Kuya Fil-am here. Born and raised in San Francisco. Picture this. A regular pinoy household family have dinner. Not around a dining table. But in the living room holding a plate with one hand and eating with the other. Some are standing. Some are sitting. We’re watching tv. But not the news. Not the sports. No. We’re actually watching RUclips. And having a kick at your videos. Some of your interactions are wholesome. Some dad jokes. (Dad myself). Same very humbling. I just want to let you know that many Filipinos watch you. Weather it be over dinner. On their phones on the banyo. Or in bed. You’re an Honorary pinoy in my eyes. Thank you so much for showing me my motherland.
Kuya Kurt, you are a good natured man. I love you for being very humble, you can eat in a lowly carinderia, walang ka arte arte. You are doing doing a great job by promoting small businesses while you are in the Philippines. You are so dammed good. May God keep and guide you.
Wow thank you so much! But to me a carinderiya is the bedrock of Filipino cuisine. Nothing lowly about it just people doing their best to be a small business owner, which I respect a lot 🙌🙌🙌
@@tagalogkurt It's a lomi noodle dish. The noodles thickens the broth. A simple serving is somewhat similar to chicken mami. You can add other ingredients depending on your creativity. What you were served with looks like "Everything on it" or an "overload" serving. You can season your meal with a drop or two from the dip you've prepared before taking a spoonful. Or, you can just add the dip directly into the bowl adjusting the amount to your taste preference.......❤❤❤
Maraming Salamat Kuya Kurt for patronizing the Philippines. You’re the only person doing this. Maraming Salamat sayo. God bless your big heart. Pls come back again so next time you can show us again other karenderias in the Philippines. We all love you very much Kuya Kurt. Pagpalain ka ng ating mahal na Panginoon ♥️♥️♥️✝️🙏🙏🙏
Lomi is a noodle dish. It usually comes with meat (pork or chicken), egg, and pork liver. Sometimes, they use seafood instead of meat. Then it is topped with chicharon (pork cracklings). The one that you got even has squid balls and kikiam (a Filipino version of the chinese ngo hiang). A sawsawan is not always required. It’s really up to your taste. If it’s salty enough for you, you can just use the calamansi and put some chili-garlic oil if you like it spicy.
Bait bait mo talaga kuya kurt. 🥺 Walang arte, hindi mapang mata. Humble and compassionate. Napanood ko isang beses tumalsik yung pagkain mo sa upuan and kinuha mo padin kinain mo. Hehe Showed how humble you are. Im going to like every video on your channel and fb page to support you. Ikaw unang vlogger na bibigyan ko ng ganitong support. ❤❤❤
Hello Kurt. I am watching your vlog and thank for promoting Filipino culture and liking simple Filipino foods and delicacies. I am Budz Vulcan from Cabali-an, Southern Leyte
There a many Lomi restauraunts in that Batangas area, especially is Tagaytay and Lipa. Lomi is a very hearty thick noodle soup with all kinds of toppings. Putting calamansi, soy, and chilli is a must. I had Lomi last year during vacation, and im so eager to go back.
I love you're vlog Kurt ! I'm watching here in Ridgecrest, California. I always eat Lomi in Manila , Cubao. I left Philippines 🇵🇭 way back 1998 August. Dont worry I subscribe to you're channel. God Bless you & be safe.
*_This is one of those vlogs where you can feel yourself transported to the place, hot lomi in front, and the sights and smells of a local carinderia with cool rain outside. Thanks man, you brought back thousands of Pinoys to their hometowns._* 😎😎😎😎👍👍👍👍
I like to watch your blogs, I’m touch how you support the small business and restaurant, canteen and so forth.Your blog surely can help people to point to the right direction for people who is welling to to go to small canteen with good food and affordable prices. Also I like when you really check where the kitchen and how it looks. Small cafeteria or canteen with clean appearance and good food and reasonable prices is my kind of venture. I love it that way.I already have lots of experience about big restaurants and expensive places. But I prepare good food, small places and clean place to set and relax to eat quietly. I love it that way. Thank you for the information.Good luck in your blogs .Keep us informed.👍
Recommended places for Lomi at Lipa Batangas, 3 restaurant choices: Liam's Lomi house, LDC Lomi house, and Corcolon's Lomi House. I hope you try their specials and include them on your vlog(s)
That's a very good idea kuya kurt to make a catalogue of eateries and restaurants and arrange it by places, put their specialty menu. You may published a book or make an e-book. It will be a big help for people in the Philippines on where to go and choose to eat according to their budget.
Wow thank you so much sir for supporting small businesses in the Philippines new subscriber here i started liking your videos they are so entertaining 😊
Lomi is in pancit family, only it has soup and uses fatter, round noodles. The soup is thick with beaten egg, carrots, beef liver, squid balls, kikiam (made of fish cut, brown sausages), with toppings of chicharon, etc. You spooned a little dipping sauce for the part you will swallow, not pour many on the lomi.
Ang sarap!!! naman ng lomi, lalo't maulan is good for your souls. Stay healthy, Kurt, and also be safe. I like your tagalog and try to learn another dialect for better communication.
Kuya Kurt, will you please give me a brief history of how you came to speak Tagalog this well? Now long have you stayed in the Philippines.? I am very happy for you. Stay safe always.
