    Long story short: Said it's up to you. I would say they're extremely similar. So save your $$ and get the SP8.

      Yeah I mean unless someone is really married to the idea of an arm chip. Also losing the headphone jack is a big bummer in my opinion I was still upset about losing SD card support in the 8th gen

      The Surface Pro 8 also has an audio jack which the 9 removed. I'm waiting for Microsoft to realize it was a bad idea for the next iteration or at least give us another thunderbolt 4 port as consolation.

    Not giving a recommendation is a total cop out. People are literally watching this for a professional opinion not a coin flip.

      Hahaha! Yeah I'm surprised and also annoyed when I'm looking for a professional opinion and at the end they essentially say, "It's up to you" ;'DD
      Only psychologists should do that ;'DD
      And doctors maybe, for fear of being sued.

    I got the surface pro 8 over the 9 because it was $400 cheaper for the i7 model. Plus, the 8 keeps the headphone jack.

      It's 2024 now, and I'm wondering if the Surface 8 Pro is still selling today, because I feel like it was the best option for me to own one and to work with on a Windows tablet.

    The lack of a 3.5mm jack is unforgivable for a working machine. Even so, the Surface Pro 9 is a better option due to a less hungry CPU, DDR5 memory, a longer battery life (even with a smaller battery), and repairability. Given the fact that Raptor Lake CPU (13the gen) has only little advantage over 12th gen Alder Lake, it's the right time to upgrade my old Surface Pro 6.

    • @jt.8144
      @jt.8144 Год назад

      Repairability meaning what? I still have my Surface from 2018. So far so good. Just did a Fresh Reinstall for Windows 10 PRO. Not bad ..but it is tempting to Upgrade to an 8 Pro or 9 Pro.

    The 9 does not have a 3.5mm jack so I needed an adapter and I wouild be "loosing" one usbc-port for my headset. Hard to understand that choice MS mad - so to me it´s clearely the pro 8 simply due to the 3.5mm jack.

    I bought the 8 a week ago, intending to return it for the 9 when it came out hoping for some improvements in battery life at the very least. Turns out it's likely gonna be WORSE in the intel versions and aside from that its basically identical outside of my 8 still having a headphone jack. Kind of a huge letdown.

      @@Dee-- It drops from 100% to 10% in 4 to 6 hours depends on your tasks. Please don't trust these reviewers, they are just reading out the specs provided by the company. There is no way it can last 15-19 hours. The battery life provided by MS is a joke because it includes when the device is in standby mode. WTH??

      @@Dee-- I can’t tell you if it will be better than Pro 8, but I am 100% sure it won’t last as long as what MS claims 15-19 hrs. I would guess it would be about the same as pro 8’s 4-6 hrs. Some people claim it lasts about 7-8 hrs, and that’s when they use power saving mode and have screen brightness turned way down, 120hz off…etc, then what’s the point of having nice hardwares?
