Canadian living in the Philippines for the last five years. Love your videos. You have an incredibly likable personality. I hope you can stay longer and keep at it.
I super appreciate you man! This guy is not just Pinoy baiting. He's legit enough to speak Tagalog. To learn a language is to embrace everything that goes with it - food, people, etc.
Unbelievable, you got the all package. Yung personality , Pinoy good manner, pati yung style ng Pinoy na PURU tanong. Pinoy na Pinoy. Hahahaha. Pati yung tawa. “ Amazing “
There's something about your videos that makes them pleasant and enjoyable to watch. It's like the audience is just hanging out with you. Walang bahid ng kayabangan. Keep it up, good sir! And were happy to have you here
Thanks Kurt 10:13 for sharing the beauty of Philippines i hope the tourism give you a credit for your contribution to the country, I give you around of applause 👏 👍
For all non-cavitenyos who are interested to eat in Park Ridge. Try avoiding exact lunch time (12nn to 1pm) as the place will always be full. Tagaytay traffic also becomes unbearable during the weekend around lunch time. Best time to go and eat would be 10 to 1030, food will be served around 11am then by the time you leave, the place will be full of people. Usually, restaurants clear up around 2 to 3pm onwards.
Love love love this video Tagalog Kurt!!! (Makes up for the uncomfortable Mukbang lol😅). Really touched me how the Bulalo reminded u of ur mom’s cooking. I kept replaying and busting up on the part where you got AFRAID. I can soooo relate because I don’t like bothering people. WALKING WITH PURPOSE! Omg I died!!! I was cracking up so much I woke up my household!! Your videos bring so much joy TK! And I will go to Tagaytay just for that Halo Halo! Omg salivating!!!
The first time I saw Taal Volcano in the summer of 1992, I immediately knew that I would someday own property there. It is absolutely beautiful! This resto is just down the road from our condo, SMDC Wind, at Tagaytay. We have a majestic view of Taal from our balcony, and wifey and I absolutely love it! Our other condo is at Makati, SMDC Jazz. I was just in the Philippines 7/8/2024 - 8/28/2024. I can’t wait to return next year! Wifey and I plan to build our semi-retirement house at Alfonso, Cavite because we love the Tagaytay views and climate! I’m a big fan, Tagalog Kurt! Keep on keeping on! ❤🙏😎🤩
Kuya Kurt .. Filipino subscriber here from the Bay Area.. You should collaborate with bisayanghilaw, he’s also a Caucasian YourubeR from Utah..He does the same thing as you do but he’s more focus on the southside of the Philippines which is Visayas and some parts of Mindanao. Keep up the good work kuya Kurt. Magaling ka.. and Salamat sa pagmamahal sa aming bayan at kultura. Hats off to you buddy .. And let’s make your channel big in promoting the Philippines. And also thank you for having a pusong ❤ pinoy.
Enjoying so much your videos. If in doubt, with regards to how you eat dishes, just ask the server and they'll be able to explain to you. Bulalo is usually eaten with rice. There's a bunch of calamansi served too for dipping sauce. That goes with the bulalo. Enjoy!
Kamusta KuyaKurt! Watching your video is like a part of me being there. Thank you so much for your videos. It brings back how much I miss the Philippines! 😊
Nice place ,love your Tagalog accent ,watch out what you eat ,eat more veggies, fish & fruits …take care of your ♥️.avoid too much liempo ,a lot of people there with high blood press & diabetes
Wow! Love the ambience with front view of the volcano! Try the hot cocoa drink, which is popular in Tagaytay. They make the drink out of little round cocoa tablets. Also try the buko pie while you’re in Tagaytay. Thanks for explaining the “unli” rice. I always hear that word but never knew what it meant. By the way, the Korean bingsoo is not as tasty as halohalo, in my experience. I agree that Koreans shave their ice very finely so the texture is very smooth like snow. Thanks for sharing and taking us along with you to such a beautiful place. 🥰
Maraming Salamat Kuya Kurt for loving the Philippines and our good foods too. You’re like a very true Filipino by heart and soul. Maraming Salamat talaga!!!♥️🙏✝️🥰😇💕
Liempo - general term for pork belly. Bacon to Filipinos refers to American bacon - that thinly sliced pork belly usually fried to a crisp. Which is why your waiter looked confused when you referred to liempo as bacon
Perfect sound on your video no need for microphone. Unli means unlimited. Good you’re staying longer in Philippines. There’s a new tourist attraction in Batangas city called the MIRACLE WALK ( glass walkway on the bridge).
I really love listening to you talking in tagalog 😂😂 just like Jonathan of Travel Escapes, he is also learning visayan dialect and it is endearing to listen other nationalities learning and appreciating my lenggwahe, bayan, kultura, tradisyon, pagkain at marami pang iba. 😁 ingat ka palagi Kurt.
Perfect sound on your video no need for microphone. Unli means unlimited. Good you’re staying longer in Philippines. There’s a new tourist attraction in Batangas city called the MIRACLE WALK ( glass walkway on the bridge). That’s why it’s a bit pricy because they made the ice with milk for halo-halo and big serving, too.
You are patronizing Filipino carenderias and in return as a form of gratitude, I have subscribed and liked your channel. Tagaytay is a hub for meat, Beef specially. And any food with me at on it will be fresh and delicious. Enjoy you meals and have fun.
Kurt I go there way back 1984 & 1991 from Greenhills to Tagaytay on Mt. bike because we race almost 70 + kilometers. Now I'm in California for 23 years I miss the place . Now I'm 66 no more exercise. Just take care & be safe .Don't worry I subscribe to your channel.
Hey, at 4:14, Bahay Kubo. It's a generalized term for "Nipa Hut". (Nipa is a kind of palm tree, and the fronds are harvested, dried, then "woven" together, used for the roof and walls of the hut). 🙂
That Halo-Halo looks Extra Delicious since the shaved ice was made with 3 special ingredients. For a 10/10 Rating for $6.00, it is so worth the charge. Here in San Diego, ChowKing charges $6.99 ($7.00) with hardly any fruits, kaong, jackfruit, sabah. It does have the Use ice cream, a tiny pc. of Leche Flan and mostly Mung Beans and Sago. I'm glad that you love Filipino Cuisine.
Love what you do. Ill be binging all your vid. Pls keep it coming and also if you can try other parts of the country especially the small islands and their local food. Thank you
13:35 ladle = sandok 14:20 Once ready then, yes. You scoop some of the sabaw along with meat and veggies over the rice. You also have a white bowl behind the pot of bulalo. Pour the bulalo there, sabaw meat and veggies and eat as a side dish with your rice and ulam while putting some soup over the rice from your personal bowl for every bite.
Ahahaha... May bowl naman pala e! 😆 I think you're bringing back your comedic parts from your much earlier videos. Peace man. ✌️ About the "unli soup" on the Bulalo, "unli" is pronounced the same as the 1st 2 syllables of the English word "unlimited". It is actually English, shortened by Filipinos. Actually an English phrase, this "unli soup" with the 1st word shortened, the Filipino way.
🧡🧡🧡The bulalo looks delicious. I also make ice using milk, cream, and a little condensed milk for my halo-halo, especially when an ice crusher is not available. The mixture prevents the water molecules from forming solid ice, so it doesn’t harden completely. I just use a fork to crush it.
Try the tawilis. Its the only fresh water sardine specie and maliputo which is the only fresh water trevaly. They are endemic only to taal lake and are available on seasonal fishing.
Great content. Very interesting. Try the halo halo in the Manila Peninsula Hotel. I think that would be an amazing experience for you too. Keep blogging.
Thanks for the great vids. Here in PH with my Filipino wife for the first time. Love it. Appreciate your focus on local life, not the resort areas. Will be touring the area where you’re at today. Keep up the good work!
0:30 While bacon is generally cured and I know some Americans call any fatty pork/belly as such, liempo refers to the cut. The pork belly or sidepork cut, uncured and fresh for marinading the meat. So if you’re in the PH and you refer to bacon, you’ll confuse locals bec they know bacon as the cured thin strips and packaged version.
Oh boy, I remembered that my family and I we went to that place few months ago, and we stayed in the same hut. Ridge park has a good and delicious foods, maybe I’ll be back there again in December when I go home to the Philippines 🇵🇭 ❤❤❤
I am glad you had a great time at Tagaytay City. The food was great. I wonder if you have a family back home in the US. Try to bring them with you for a change. God bless kuya Kurt.
Kuya Kurt, there is a really great carinderia in Malabon city and it’s known on RUclips as well. It’s in Malabon city and it’s called Mely’s carinderia 👍🏼 👍🏼
You eat bulalo with rice too and you can out the soup into the rice so that you could chew and swallow it easier. Your choices of food is good and it looks so yummy. 😋
Cut down on fried food, lalo na pork, dahil may high blood pressure ka. Eat more fish, fruits & vegetable…gulay. Drink and eat buko…coconut juice with coconut meat. Healthier for you, keep you hydrated. Stay safe, and be well!🙏
its 5:57 pm in my place South Dakota I'm watching you right now you were in Tagaytay and its raining there hopefully the rain stop so you can enjoy the beautiful view of Tagaytay. your funny Tagalog Kurt you make me laugh and your tagalog accent is really amazing God Bless Your Heart for loving and appreciate my country Pilipinas. thank you for inspiring me everytime I'm watching you. always tc and enjoy your trip more until maka uwi kasa Utah. Paalam for now.
The way you pronounce "unli" is so cute. But we really pronounce it as "anli" not "oonli". Your videos can be a tourist's guide to the Philippines. Amazing!
Kuya Kuyrt, ladle is 'sandok' in Tagalog. Yes, achara is pickled green/unripe papaya, carrots, onions. You can eat bulalo as a soup. You can also add some rice to the broth and eat it that way.
Been watching your blog here in Kentucky and I’m really jealous cause I was born in the Philippines but I never seen those nice places your showing on your blog, I live here in U S now for 41 years more than years I live there, thank you I really enjoy watching you and how you communicate tagalog with those people.

Favorite spot because of the unobstructed view of Taal.
