- My computer decided that my eyes deserve a better FPS than the recording software. Black Mesa does not perform this bad. Also, if you use a gun on the HEV suit blue sparks come out. I used the melee because my ears deserved to not die.

I mean if you hear the hl2 zombies sounds in reverse then you'll find out that they're asking for help and when you kill the poison zombie you can hear faintly laugh because you saved him from that torture
@@bluespy377 You're not wrong about the Poison Zombie in terms of lore, but *technically* speaking almost all of the moaning and wheezing it does are all donkey sounds, believe it or not. Which is actually kind of hilarious.

Actually the user would be dead. Since the headcrab would instantly disconnect due to the helmet. It can't control and ejects. And if you remember. If a headcrab dies/ejects from his host. The host will die.

Not really sure how the voice system got this messed up just because the host became zombified, but I liked these zombies a lot. Would have liked if the HEV suit just constantly blathered out SOS/rescue signals, listing all the horrible fractures and injuries and missing vital signs of the host.
But hey, good to know it's not just Gordon who is missing a helmet.
maybe the suit got broken in the chest zone where is the voice thing. Because in normal zombies is that area that gets open like a big mouth and they eat through it.

Actually, if you take the head crab off the HEV host, their helmet is there, just In half. It reveals the brain of the host. That’s why you never wear a helmet while wearing an HEV suit. You can wear a helmet while skating, but never ever do it for an HEV suit.
They're not actually technically dead, though. I think it makes sense that the suit would glitch out trying to give a cohesive vital reading of whatever wild mutations headcrabs inflict; The HEV suit can't tell whether they're alive or dead, or what is going on.

They are using Mark 3 suits it seems. Gordon uses Mark 4 in Half life 1. Explains why his armor can't be broken by headcrabs.

Canonically he does wear a helmet that's why there's no gas damage in this game and it wouldn't make sense for him to be protected against radiation and other hazards without his helmet, he would be dead as fuck without a helmet.

@@kentreed2011 I don't know where you Gordon Helmeters get this idea that Gordon wears a helmet despite never being pictured with one ever. Please explain because no one has ever pointed me towards any Marc Laidlaw interviews where the helmet is mentioned, nothing in Half Life 2: Raising the Bar either. He doesn't have a helmet on his HL1 or HLA model or in any promotional art. I don't even wanna hear about the headcrabs or HUD because the end of HLA confirms that Gordon didn't have the helmet in that game (which has suit zoom, crabs,toxic goo, and a HUD).
I have a theory: since we play in first person and see everything Gordon sees, I assume he can see the HUD just like us, which means he IS wearing the helmet, but I'd imagine that for better communication between users and visibility, the helmet turns invisible when worn.
We've only really seen the helmet when finding the dead scientists in Xen in the original game. What's to say the suit's battery wasn't depleted by the time we found them, thus making the helmet's invisibility cloak deactivate? Idk, it sounds like that would explain breathing while in Xen and how Gordon doesn't immediately get turned into a headcrab zombie like the one scientist who talked with G-Man in that one Sector C room with the bulletproof glass windows.

The suit just doesnt know if the user is dead or alive, so it just glitches and goes crazy and stupid, wich is kinda scary

I loved the way they rendered Xen in Black Mesa. I'd almost compare it to Dead Space, the way the abandoned ambience fills you with dread. You want to keep exploring those human structures, even though you know nothing good is left in them.

The suit has weapon selection system, and in lore, probably aim assist.
Imagine of headcrab could try to use items that happened to be in victims hands.
Like firearms for example. And the aim assist could actually make that happen.
Just imagine a hev zombie aiming one of its arms at your general direction, and fire an mp5 in full auto untill the magazine runs out.

@@MrFireWolf tbh combine soldiers are transhumans that are completely min-maxxed to be a perfect fighting force. That's why even being zombies they could still speak and barely growl in pain like the other zombie types

@@MrFireWolf Zombies in the Half-Life universe tend to hibernate if they can't feed, which is why you encounter so many of them feigning death until you get close or touch them. Sure, they won't be able to feed when you wake them either, but I guess that's just Headcrab instinct. I assume it's the same with HEV Zombies and Zombines.

Aren't they called HEV Zombies? A Head Crab infecting a host becomes a Zombie namewise, same going for Poison and Fast varients.
I don't know any official source names though, I just called them Headcrab Zombies and Poison Headcrab Zombies.

Once he sees the chewed remnants of the helmet underneath, I'd imagine he'll stop complaining about it for a goodwhile

They have a beak (mentioned by Kleiner in Half-life 2 "Red letter day") that they use to break the victim's skull. Then, they hijack the person nervous system, taking full control of the whole body. They have to feed, of course. But because they occupie the whole skull, they have to make the victim (Friendly reminder that they're still alive and concious through the whole process) forcefully rip their rib cage, and stuff anything in it.

It kinda bothers me that the scientists had all this equipment well capable of dealing with hostile environments, yet they all end up dead. They should've hired fire fighters instead of scientists for the HEV team. 🙄 Or maybe astronauts...

And first of all they had this weapons and ammo in half life and half life Blue shift, so they didn't survive cuz there's like gargantuas, those things from blast pit, vorts and headcrabs

I don't know why, but I always wanted to know how it is to be with Headcrab on your head?
Considering the HL2 headcrab zombies constantly scream in agony and yell "GOD HELP, HELP ME" in reverse... I guess it's like having all your bones burst out of your body, your internal organs becoming a lot less internal and a lot more external, while your entire head is covered a thanksgiving turkey that is nailed onto your skull. It seems you'd be feeling all the pain and you'd be somewhat aware what's going on, and you might still be able to scream, but you can't articulate yourself because your brain, lungs and vocal cords are f'd up. You realize that the alien on your head is controlling your body. You can't see and you might barely be able to hear anything but your own muffled, distorted, agonizing voice that you might not even recognize as your own. You only have the pain, and you can tell by the movements of your body that its hunting and killing people, possibly your loved ones. Then you feel your hands rip fresh human bodies apart and stuffing raw meat down your throat (your jaw is ripped wide open). It looks like the headcrab also douses you in acid or poison. You can't do anything to stop this. You can only hope that the headcrab can't preserve your body from decomposing and falling apart, because otherwise, you might be going through this for a while.
And if it's one of the poison headcrabs, it looks like you'll also be pumped full of poison that makes you bloat. They don't show much of how headcrabs reproduce, but the way a whole bunch of them latch on to the zombie, I'm guessing they'd hatch from your flesh. And since you hear those zombies "laugh" when they die, you can tell they got it even worse than the usual headcrab zombies. They are happy you ended their suffering.
So in summary: Not good, wouldn't reccomend.
