I could have easily watched another 90 mins of this. Of all the current mega-money machines T50 is the one that I'm most enthusiastic about. The same way I was about F1.
These are the type of interviews that put podcasts on the map. You guys did a killer job really getting a wide breadth of information and opinions out of somebody so iconic. Great job TST!
When I heard about Gordon's appearance at the end of Tuesdays show, I was beyond excited. This episode has been truly fantastic and hearing more about Gordon's true genius has been so interesting! Can't wait to see the T.50 one take. Let's make it happen 👏👏
Thanks Matt , Zack for such an incredible interview ! Gordon Murray has to be the greatest car engineer of our time. I agree with everything Gordon said and he made me remember the best steering mass produced car is the Lotus Elan . Please do a review on your favourite canyon course and you will see what Gordon said about the Elan’s steering.
That was possibly the best podcast to date. And you could tell GM was into it. He was smiling and very animated...something you dont aleays see in his interviews! Great job
Murray, Banks and Dinan. Top three engineering minded guests on the show. Add Harris and Cammisa to the mix and there are the 5 people who I would be happy to listen every single day.
@@jasonosborne5947 I wasn't comparing their fields of workshop, but their passion for engineering and efficiency. And if you see Banks and Dinan only as tuners... well sucks for you.
I found TST through Sung Kang's episode, and have been following from a distance since. Once I saw Gordon Murray was on, I became a try hard fan, making sure I wasn't distracted for the whole hour. You cant find much higher on the must have podcast then the man himself, and yes I could have listened to 2 more hours. What a character, who I can easily see filling a 2.5 hour documentary.
Being an engineer, this is the most interesting interview podcast that I’ve listened to from Matt and Zack! Very engaging and insightful discussion. Loved this episode of TST podcast!
This is the best podcast on this channel to date, to hear professor Gordon laugh and talk about his adventures and achievements was incredible. Thank you for this.
Every aspect of this conversation is incredible. The explanation of that Cosworth motor in the T50 is mind boggling.. Sir Gordon's humility, patience, and ability to communicate is stunning. Thanks for an amazing podcast!! Spectacular.. I cannot imagine how you are going to top this one!
Mark your calendar’s all you folks who’ve been listening since the old house podcast! There’s always been amazing guests but the new studio has put you guys at a new level! Congrats guys
I say this in jest.... How the heck am I supposed to listen to any other interview that you do if it's not up to this standard!!! Incredible interview. WOW!!!!!!!!
Gordon Murray is right about everything, humble and charming. Listening to this made time fly, there could be another three hours of interview and it would keep you hooked
You've hyped this interview so much in podcasts after it and it still lived up to the hype. The speed of his recall is insane his ability to answer questions in such detail so quickly even the way he would work his way from the past forward even if not prompted.
Of some of the most experienced and smart people in the industry you've had on the show, I would absolutely love to see Steve Dinan and Gordon Murray to talk shop and cars in general. I would pay money to sit in a room to just listen to these 2 talk to one another. A black hole would form from the combination of these 2 great minds.
I burst out laughing when he said "they're 600 quid each, but, ummm, they're very light" about the DOOR HANDLES. I'm so happy that a car built to this level of absolute obsessed and focus exists. That was really funny though.
I don't get starstruck, but what a man. I would have had a hard time interviewing Professor Murray, such an awesome perspective. Thanks for the podcast you guys.
This was pure brilliance in guest chats. One of the best ones so far! Thank you and good job Matt and Zack for bringing us mortals this kind of content. 🍻
I still can't believe you got Gordon Murray on. I think the only person who you've had on that understands car design and engineering even close to as much, is Steve Dinan!
Brilliant episode guys. You clearly enjoyed talking with him and it seemed like the living legend quite enjoyed chatting with you guys too. Crazy to me that at the time of writing this there's not even 17k views, when the main channel has a million+ subscribers though.
That was incredible. Well done Matt & Zack! You asked some really interesting and unusual questions which clearly got Murray excited and involved, not just the usual stuff that most journalists ask. This and Harry Metcalfe's interviews are the two best I've seen with him. I love Gordan's philosophy to cars and engineering and even though I'll probably never see one of his creations, let alone drive or own one, I'm so glad they exist.
Matt n Zack...I believe this is the best interview ever that the Master Professor has had! You paced the talk that was totally genuine and genius. Wish I could give this a 1000 likes. Next question from my mind is why doesn't GMA release a video every 2 days? The stress of waiting. ...
Guys, what an absolutely perfect interview. I really enjoyed it from start to finish. Nice to see you speaking the same language with him, something that I never saw from other interviewers. Love the podcast, keep them coming
About 10 years ago I built a mini wind tunnel in which I was trying to test the difference in wind resistance of a model F150 with and without a curved wedge topper on it. I made an L shaped lever from cardboard that was pressing down on a small kitchen scale. I got it to the point at which the wind pressure was enough to generate pressure slightly on the scale. I needed a stronger fan and maybe the tunnel itself was too small in diameter. I still have the model F150 with my hand made topper on it.
What a great chat with Gordon Murray! Totally agree with his philosophy of ample power with great handling and low weight. It’s the opposite of these giant overpowered super cars in production today, and the Achilles Heel that kills EV’s as enjoyable performance cars
Thanks for this great podcast and letting us tune in to an hour with the legend himself. Hearing his insight to manufacturing light weight cars with the goal of optimizing driving feel no matter the cost is inspiring. One of the better podcasts you’ve done and I’ve been through some classics.
One of my life goals is to see in person a McLaren F1. I live in Stillwater Minnesota in case anyone around here has one. I don’t have the money to fly anywhere to see one.
Same here mate. I saw 1 here in the UK back in the 90s.... but not since. The fact that they go for 21 million now, in original condition, is to thank for that.
I am jealous of the students in the classes this man teaches. The knowledge seems to just pour out of him. Hopefully he has some young minds following him around to keep this mentality alive for the next generation!
The best episode by far this 2022! Will give it a repeat listen. Thank you Matt and Zack for the great hosting. Excellent questions from both of you. I love how Matt has improved on letting the guest finish their thought or maybe Gordon has the Jerry Seinfeld effect where in when they talk, you listen. Still waiting on Harry Metcalfe guesting and hoping it can be longer than this.
That was a masterclass level chat with a truly inspiring genius. A million thanks fellas, SUPER GUEST!!!
This has to be one of if not THE best TST Podcast ever
I think you can mark this as the day you guys made it, having Gordon Murray is a big deal. Wow, congrats!
Doesn't get much better then this, good job guys
Wow... Pod has gotten big enough to have automotive royalty on. Congrats Matt & Zack.
This podcast has come so far, now chatting with Gordon Murray himself. Just amazing.
Alois Ruf was another amazing guest.
When I heard about Gordon's appearance at the end of Tuesdays show, I was beyond excited. This episode has been truly fantastic and hearing more about Gordon's true genius has been so interesting!
Can't wait to see the T.50 one take. Let's make it happen 👏👏
I'm so glad I occasionally remember to flick through the backlog, this is a rare gem of an interview.
Love Gordon's approach to everything!
This is by FAR the best automotive podcast I have EVER watched.... And Ive watch LOTS!.... Guy is a mastermind
I wasn't looking forward to a zoom show, at first, but Gordon is SO driven and fanatical, it's inspiring. 10/10 pod.
Gordon Murray is my automotive hero. Incredible interview.

an all time legend, not just of British cars, but world car culture, and so humble and unassuming.
I'm normally an audio only listener of your podcast, but I had to come here to say this was an excellent interview! Thanks fellas.
Murray, Banks and Dinan. Top three engineering minded guests on the show. Add Harris and Cammisa to the mix and there are the 5 people who I would be happy to listen every single day.
Murray and Banks arguing over turbos haha Harris and Cammisa just sitting there taking notes
@@NXT_LVL these guests could never mix. It would be like putting 6 fine meals in a bucket, shaking it and then trying to consume with a serving spoon.
Banks and Dinan are nothing compared to Gordon Murray.
They tune cars Gordon makes cars.
@@jasonosborne5947 I wasn't comparing their fields of workshop, but their passion for engineering and efficiency. And if you see Banks and Dinan only as tuners... well sucks for you.
I would add Rod Emory, Johnathan Ward to the list and replace Cammisa with Sam Smith from R&T..........

This is the best Murray interview I’ve seen - great insight into the man
Being an engineer, this is the most interesting interview podcast that I’ve listened to from Matt and Zack! Very engaging and insightful discussion. Loved this episode of TST podcast!
Man these podcasts are pretty much the pinnacle of car chat, can't get enough!

Could listen to Gordon speak for hours, what a legend. Great podcast, thanks guys.
Achievement unlocked! Well done!
These stories of cost conscious/diy tool design and fabrication are inspiring.
I say this in jest....
How the heck am I supposed to listen to any other interview that you do if it's not up to this standard!!! Incredible interview. WOW!!!!!!!!
Such a wholesome chap!
The most natural interview with Gordon that I have seen! You guys should be proud.
We're not worthy! What a class act. Thank you Matt for having Gordon on the show.
Gordon Murray is right about everything, humble and charming. Listening to this made time fly, there could be another three hours of interview and it would keep you hooked
Outstanding! Murray never disappoints. Great interview all round.
Tremendous. Mr Murray is an automotive "hero" of mine and any time we can here him speak is a treat. Thanks Matt and crew.
Last time I was this early Matt had chops and a c5.
You've hyped this interview so much in podcasts after it and it still lived up to the hype. The speed of his recall is insane his ability to answer questions in such detail so quickly even the way he would work his way from the past forward even if not prompted.
Matt and Zack did it. Great episode
Shout out to the man who might actually right the enthusiast side of automotive manufacturing, Sir Gordon Murray
Of some of the most experienced and smart people in the industry you've had on the show, I would absolutely love to see Steve Dinan and Gordon Murray to talk shop and cars in general. IMHO Horacio Pagani is just as obsessed with quality and engineering in his cars, WITHOUT adding unnecessary technology.
Imagine having a beer with this guy
Thank you for keeping it light and fun. Well done.
One of the most enjoyable interviews you and Zack have ever done.... really good
I don't get starstruck, but what a man. I would have had a hard time interviewing Professor Murray, such an awesome perspective. Thanks for the podcast you guys.

I can’t believe this channel only has like 50k subscribers.. c’mon RUclips. Stop hatin
Brilliant episode guys.
You clearly enjoyed talking with him and it seemed like the living legend quite enjoyed chatting with you guys too.
Crazy to me that at the time of writing this there's not even 17k views, when the main channel has a million+ subscribers though.
GM is on another level. What an interview!
That was the best interview with him I've heard.
This man will never be replaced. That was so good.

This is one heavyweight guest. Screw the Patreon questions. Great work and a great podcast guys.
Outstanding job, asking the right questions to keep Gordon interested was brilliant. I don't think I've seen him laugh so much in another interview.
Well done lads. One of your best podcasts
You gotta mention Koenigseggs during interview not after Folks. That is my only complaint, it was awesome. Love the 7mm bolt for the Clutch..
Matt n Zack...I believe this is the best interview ever that the Master Professor has had!

So glad you didn't take the "who is Gordon Murray for dummies" approach like EVERY other interviewer does!
Guys, what an absolutely perfect interview. I really enjoyed it from start to finish. Nice to see you speaking the same language with him, something that I never saw from other interviewers. Love the podcast, keep them coming
this show was worth like 75$ a ticket wow what an opportunity! thanks for sharing!
T.50 review will be LEGENDARY!
This was a great listen. Matt's style of interviewing doesn't always work with every guest, but I think it got the best out of Gordon Murray here.
Murray is a fucking LEGEND... this might be the best auto podcast ever recorded.
This was phenomenal. Gordon is such an inspiration, and it was a pleasure to watch this interview. You two ask great questions.
Walked into this like going to a buffet , thought I was gonna hate it but surprisingly there was enough there to really like, great job both of you!
That post pod chat was gold.
Wow! We got a real treat on this podcast!
I have never looked forward to a TST podcast MORE,
Hope this means you'll get more guests of this caliber but this is pretty fcking hard to TOP

What a great conversation this was to watch/listen to. Absolutely fantastic.
Gordon is a God, Colin Chapman mindset of light is might but engineered. Hence why he owns a few classic Lotus.
Gordon is a legend and such a Swiss army knife of an engineer and designer.
An absolute joy to listen to one of the great minds of the industry we're so passionate about
Legend is a massive understatement.
This interview is AWESOME! I learned all kinds of things I didn't know from other interviews that Mr. Murray had designed and done. Cool as hell.
53:12 Gordon just did that as a tribute to "Spinal Tap". 😅🍾🏁
-This was the best of the recent Gordon Murray/T50 interviews that I've heard.
One of the best podcast. Please try to bring Christian Von Koenigsegg next 😊
My biggest takeaway from this is that Gordon Murray is an extraordinarily handsome man. Sheesh
He’s aged as well as his cars
So much greatness here, but 59:13 is priceless 🤣

Just getting your hands on those 90s supercars must have been insanely hard...let alone beating them!
fascinating listen here. Thanks for the episode
I would love to see Gordon Murray's version of a sub $100k sports car.
