothing.
Actually supporting vulnerable people? They don't. They're lying. They don't understand that it costs them nothing as a person to actually help vulnerable populations and in fact we as a society are better off the more we raise up each other. It's embarassing.
They just say that to avoid confrontation by people who actually support marginalized groups, which rarely ever works bc we fkng KNOW they're full of it
Because if it doesn't affect the them directly then they don't see the harm.
First, they don't actively support any causes, they're just not against said causes which counts as supporting them in their mind. Second, they vote for whoever they like the speeches most, not the actual measures taken while in office because they only care about elections during presidential campaigns.
expecting logic from those who vote on feeling is a failing endeavor
It's always a problem when people are very confident about stuff that they have opinions about but no real knowledge of. They have elevated the importance of opinions to the level of actual research and facts. They can no longer make the difference and that is scary.
"This is a COMEDY show!"

Bish owned herself!🤣🤣🤣
The problem with blindly following someone who lies all the time is words start to lose their meaning.
Words literally lose their meaning all the time. Now did I use literally for its literal meaning or to emphasize my point? Case in point.
This doesn't seem like blind following but being increasingly un-introspective and just saying things without thinking it through. She seems like a person who when confronted with being wrong says "that's how I feel" and "lets agree to disagree" but never admits they are wrong or mistaken.
@@louisrobitaille5810 Your example isn’t a demonstration of a word losing its meaning, it’s a demonstration of creating additional meaning. When enough people in society begin to use a word and a new way it does not magically lose its old meaning. You just add another number under the word in the dictionary and write down the new meaning. There are lots of words that have many different meanings. The only way a word could lose its meaning is if it is forgotten entirely.
@@louisrobitaille5810Being pedantic doesn't make you right in this situation.
I'm so confused, how can you be socially progressive, like it sounds like she might, and vote for Trump, who is anything but.
She has trans friends, she has a gay daughter, yet she supports the party that is literally out there promoting active harm to those groups of people.
Conservatives are not socially progressive.
Trump isn’t that socially conservative, but he panders to them.
To be fair we are talking about a political group who’s entire belief system is based around what the media (fox news, facebook, youtube) tells them to believe. Which is why it can morph in real time as you talk to them about it. They have no real beliefs themselves. They wait to be told what to be outraged over and who to vote for. We are talking about people who are told that brown people are dangerous, but its the democrats who are racists. 🤷🏽♂️

Brilliantly handled. The thing I find with Trump supporters that get upset with being “attacked” (whilst in the same breath demonising those on the left) is that as soon as you provide depth to a point about a question they asked, they twist and turn to move away from it as it undermines their loyalty to Trump to engage further with that point (eg the cheating on the wife).
People armed with facts, almost always seem to cause people like her to close off and assume the victim position. Ears close, eyes roll as they try the old "yeah but" or "what about". I like how you handled this. You weren't harsh about her, you recognised the place the question was coming from. did your best to talk to her like you would outside of the dynamic of your show while keeping it light and jokey enough for everybody else there.
Steve, that was a very well articulated response. You genuinely showed compassion and supported her while making the point to research her own ideals.
Applause from Australia 👏
Well done! How she can vote for tRump and be pro-choice is beyond me! 🙄💙✌️
Not to mention having a gay child. Apparently there are people who don't realize that, with drumf, you get the socially regressive republican policies, because he doesn't care who is hurt, as long as he has power.
Its bc in reality she isn't
" Little Britain" circa 1990's ... "Yeah, but no but yeah ..but no but...butt..."
So incredibly funny and necessary to see things like that (helps even more while growing up as long as you understand it) for their satire.
Computer says no.
They REFUSE to even try to comprehend. But it was great entertainment for the rest of us. 💙
Steve did a fantastic job of being compassionate and courteous to this obstinate person and still being hilarious. Such a great guy
Great teaching moment!
I keep rewatching this, This is my favorite clip since the canadian dude with coke in his pocket lol, Im willing to bet that nobody before you has called her out so effectively while still showing compassion. Bravo sir.
Thanks for the smiles & laughs!! I am 60 yrs old now & have voted since my18’th birthday. I was honored to be able to vote for a president 7 days after my birthday. My choice didn’t win but that’s how elections go. If done right .. no one is completely happy or mad.
I’m a constitutionalist.
Being informed takes effort. She is terribly uninformed about progressive and conservative or actual issues. But her Team is "Conservatives" or the "Republican Party." Like you said Steve, she is speaking and thinking in generalizations, and probably doesn't want to look into it too far. She just wants her team to win.
I don't want who I vote for to make me a bad person, so when you say it's bad to vote for hi, I feel bad! Stop making me feel bad for the choices I will make regardless of how it hurts the people I think I care about!
'When was the last conversation you had with a conservative '
'I'm having one right now, and you're demonstrating why I rarely bother'
I am always impressed Steve at how well you are able to articulate and speak to the heart of it while trying to maintain the importance of compassion. Much respect sir.
Kudos for keeping it together and sticking to your point. I'd be off goofing around on her by the second half.
Well put. Really wish I could send this to some of the folks I've known for 20+ years, but many of who, on their own accord, turned a simple discussion into a fist fight and I no longer speak to them due to such.
Well. Freaking. Put.
A fist fight over Trump, the Iraq war or whatever topic? Wow. I can understand some angry words but that's wild.
Send it anyway 😂😂
@@__-e-__ Naw, unlike them, I know how to pick my battles and they aren't worth the stress to continue those relationships.
It's not a matter of winning anything, just being the bigger person. Why would I seriously want to encourage that behavior and re-engage when I've already shut them out of my life and moved on?
@@Antics253 nah you're right, I was a little fired up over something else when I posted that to be honest, and was feeling problematic and instigative. I'd honestly do the same as you 😂
@@__-e-__ Hey, no worries bud! Hope you have a great rest of your evening and a good weekend! 💙
Massive props for simultaneously dunking on her, keeping it light, and giving good informative points should any conservative actually choose to listen instead of hear
“Tolerance doesn’t include tolerance of intolerance…” is f*cking brilliant. ❤❤❤
