Doug absolutely excels in this type of format. Also, the way him and Matt bounce off each other makes for an excellent listening experience. Would love to see more collaboration between them.
He's got 4 million subs. If you don't want him to use any of his increasing budget to improve his content that's just your fetish. Your opinion is annoying to me because there are people who understand that the exposure he gets comes at the expense of other car channels which would actually put their revenue back into their content instead of producing low budget content with a "unique rhythm that works really well". I shouldn't be concerned about your opinions and taste but when you're discouraging the most successful automotive channel from improving then I don't think it's hard to understand why I have a problem with that, considering the fact that a lot of people with 1% of his subs put more effort and budget into their videos.
@@user-ve9tu5rv6e Yeah isn't it great the most successful automotive channel on youtube is producing low budget videos? That's the point of youtube, isn't it? To make content creators able to produce the same low budget content they produced at 1000 subs while pocketing all the additional money. It's just great. You get me? I haven't met a single person in my life who could argue about this, but I've seen millions who are fine with it because they don't understand the bigger picture.
@@アマ-p2l His simple format is nice because it makes it seem non corporate and personal. But I think he could improve his video quality and some color grading.
Yeah, many of us have been watching since he was writing for Jalopnik and the videos were a supplement to his articles. Even as an early RUclipsr he had to rely on viewers’ cars to do video reviews. The low quality content is what we’ve come to expect. Never change Doug!
I'm torn on whether Doug should have is own podcast. Would he show us the quarks and features of the person he's talking to. Would each guest get a Doug score.
Tbh I did a quick double take on the duration but then I launched FH5 and played the video. Doug talking cars for 3 hours is the ideal backdrop, almost like some sort of petrolhead ASMR
I totally absolutely agree. I used to follow Matt Farrell the smoking tite on RUclips. who I used to follow had a podcast, but in my RUclips algorithms, I saw the podcast with Doug DeMuro, and I'm not watching it. It is a very long podcast but Doug DeMuro is the best car reviewer on RUclips in my opinion and that's why I'm watching it!
I was at a cars and coffee in Bryn Mawr PA and someone had their Porsche Carrera GT there and I basically thanked the guy for bringing it out into the wild because I have never seen one in person. That's what I appreciate about true car enthusiasts
Thanks for the feature on our 2003 wrx! One owner with 15k miles traded in to our dealership. It sold back to the original dealership that sold it at shingle springs and will likely be preserved there the manager who sold it said driving it back :). Wild crazy car times we are in. This has been one of the most enjoyable 2+ hours I've ever spent on youtube. Great work Matt and Doug! It really felt like being with y'all in the studio, congrats!
My father also had AML when he was 67 in 2007. His brother was a perfect match and had a stem cell transplant at MSKCC. He is 12 years past his transplant and 81 years old. It was a rough 2-3 years but now he is cured. My father 90 days in the hospital. Great for your brother in law.
I met Jerry Seinfeld at a Rennsport Reunion at Daytona. He could not have been nicer. He told us all about the 356 he had brought to the event. A great experience meeting him.
I love everything about this podcast - the constant return to cars, no matter where you go, and the keeping it real with Doug's fascination with quirky cars. I love when they are going on about $1 million + cars, and Doug brings it back to reality with people having to pay $4000 over sticker for a Rav4 Prime.
It’s crazy to think that two years ago Doug didn’t even think he was gonna get a Carrera GT ever. And he ended up talking about all three cars that he ended up buying in the future.
I randomly walked by Matt on the santa monica pier visiting from NY. He was just strolling with his wife and was super cool. Said hello, mentioned we met at his favorite bar in NYC. But was very cool in both interactions....A lot bigger in person than I thought haha.

Matt, I met you in Lone Pine, CA when you had a Range Rover LWB. I was awkward and couldn't even remember your name, just your face and I have to say Thank you. You showed me the Range Rover and were awesome. I wanted to say thank you for being so cool.
Any youtuber watching this, this is so fn true. You need to use ur audience while you have them loyaly watching and bring them a service or product before ur candle burns out. More less, you cant just keep fully investing ur money in and getting little out, eventually ur will be putting more in than u get. It's funny how Matt thought Doug was annoying until actually meeting him and have a podcast with him, come to find he's one of the most interesting people to talk to, and audiences to listen to.
I love both your channels, but I often have my ADHD get the better of me after a few minutes. This interview was awesome and kept me engaged for all 2.5 hours. Thank you for taking the time to put this one together!

Electric cars and CVT cars are really comfy in traffic, I gotta admit. Specifically they help the driver to dissociate. Also cruising around slowly in silence with no jerkiness is awesome when adventuring someplace new and taking in the scenery.
Honestly, you guys are my first stop when it comes to car reviews from quick, competent street drivers (though, the track videos are always great) and the podcast. I understand that your new series is well done, and it took a lot of work, but I was no more enthusiastic about watching the series than I am about you reviewing a car that's on my radar, as I value your perspective immensely.
The steering wheel yoke is literally a safety issue. In an emergency situation where you need to perform counter oversteer and what not, the yoke is so unsuitable for those actions and it will literally lead to an accident almost every time. Try drifting a car or catching huge oversteer on a sim racing setup where you have the yoke style shape, it leads to crashing the car 9.99 times out of 10. Seriously the dumbest idea to ever come to a car in a long time. And the worst part is the counter argument to that is "it looks cool"
