@GordonMurrayAutomotive 11:00 bro, are you really that out of touch with the inward thinking happening in the UK? bhahahaha guess when you're so far up downing streets piss hole you'll make yourself believe whatever you want, seems the 60's south african mindset has travelled with you over the pond
Mr Murray I knew you are from SA but never knew that you a Durban boytjie like myself. Well done on all the achievements Sir. Jodie, thank you for the most brilliant interviews of iconic masters in the world (Clarkson voice)
I loved doing this interview with Gordon! I hope you all enjoyed it! Gordon has designed some iconic cars over the years; which is your favourite? Road & race! 👇
I'd sound clichéd to go F1 its epic and represents so much. But the T50 can be all the things the F1 couldn't be due to technological advances. I truly hope it gets a run out on the Ring and smashes the record.
Take a road car to LeMans and win outright. The stuff of dreams, pure fantasy surely...You can't make it up. Yet we have the F1 LM as evidence as the greatest achievement in motorsport history. That seals it's recognition as the GOAT.
The McLaren F1 for me as it was a game changer in supercars & to me was the first hypercar. How I yearn to win huge on the Euromillions as I'll be hunting one down to own myself.
I've listened to interviews with Gordon on and off for about 30 years. I could still listen to him talk all day about cars, engineering and his rationale in design. His accounts of his personal and professional relationships are just as fascinating to me. Thanks again, Jodie!
After seeing many interviews with the Professor , this one gave me goosebumps & a lump in my throat at times. Gordon Murray is one of my heroes as well whom I greatly admire for many reasons. This was a very relaxed chat to listen to with some really nice extra details to Gordon's back story and watching this has made my day 🤗, Thank you Jodie and Gordon. I cannot wait till you go back to drive T.50 & T.33 in the future. Singling out a favourite is difficult as all of Gordon's creations are amazing but Favourite Road car : Mclaren F1, Rocket and upcoming T.50/T.33, Race cars: F1 GTR .
With out a doubt Nigel mansel and Gordon Murray interviews are the best so far what a brilliant interviewer you are, what a guy Gordon Murray is,I’m very impressed that he came from nothing which from my point view what made him so great he came from working class background nothing can match hunger and focus to succeed in life, well done Jodie keep good work up
Fantastic job, Jodie! Gordon is one of my heroes too. You didn't miss anything. First class. Did he promise you a drive for us in either the T50 or T33??😀
It's very motivating to see that even in his late 70's 'Gordon has drive, enthusiasm and plans for the future. Most people by the time they hit 45 are burnt out and just thinking of retirement. This interview has motivated me to keep going..
Well, you've done it yet again...I was so absorbed with GM's life story (so far), I felt like I was there in the room. Where did that hour go? One cannot be anything other than in awe of such an inspirational man. Thanks to you as always.
Remember meeting mr Murray when I was 11, back in 1987 at a neighbours house. I’d been a massive F1 fan for a few years and I remember my parents asking me if I knew who he was on the way round. He was ace, humouring an 11 year old kid on a rare Sunday off! Very humble guy and will always remember meeting him. Kudos to the guy as he clearly still has great taste in shirts and very humble. F1 all the way for road, though can’t wait to hear what his new cars are like - race car wise, couldn’t choose between F1 cars but the F1 Le Mans car was amazing story. Jodie, really enjoyed this interview, you’re channel is really going from strength to strength.
Such an amazing guy. Had the incredible luck of being invited to his birthday party when I was working for McLaren years ago. He was really nice and talking with everybody (he even explained a bit of the concept behind his design for the Batmobile model that was in display). Also the studio was open so we could go around and check all the cars he and his team have been designing for all these years (he managed to get a lot of special and classic cars borrowed for the event so there was essentially a whole timeline there). And then when I was leaving, I picked up my jacket from reception and I forgot the celebratory pin he gave away to everyone there, on the counter. But when I was approaching the exit I felt a tap on my shoulder and it was him, with the pin on his hand, telling me I forgot it at the reception 😮! I took it, thanked him and told what an honor it had been. He smiled in a really humble way and thanked me as well for having joined the party. And of course my McLaren colleagues laughed afterwards a lot because of my distraction (which at least allowed me to get to know Gordon Murray personally 😊) It was an amazing night indeed.
@@KiddinaSweetShop No worries! Just reminiscing on my time in the UK and working at the MTC in Woking. Those were crazy good times (and I do miss the people from our team). Thanks! He sure is xx
Another wonderful interview. Your relaxed style just seems to open people up to tell all. Mr Murray seems to be such a composed gentleman. I have seen many interviews with Mr. Murray, this is by far the best one. The man is a genuine genius. On a final note: you looked great getting out of that SLR! Love the sweater, looks fantastic on you. Another great video and a fine way to pass the time. Thanks for sharing.
Haha thank you so much Edwin! Appreciate it xx
Loveliest lady on the whole internet, and a bloody good driver too!
Wonderful interview.
IMO the McLaren Mercedes SLR Is the best-looking car ever! Beautiful! Timeless! thanks for great content as always.
Gorgeous car xx
What an absolutley fantastic interview Jodie, thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. To hear things from a designers perspective is much more interesting as it's these types of people that deserve all the credit as without their ideas nothing would be possible. The way Gordon explained complex processes in a simple manner made me want to hear more & more. Thank you so much Jodie for this episode of KIASS, one of the best yet & can't wait for more.
Aw thanks so much xx
Gordon Murray is the Jordan Peterson of engineering. Incredible guy 😎👍

Yet another very interesting episode, you must have the best contact book in the world! His life history is as interesting as his automotive history, just wish I could afford something from his back catalogue!
