Learn how to make a wedding cake in this three part wedding cake recipe series. In this part, I will show you how to decorate a wedding cake with ribbon and flowers.
Part 1: • How to Make a Wedding ...
Part 2: • How to Make a Wedding ...
Materials:
• Three tiered cake (see Part One and Part Two)
• 1 1/2" polyester pink ribbon
• 4 large artificial pink Roses
• small pink artificial Hydrangeas
• artificial greenery
• vanilla buttercream
Procedure:
1. Cut ribbon lengths as follows: 33"-10" cake, 27"-8" cake, 20"-6" cake.
2. Wrap each ribbon length around the base of the cakes, ensuring that the ribbon is along the bottom of each tier. Use small amounts of buttercream to "glue" the ribbon to the cake.
3. Place greenery between the bottom and middle tier in desired location. Place one large rose in the centre of the greenery and two small hydrangea pieces on either side of the rose.
4. Repeat placement of roses, greenery and hydrangeas in desired locations between tiers.
5. Place a collection of greens, roses and hydrangeas on top of the cake if there is no topper to be placed there.
6. The cake can be placed in the fridge until it is ready for delivery time. It is best to not have the cake sit out more than an hour or two prior to the cake being served and eaten.

How to Make a Wedding Cake: Wedding Cake Decorating (Part 3)
#weddingcake #cakedecorating #cakedesign #wedding
Are u making this for a wedding or nah
So they have to eat wood!!!???
she said bake the cake so its not wood my chopp Alfredo Hernandez
Alfredo Hernandez Yes of course, they will eat wood. They will cut it into pieces and eat it.
ive relized leave me alone goodbye i dont even like u or know u *****
FYI if using a satin ribbon with buttercream frosting you should put something like waxpaper behind the ribbon, the oil in the butter cream will seep into the satin unless it is kept cold all the time.
Thank you!
I loved this series of videos, from the baking to the decorating. For a few months now, I have been decorating dummy cakes. Now, I'm going to attemp to bake, torte, fill and stack a wedding cake! These videos were just wonderful, thank you for your enthusiastic attitude and the 'sweet' tutorials!!! -Tracie
Hi Jen. For those on a budget you can also cut short pieces of straws and insert them into the cake to put the live flowers into instead of the spikes. I also use the straws with my gumpaste flowers so I don't have the wires coming into direct contact with the cake.
redhotsweetpotatoe thanks. Wouldnt have thought of that one.
But if I poke the straw, will it go through the cardboard?
I LOVE that you didn't use fondant
I know! I was thinking the same!!

NICE VIDEOS I LIKE SO MUCH HOW YOU EXPLAIN THEM. THANKS FOR YOU TIME.
I love to bake and cook. So I had thought about making my own wedding cake, now Im sure!
what kind of prep do you need to do before using fake flowers? I assume you must clean them first.
My exact thought
i like how you did it
It looks beautiful
I like all of your videos
Sometimes I think: “what if I actually made this”
Thanks for the tutorial. I entered the giveaway and said that with all those things i would have recreated my parents wedding cake. Even though I do not win it I made it for them. I made the decoration different because their cake was different and the loved it. Thanks for the info on teiring and baking the cakes although i dont know why i am watching part three if this wont be that useful for me. Thanks
Love it!
WOuld you mind making a turtle baby shower cake? I need to make one next month and I would love your idea! !
Awesome videos!! This looks so sweet, i would prefere the real roses, but this looks lovely too.
Hi!
Question...how about the two layer cake should i just follow the midle and the top layer only?or i will add 2 to 3 stick on top?
Nice... thanks..... and God bless you
Thank you so much 💓 💗
Amazing sister love u lot from India.
You make that look easy. Made a slightly leany wedding cake once. The thing stood though and tasted good, the 2 most important parts of making a wedding cake. You have a lot more practice than I did though.
I love these tutorials. Have you ever used laced chocolate instead of ribbon?
I have never baked a wedding cake before, but I love crafts and baking.. I just love your technique, I think it's super easy, well you make it look so easy hahaha perhaps, it wont be so much for me. I will try to make it as gorgeous as you did. I would like to use fresh flowers, I'm just concern if they could poison the cake, which flowers would you recommend, that are ok to use??
is your vanilla butter cream easily hardens or not? cos its like a fondant cake icing.thanks.
Oh i got this part. But can you please tell me how to make fondant icing
Your videos are really helpful. ☺🙄😊
Amazing!
the all 3 parts are owsome
How much of your vanilla icing did you use for this cake? Thank you in advance.
First off; I LOVE this tutorial!!! Thank you so much for creating it :D
You say in pt 1 it doesn't matter what cake mix you use, does this still apply if the base layer is rainbow cake (and possibly taller than tier 2+3 because of the many layers)? If you had a 3 tier cake but also wanted a heavier topper how would you balance this? E.g I want to make a 3 tier cake with a "hulk" marzipan fist on the top, what the best way to balance this? Glue it with lots of icing? dowel? Thanks again :)
Great videos! I am going to attempt my own in a couple weeks! I am GF due to celiac and it’s nearly impossible to find someone to make one.
Its beautiful...
Wow it's awesome and delicious
love it!
I love your videos
Loved the 3 part videos. I want to make my son a 3 tier rescue bots cake and these videos will help so much!! But I do have one question what if you want to cover each tier with fondant? Would it be the same thing when your layering them?
you are sooo AWESOME!!!
Sierra Longname Thanks so much!
no thank you for having such amazing ideas! :D
I love ur chanel!!! I like the way you demonstrate...may I know the good recipes of vanilla cakes and chocolate cakes thanks god bless u
Beautiful
Very pretty results. I LoVe that it's NOT covered in fondant.
I am going for the untraditional way of watching, by watching Part 3 first, then Part 2, then Part 1. So, be prepared for all the very annoying questions of "HOW DID YOU DO THAT PART" that is answered in parts 1 or 2. bwahaha
I'm just kidding, of course. Back to the video. But first impression is, that's gorge. Okay.
First stupid question that has been answered in part 2. Did you use something under each cake? Looks like I see something like a doilie. But you did say something that I think I missed. I'm slightly distracted. But hey! It's the age of digital distraction, yo!
I like those peonies. A lot.
OOOOH I saw in the background another cake that was probably part 2. So, did you make three entire cakes? Because in the opening, I also saw the cakes in the pans, along with the completed cake.
I'm always amazed, Jenn, at how much time and effort you put into each one of your creations. I don't know that people "get" that. One days perhaps you will do only a behind the scenes reel of what exactly goes on to make a video.
Okay, thanks, bye.
I'll save you the work of the other two videos....it's a cake board between each tier (foil covered cardboard)...made two 6", two 8" and two 10" cakes stacked them up, and decorated them. Thank you for being my friend Beth!!!!!
Cookies Cupcakes and Cardio LOL!! Too late ;)
I am thinking the trash can was happy or a LOT of people in your life were very happy with the amount of cake. I want to make cupcakes today for mom, but of the 30 it says it makes, 2 will go, maybe 3. Ugh.
Great job
Do you use it for a wedding or do you eat su much cake? ( i hope for a wedding, it looks very pretty).
I am super late finding these tutorials but I will be making this same cake for my Mom’s 60th at the end of June. I plan on doing this exactly as you have but with different flavors and decor. How tall should I expect this cake to be?
ohh I loved the video it was awesome!
Jenn you are really very creative! ;-)
could u make a video on how to cut the cake? thank you
mizdaisuki I'll add that suggestion to the list. Thanks!
hi..I am watching your video now
right!! with all those sticks and fake stuff on the cake...Cutting it is not going to be pretty...
Not to mention the cardboard...
salahhe I take the cake off layers hello
Dear jen, I've seen almost all of your vids but did u ever made a mango cake? I am very eager to learn about the cake.
like it, thank you.
Hi Jenn....your videos are so helpful.....I have only made one wedding cake in my life, a 3 tier and thought I'd lose my mind from fear of it falling apart when transporting......I will be making a 3 tier wedding cake in about 3 weeks....Do you have any tips for transporting wedding cakes? Any advice is so helpful....Thanks :)
A great flower to use on the top tier is an Antique Hydrangea. It is big, but not ostentatious
Can u tell me the nMe of steel u use to transfer the cake? I want to buy
what do you base your cake pans with so they won't stick to the cake pan? do you use crisco and then flour or what kind of spray?
+Valencia Bailey I find that the best non stick method to use on pans is to add some flour to Crisco, mix it up and rub it into your pans. Works way better than pan spray.
a good trick I learned from Jen on this channel is to cut wax paper to the size of the bottom of the pan. then spray the bottom of the pan in Pam or some other butter spray. this helps keep the wax paper in place but also keeps it from sticking to the pan. then place the wax paper in, smooth it down, spray with more spray and add your mix. after the cake has been baked, you can use a knife around the edges to seperate the cake from the sides of the pan then it should just release pretty easily. I've tried this and it really works, I promise.
You should do a watermelon baby carriage tutorial!!!😋
How long does the butter creme last sitting out? Do you need to refrigerate the cake say you make the day before the wedding? I'm assuming so.
Michaley Sample You need to keep the cake in the fridge for as long as possible before serving it.
