The only thing you miss with this version is David Gilmour playing the pedal steel guitar for that brilliant guitar solo at the end of the song! Check out the 1994 live pulse version so you can see him playing the pedal steel guitar or just watch it for yourself I think you'll enjoy it!! Nice reaction keep it up!!

Questa è una delle piu belle canzoni autobiografiche della band che vuole ricordare con uno sguardo pieno di nostalgia i tempi del loro esordio in Inghilterra tra Cambridge e Londra , i loro sogni e i primi successi e la triste vicenda del loro coofondatore Syd Barrett ed il successivo traumatico abbandono nel pieno del loro successo da parte di Roger Waters il bassista e scrittore dei testi più importanti dei loro brani.
La canzone è stata scritta da David Gilmour con la moglie Polly sposata poco prima dell'uscita dell'album THE DIVISION BELL della quale fa parte HIGH HOPES e con quel suono fantastico della lap steel guitar magistralmente suonata da Dave lancia in aria una nuova vita e nuove alte speranze.
