These guides have taught me that I've been playing some of these characters totally wrong - Red XIII being one of them.
Yeah, happened the same to me in Remake. I guess it means they are very well designed, since you learn them, manage to beat the game, then income the challenges and you have to relearn new creative solutions to your new problems. I really liked that about the game :)
Honestly I always had red in my party, but after using these guides it's made me realise he's pretty crap compared to tifa.
I didnt even start parrying until the legendarey bouts because I failed them so many times and learned the patterns\
At one point while playing as the charaters, you will realizes that these characters require certain different levels of playing.
Totally...I can't wait to get a plat and start from scratch without having to worry about anymore trophies.
If anyone is struggling with Levridon like I was, I realized that hitting it with blizzaga when it does the amp up move results in an insta-stagger.
It was a game changer for me…I must’ve fought that damn thing 50 times.
ALSO! Stay the hell away from him! Wait until he does that dive kick move or the other similar one to hit him! Keep dodging away from him, especially if he's AMPED UP! if that Lightning move hits you catches you, YOU'RE DEAD! He staggers faster than the other enemies here so just dodge him and attack when there's those dive kick openings and maybe try to hit him from behind when he starts kicking rocks at you.
Another fantastic strategy. So simple got it first time with your guide.
Other guides, "just parry it". If i was good enough to parry every attack i wouldn't be looking for a guide 😂

Tbf, perfect blocking is pretty vital for Hard Mode and Cait Sith's Combat Sim. I literally couldn't beat the Mindflayer without perfect blocking his small purple orbs (granted, they're slow-moving). But yeah, when some people's advice is "parry everything" it is a bit of a massive deal breaker, especially when you have to die many times to get the timing down, only to fail in the end.
My timing is always off, I just dodge and attack them when there's an opening!

True. Especially with the Cloud and Tifa challenges. Now i love using Cloud’s counter moves. I also never cared for unfettered strength until i had to follow his guide.

This was dirt easy thanks to your strategy.
All I got left for the solos are Yuffie and Cait Sith.
The solos seem to be easier than the team ones; much easier to have to only worry about one character and what next steps to take.
Rather than have to juggle 3 characters, remember when to switch, and remember what to do with them next.

Love the strats. Got me through to this point. Finally beat Rulers of Outer world this morning. Blew Sephiroth to hell with Firaga, bastard was pain, took me 20 or so attempts.

Fantastic guide Opti! Took me a few attempts to learn how to time the Counterspin move properly but I got it down within a couple of tries. Took me 5 minutes to do this one. Fastest one I've had was Aerith with 3:51 and then Tifa with 4:44.
Looking forward to seeing Yuffie and Cait Sith's tomorrow! Not looking forward to the Cait Sith one because I don't like the way he plays at all, so he's always benched for me unless absolutely needed like in the main story or when he's used for your initial guides.
Almost every other guide makes you feel like you failed if you haven't mastered perfect block by this point in the game and along comes optinoob to show you how to use just normal blocking to your advantage.
I havent found a game where you must learn to perfect block to platinum. Despite so many saying, you must learn to perfect block in Kena, Lies of P, Thymesia, FF7 etc...... Ive made quick/easy platinum guides for all and never really using perfect block ;)
Dear lordy, that Levridon I thought would be the death of me . I am not good with the perfect block and counterspin but after listening careful to your words aboput the Mastidons attacks, he became my training subject before the Levridon. I really wanna thank you becasue REd was a pain to be honest, but patience and your guide here, I really wanna thank you.

On the toad, I found Siphon Fury very helpful. The airborne attacking avoided some of its attacks.
The 2nd fight was kicking my ass even with this strategy. Switching to Blizzaga even for one attack really helps. Thank you!
Found the most elite build for this. IMO. I created this:
silver collar
Certain bracer
Enhanced Karmic Cowl
Weapon: Ice+magic focus, ice+swift, spirit x 2
Armour: HP ab +ice, MP ab +fire and ice, vitality up x2, luck up, ATB BOOST
You can have fun and fight away, if you’re good at blocking you should have some fun with this build. It really allowed for lots of cushion for damage against you. So if you are a pro at the precision block, you should have an easy fun one with this build. Also
Needs First Strike I think.

That counter spin thing was not something I was aware of. I mostly followed this but I brought some time materia because it's useful fot stopping that annoying bird thing in round 4.
Another great success! I had more trouble with the Bird than the Frog, but once bird brain went down I knew I had it because round 5 is a cakewalk. Thanks brotha!

I've never been fond of Red's gameplay but again, dodging around and keeping buffs up is very helpful, i was able to do this one without the genji gloves as well, I replaced steadyfast block w chakra cuz i'm too bad at blocking anyway and i replaced phenix w shiva which was very helpful on the last round. Thanks very much for the help!
Not that you really need it, because it is so easy already. But you can use plasma discharge and the ice shield from enemy skill to get some auto damage buffs. Even mind blast (to increase stagger) .
Red/Nanaki and Cait are the player characters I use the LEAST in Rebirth, and with your strategy, you just made me adapt to the former a little more...

I took inspiration from your setup but went and changed the Speed plus materia and Magic up materia for Strength Plus and AtkMg which made a higher magic stat. then just kept hammering things with the blizzaga. Cheers once again for a decent build.

This one also done after just one try! Of course, I reviewed and followed your strategies. That blocking and then counter spin were really useful for rounds 2, 3, & 4! So, this is the easiest Legendary Bout for me so far then. Thank you again! On to Yuffie vs the Wronged video.
Thank you yet again for an amazing Guide! I had some problem with the frog in the 3e battle because my hp absorb was on lvl 1. So i exchanged enemy skill for a Chakra materia and that made it so much easier for me.
Thank you for this guide. I have made it this far with your help. Not sure what I did but messed up a little bit at the end but with the Phoenix summon I was able to beat it.
Took 3 goes but again just unluck with RNG. Th only one I cant do now is cloud. I'm going to go back to cloud now and see if I can get this done! These are ridiculous. Wouldn't be getting through them without you bro!

Finally beat all the simulator today !!!!!!!!!
The devs are mental , the last one with Zack was the hardest! 10 very hard boss fights in a row and last one is Odin! Got killed by Odin 4-5 times! Took me whole day to beat it!
For me it works with aero- cloud / Zack support !
But thanks to you! Without you i didn’t even passed the rulers of the world! This was the second hardest if you don’t have the synergy and a bit of luck against Sephiroth 😂

For Odin, did you try to bring a Reraise + Magic Efficiency Materia? You can cast Reraise for only 17 MP, which certainly can make Odin easier simply because he won't be able to one shot you, and you can use Zack for healing.

@@Black_Sephiroth That’s the last one I need to do, and this morning I finished the Sephiroth VR mission, but I’m just not good at controlling him, partly because I have 100+ hours of playing as Cloud compared to like… 30-ish minutes of playing as Sephiroth.
I tried a couple builds for the Zack one, but three times in a row I died to Titan, when on my VERY FIRST ATTEMPT I got to Round 6.
So that’s demoralising xD
@@MalachiLperuse : boost all the aero , tp, mp absorption, magic focus aero, enemy skill materia , atb boost, magic up + rune blade - pure magic
Armor: fire + ice linked to absorb materia ( don’t know the name in English ) and Swift cast linked to aero + thunder! Schutzengel ( don’t know in English , it’s the materia you mentioned before! Use it as well)
Just for Alexander you destroy the arms with thunder lvl 3 for the arms ! After the arms are dead cast aeroga on Alexander and repeat !

Zack 2
Battle start: swap directly to Zack cast haste on cloud , some
Hits on titan to fill 1 more bar to cast faith on cloud!
Just go in with cloud until you have 2 bars and cast aeroga on the shield! Zack is just for healing if needed!
!!! GENJI GLOVES is a must have on cloud!
@@MalachiLperif you destroy titan with over 50k aeroga while he’s staggered, you have the build right
Protip: Use Blizzaga as soon as the Levridon uses Amp Up, this immediately staggers it and stops it from using Electrify
I'm on a roll with these guides
activating vengeance mode makes you build ATB way more quickly than with Red's normal basic attacks which helps a lot with building it up during staggers.
I can’t wait for your guide on Cait Sith, he is by far the hardest character for me to use. I’ve made it all the way to the 5th round in his trial, but I died in two seconds to the Mindflayer’s dang laser beam. I’m looking forward to watching your guide and how you’ll wipe the floor with it!

Haven't tried yet but the lack of Chilling Claw is astounding. Much like Yuffie for the price of just using a bar you get a free counter that most enemies are weak to in this bout and you gain Vengence off of it I'd vouch for Red's other abilities but eh much like Barret many of the later abilities aren't worth it.
Your video is amazing. Easy to follow and helped me get through this challenge in no time.
Another great video, this was by far the easiest strategy, beat it first try, I beat Barret, Tifa, Aerith and now Red, which is by far the easiest of the Legendary so far.

Cant believe i beat this first try. Ran around the arena for 5 minutes in total because the Emu/Bird enemy used amp up but nevertheless
if anyone wonders and wants to do it before you get the genji gloves like me it works perfectly fine without them i just used Götterdämmerung instead just takes a bit longer but not a problem at all
Not hard or annoying to get the gloves just get 6 pirates pieces shit from any guide and kill hard hunts they tbh easy without any guide quick kill
Got tifa and red XIII first try thanks to these guides.
Reds fights were all pretty easy, once you know the moves of the enemies, you can use Ribbon 🎀 and Stop on all enemies except for Malboro too. There’s almost no way to lose if you just run around and use Chakra anytime you are a bit low.
Seeing as how there isn’t any healing in this setup except for the Ice - HP Absorption, I chose to drop the Speed Up and replace it with an HP Absorption, which I connected to the Enemy Skill materia. After I did that, I had no issues whatsoever. The extra healing from Plasma Discharge is really helpful in this setup, as opposed to the Solo Tifa setup where she’s barely using her ATB charges and just letting it sit there. I really like that Enemy Skill (Plasma Discharge) - HP Absorption combo.
I really beat the shit outta that Great Malboro at the end there lol. There was constantly electricity and Ice exploding everywhere lol. Poor Great Malboro never knew what hit him. Mostly cuz I was behind him the whole time wrecking his shit lmao.

Plasma Discharge triggers with Yuffies brumal form spam btw!!! Seems to have a hidden 2 second cooldown though
@@Optinooby You mean normal-use Brumal Form, or Infinite ATB Brumal Form? If it’s the latter, wow. Didn’t think it would because the ATB looks like it’s constantly full despite the Brumal Form ATB usage. Cool to know, thanks!
@@What.99 Doesnt matter, brumal form is still that no matter if its infinite or not, but yea, I was surprised as well. But because of the 2 second cooldown, it triggers about every 3 or 4 brumal form spams.
Been experimenting with her during the solo legendary.
Her windstorm when the shuriken is inside an enemy also generates ATB, but its per each enemy hit. With the 4 wolves at the start, you can pull them all in at once and get infinite ATB with windstorm!!!
Unfortunately that Plasma Discharge spam isnt really that effective for her solo, i wanted to use it to show it off, but just took so long and you die eventually.
Though that would be REALLY good when you have Aerith with you and you're doing the spam as Yuffie will then be damaging the enemies as well and healing potentially!!
@@Optinooby Even with the 2 second cooldown, that constant HP gain would still be useful in battles where Yuffie can take a lot of damage, like against the VR challenge with Sephiroth, which I forget the name.
Also, Red gets a natural healing ability, if you go into Vengeance mode (And if you have a Folio upgrade, will heal you for simply going into it) and then Watcher's Respite can heal you for around 3000 HP if you have a half gauge.
Easy! First try with this method! No issues at all and I normally don't have Red in my party. Thank you!
Using your strategy, the only one that gave me problems was the toad. In all it took less than half an hour to clean up on this one.

Excellent guide! As a nanaki enjoyer, you should be using vengeance mode though. It cuts the fight time massively and makes me so fast you can avoid most of the attacks once it's active and burn them down
I had no idea what "counterspin" even was until i saw this. Think they could've explained that in the tutorials?
My tips to all HUMAN BEINGS not GODS trying to do this horrid thing is, do not be ashamed to stay the hell away from enemies and only attack them after they do a move that leaves them open for a few seconds. Have Barrier at all times if you can! Have Chakra to heal as much as you can. Play defensively as hell in this one because Red is squishier than a bug!
Thank you! The only thing I switched was ice hp absorb to i healing swiftcast bc I wasn’t very good at timing the blocks and counter spin and took too much damage.
Seriously. I may have to subscribe to you after u get me through these because you are a genius and you make these fights dumb easy. Alot of guides revolve around perfect parry counters and you don't really use any of that. Died once to bird because I didn't realize how fast electric discharge activates but 2nd go around beat it no problem. Cannot wait for your other guides.

Great guides so far, looking forward to seeing your guides for bond of friendship and To be hero guides, I tried to look for strategy without parry everything, but still no hope, I am quite bad at parry and also the bahamut wing makes me crazy when it cannot be locked properly to hit and cannot pressure it on time.
I actually got way ahead of you last night. Red XIII’s wasn’t bad at all using builds like the ones you did previously. Yuffie’s was almost just easy. Cait Sith’s was a bit time consuming but otherwise fine.
Now I’m on Bonds of Friendship with Cloud and Zack and it’s pretty tough. Hoping you get there soon! I’m wanting to finish all of these before my hard run!
I’m wondering if the VR Challenges stay unlocked when you start a Hard Mode run, or if they’re tied to campaign progress like the first playthrough and only unlock as you progress through the Hard Mode campaign. That’s the only reason I haven’t started my Hard Mode run yet, cuz I don’t want to be locked out of these VR missions until I beat the chapter and load up a Normal Mode chapter.
@@What.99 Don’t worry about that, my man. I’ve switched to Hard Mode to go get the special materials for Genji equipment then switched back to do a mission then again to get back to a chapter with Cait Sith in my party. Once you’ve completed these VR missions they’re done for good 👍
@@chazzreinhold5008 Oh, I did that too for the Genji Gloves lol. I meant if the later VR missions are locked in the earlier chapters like in the first playthrough. But I may have answered my own question since I’m currently on Chapter 12 Hard Mode doing these VR challenges lol.
@@What.99 ahh yeah you should be good. Have you beat Bonds of Friendship yet?? I’m on battle 7 against Alexander at the moment. It’s been a long and rough either though. Hopefully Opti comes up with something soon but I’ll take any tips you might have. I want to finish these then play the damn game again lol

Wow i was dreading doing reds solo challenge bc i didnt like this playstyle...after 250hrs i finally realized i was playing him wrong omg hes so good and so tanky, boi never takes dmg with all the block counters and skill counters

I am having the hardest time getting Red XIII to block. I can maybe successfully block 10% of the time. I am dead after a few attacks from The Bane of my existence The Gigantoad or the next POS in this 5 round annoyance. Red XIII is not a character I used much whilst playing this game so this Simulation is a nightmare for me.

So far this one was the easiest round 3 can get hairy but I think it’s rng because on try 2 I dog walked the toad, also on the last fight if you don’t blizz on stagger like I did you can recover just attack like tifa when staggered reapply resist and barrier and block and hit and run until 2 atb the blizz and call it a day.
I just wanted to add that because I wasn’t paying attention and blizzard to late but still pulled it out just wasn’t as clean and took longer

Today I will try your yuffie guide and hopefully it will be easy, even though from the video it sounded a bit harder than all of them
The Yuffie strategy is more precise, but there is quite a bit of margin for error as she is quite good, has a weakness spell and a weakness basic attack

That bird was too annoying with that amp up. I ditched barrier and went with time to stop him. Dodging and countering good enough to get them all done. I also moved fire and ice to MP absorb so that I'd could use fire more frequently in the second fight.
Another one done and way eaiser, would of maybe had it if that elephant didnt kill me the first time. Did it my second and wow fast. Now that is only left is tifa, yuffie, cait saith, and the two bounds of hero and friendship.
