DIY KIT - Marionette
This video will show you how to assemble ready-made body and controller parts (from the DIY KIT) and create a marionette. The kit contains the head (with a universal child's face) and all body and controller parts with pre-drilled holes, as well as metal fasteners, strings and the Assembly Instructions. All you need to have (which is not included) is a screwdriver, pliers and superglue. You can also transform this basic body into something unique, by painting, creating a wig, and dressing the marionette in an outfit that you choose. Enjoy the process and have fun creating your marionette! :) You can find the kit here: www.etsy.com/listing/1224018538/marionette-diy-kit?click_key=4baf721749...

Two Little Girls - Marionette Making Process
Просмотров 60 тыс.3 года назад
Two little friends, Saška and Eliška. This short video summarizes the process of making these marionettes. It took me more than a month to create them, even though the video is just 5 minutes long. Thank you so much for watching!
How I Make My Puppets

In this video you will see how I'm making three marionettes - inspired by three actors / movie characters. The puppet making process is long and demanding, although in the video it seems like I have done it very quickly :). The video is about 7 minutes long and I really, very much appreciate every single viewing and watching the video till the end. Thank you! To see more of my work you can visi...

This marionette represents the TV character 'Sister Mary Clarence' (Whoopi Goldberg) from the Sister Act movie (1992). In this video I am forming her head, trying to capture her typical smile, painting and coloring her face to make the puppet look like real Whoopi. There are some photos of the finished puppet at the end of this video as well as in my gallery. To see more of my work you can visi...
Puppet Portrait of Charlie Sheen

This is a puppet portrait of the famous actor Charlie Sheen, or, better said, Charlie Harper - a TV character from Two and a Half Men sitcom, because at the end of this video you can see the finished puppet wearing the typical Charlie Harper's outfit. I replaced the material which my heads used to be made from (as you could see in Dr. House video) by the new one - it's better for working. It ha...

      Hi, to make a head I first create a wooden core (which is inside the head) and then I use shredded paper mixed with water, water-based glue and starch powder to form a basic skull / basic shape of a head. The shredded paper is cheap and light, and when squeezed well, it can be very solid and firm. That’s why I use it to form a base. Once this base is completely dry and rock-hard, I sculpt the face features using an air-drying sculpting clay (I used Holzmaché, but it is no longer available, so I started using La Doll).

      @Barbora.Mihokova 10 месяцев назад

      To make a head I use several different materials. There is a wooden core inside each head, then papier-maché layer - as a basic skull (shredded paper mixed with water and starch powder), and an air-drying sculpting clay on top - the facial features are sculpted out of this clay. I always sculpt in layers - I let one layer fully dry and then add another. For hands I use paperclips as a core and then air-drying clay to form the hands

      Hi, I had created only a limited number of these kits, to see if people are interested in them at all, before creating larger amount. I'm currently most focused on puppet performances. After I gather some customer feedback on my kits and also improve the process of creating them (I don't have a workshop yet, I make them at home), I will consider making another batch :)

    Vos marionnettes sont superbes! Je suis très impressionnée de la ressemblance avec les acteurs et que dire des vêtements que vous confectionnez vous-même, vous avez beaucoup de talent et de générosité de nous partager vos secrets de confection. Vous êtes une inspiration pour moi. J'ai déjà bâti un théâtre de marionnettes qui était intégré au théâtre, il était séparé d'un rideau qu'on ouvrait et fermait au moment de présenter les sketchs de marionnettes. C'était très divertissant! Je n'avais aucune formation, juste la passion. Je commençais par souffler un ballon, je faisais de la colle avec de la farine et de l'eau, ensuite je trempais des bandes de papier journal dans la colle que je plaçais sur le ballon et ainsi de suite en formant les traits du visage. Ça donnait des têtes plus grosses que nature que je suspendais au bout d'un manche à balai et ensuite j'installais des épaules en carton à travers le bâton. Je pouvais utiliser des robes ou des chemises pour les habiller. L'acteur, étant à genoux, tenait le bâton de la main gauche et glissait sa main droite dans le vêtement. Il utilisait sa voix et ses mains pour animer la marionnette qui était visible jusqu'à la taille. Peut-être qu'un jour j'aurai l'occasion de refaire du théâtre, mais pour l'instant je regarde ce que les autres font. C'est très inspirant de voir que cet art est encore vivant et ça c'est grâce à des personnes comme vous. Merci beaucoup!
