    I ordered some bags of Brazil nuts and now eat two nuts a day. I feel much more focused, my memory has improved significantly and i don't feel fired anymore.
    It feels like my pre-nut life was just a dream, because of the brain fog.

    I have been living a strict Keto life style since July 2018, and will continue as I feel healthier than ever. I also live with Hemochromatosis. So I had to make some slight adjustments regarding consuming red meat, organ meat, spinach, beet greens, shell fish, broccoli (all foods that I love). I take the following anti oxidant supplements: Selenium, Vitamin E, Turmeric, Magnesium, Calcium and Milk Thistle. I drink one glass of lemon water and one cup of buttered coffee in the am, otherwise green tea and plenty of plain water. I exercise on my water rower 3/day for 15 minutes each. I am 63 but feel 36, am 5'10" and weigh 135 lbs. I follow Dr. Eric Lewis regarding my blood condition, and I follow you, Dr. Berg, regarding all matters keto genic. Thank you, "Hemo Lewis" and thank you, "Keto Berg" for changing my life for the better. My labs (iron, cholesterol and blood sugar) are normal. Greetings from Alberta, Canada. Love, cat

    • @lupavo1738
      @lupavo1738 5 лет назад

      Yea thats not true, eat as much fish as you want in one sitting and see how sick you get right after lol. Certain fish are more higher and/or more lower on the spectrum of mercury content and thats only one heavy metal we're talking about. Fish contain other heavy metals and toxins that you aren't even aware of. This is also in addition to how polluted our oceans are, remember the two radiation spills that happened in Japan? It made most fish inedible. One other thing now, is that plastics in the sea are being transferred from the fish flesh to humans and are being found as micro plastics in abundance in many people's livers.

    Dr. Berg, please consider: *toxicity may be greatly exaggerated! Dr. Wallach recommends a gram,* and sometimes a gram isn't enough, especially for the elderly. Taking enough can stop tremors, but 400mcg won't do it. Many take a lot more than a gram by eating *nutritional yeast* and don't overdose. The fear of overdose may have happened because of photography darkroom chemicals being so high in selenium, and caused toxicity. But I wonder what amounts these people were exposed to. Probably a lot!

      I've been taking nutritional yeast about two teaspoons a day and I was still feeling very fatigued I used to take selenium a few years ago and stop because I ran out and forgot about it. I just thought about this a few days ago and started it back up yesterday and I feel much better.

    Wouldn't the phytates in Brazil nuts bind selenium? Would exogenous phytase (digestive enzymes) disarm the phytic acid and free it up?
    Would phytase free up any heavy metals bound to phytates in foods, too?
    Also, if taking iodine therapy (Lugol's), how much extra selenium can be taken? Can the upper limits be exceeded in this case?
    Thanks. This is timely, as I've begun Lugol's and have been wondering about how much and where to get the extra selenium needed.

    Dr Eric thank you so much for your health advices. However, as far as i know, if not mistaken, that Selenium is an element which is available in soil and brazil nuts along with other nuts if being grown in soil free of selenium they would be of no benefit. Especially, nowadays the farmers deplete the soil of this essential element " Selenium " and used only other fertilizers through which the nuts grow well, but free of Selenium! As for Tuna, do you recommend bottled Tuna or fresh? And what kind of Tuna exactly?
    Thanks a million in advance.
