- In this video you will see how I'm making three marionettes - inspired by three actors / movie characters. The puppet making process is long and demanding, although in the video it seems like I have done it very quickly :). The video is about 7 minutes long and I really, very much appreciate every single viewing and watching the video till the end. Thank you!

Je suis très impressionnée de la ressemblance avec les acteurs et que dire des vêtements que vous confectionnez vous-même, vous avez beaucoup de talent et de générosité de nous partager vos secrets de confection. Vous êtes une inspiration pour moi. J'ai déjà bâti un théâtre de marionnettes qui était intégré au théâtre, il était séparé d'un rideau qu'on ouvrait et fermait au moment de présenter les sketchs de marionnettes. C'était très divertissant! Je n'avais aucune formation, juste la passion. Je commençais par souffler un ballon, je faisais de la colle avec de la farine et de l'eau, ensuite je trempais des bandes de papier journal dans la colle que je plaçais sur le ballon et ainsi de suite en formant les traits du visage. Ça donnait des têtes plus grosses que nature que je suspendais au bout d'un manche à balai et ensuite j'installais des épaules en carton à travers le bâton. Je pouvais utiliser des robes ou des chemises pour les habiller. L'acteur, étant à genoux, tenait le bâton de la main gauche et glissait sa main droite dans le vêtement. Il utilisait sa voix et ses mains pour animer la marionnette qui était visible jusqu'à la taille. Peut-être qu'un jour j'aurai l'occasion de refaire du théâtre, mais pour l'instant je regarde ce que les autres font. C'est très inspirant de voir que cet art est encore vivant et ça c'est grâce à des personnes comme vous. Merci beaucoup!
Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm glad you found my video inspiring. I have never tried to make life-sized puppets (or even bigger). We have a small family theater with marionettes that are slightly smaller than the ones in this video, so they are easy to perform with. Have a wonderful day :)

Vo vnútri hlavy je drevené jadro, na ktoré najskôr vymodelujem základnú lebku - na toto používam papierovú hmotu (skartovaný novinový papier namočený a zmiešaný s vodou riediteľným lepidlom a škrobom). Keď táto základná lebka úplne vyschne (trvá to minimálne týždeň), až potom na to modelujem konkrétnu tvár, tentokrát už používam kúpenú modelovaciu hmotu (ktorá schne na vzduchu)

Thank you so much! To make a head I first create a wooden core (which is inside the head) and then I use shredded paper mixed with water, water-based glue and starch powder to form a basic skull / basic shape of a head. The shredded paper is cheap and light, and when squeezed well, it can be very solid and firm. That’s why I use it to form a base. Once this base is completely dry and rock-hard, I sculpt the face features using an air-drying sculpting clay (I used Holzmaché, but it is no longer available, so I started using La Doll clay).

Neuvěřitelné - muzu se zeptat jak jste se k tomu dostala/naučila?
Marionety ma naučila vyrábať moja mamka, ktorá má bábkové divadlo a hráva už od môjho detstva - na jej bábkových rozprávkach som vyrastala, aj keď do samotnej výroby marionet som sa ja pustila až v dospelosti. Postupne som tiež začala objavovať nové materiály a vylepšovať postup výroby, takže teraz si radíme navzájom a venujeme sa tomuto remeslu spoločne :)
Krásný příběh - inspirovala jste mě! Už jsem asi tak 10x viděla Váš kurz na skillshare a mám v plánu obnovit a opravit naše rodinné domácí divadlo po prapradedovi! Dekuju Vám moc! Jste neskutečná! Jediné co jsem zatím nevykoumala jsou poměry těla loutky a hlavy 😅 ale asi nějak naměřím originály (27 cm vysoké) a zkusím to nějak vypočítat. Ještě jednou díky za sdílení téhle krásy!

Pokiaľ ide o pomer hlavy a tela, hlavy robím vždy o čosi väčšie ako je bežný pomer u človeka, marioneta vtedy pôsobí milšie, teda aspoň z môjho pohľadu. Taktiež závisí od toho, či robím bábku detskej alebo dospelej postavy - pri deťoch robím hlavu oproti telu ešte väčšiu. Držím Vám palce pri obnove Vášho rodinného divadielka a prajem krásny deň :)

do you use clay?
Yes, I use air-drying clay, but first I form a basic skull (there is a wooden core inside) using shredded paper mixed with water, white-glue and starch powder. It is cheaper and much lighter than clay. When this basic skull is fully dry, I use air-drying clay to form face features.
Uplna parada! Co je to za hmotu? Ak je to ten klasicky na vzduchu tvrdnuci matros, tak by som neveril, ze toto by z toho bolo mozne stvorit.
