My biggest challenge after a romantic rejection is trying to process the strong and affectionate feelings that I've developed for someone. I'm still not sure what helps.
This is exactly what I’m feeling right now. I have a crush and I’m pretty sure they know I like them. I’m certain that they’ll reject me because they are already dating someone and they show no interest in me. Struggling with those feelings are really difficult for me, and I assume you also. I just want you to know there are always other opportunities and other people
I still have plenty affection for my partner who disappeared after an argument. I've realised I don't have to fight my feelings and feel much better that way. I accept that he doesn't want to be with me. That's ok. I want to be with me so yes this is goodbye. I also accept my love for him, love is not painful when it comes with no expectations from the person.
Ive had men who i liked reject me, later they came around again trying to get me to give them another chance. It generally doesn’t work out like that for me, i just send them back from where they came from. I don’t like being thought of as a second choice only for a guy to give someone the shot, attention, and thoughtfulness to someone else. They didn’t give me the same consideration when we were dating.
I always keep in mind that rejection is just a redirection and that has really helped not take rejection to heart. I used to cry whenever I was rejected, whether professionally or personally and with that mindset, it happens less often!!
I've learned to get through that with EMDR therapy. Great thing is that I'm at the point where I'm desensitized by people who reject me. Yeah, it sucks, but I look at it and say "Well, looks like something's going on with them right now" Granted, it's a hit below the belt, but it's what you do about it that makes a difference! 😁👍
The women in United States are useless and ultra mega superficial about looks. A guy rejected me in a romantic way. I decided to keep him as a friend. Now, he is the best friend I have ever had. He is the exact opposite of a toxic person. So, this opinion is biased by your own experiences, maybe, what do I know...
I've got too many rejections in my life. Last year I've got a heartbreak. And the one who I called my friend, break my trust. My family also rejected me until I've got a little bit of success. But watching this video just made me relax a bit from my problems. Thanks,Psych2Go🙂
Damn, that must be really hard to go through. Even if we don't know who you are, or able to feel exactly as you feel, remember that there's always people out there that's proud that you're still here, including me! Don't be sad too much, there's still much positivity left to be explored. All you need to do is change your perspective on everday things and everything should be going to be even better! Keep going, buddy!
Rejection (as much as it sucks), is all natural. We take it so personally cause we feel the want and need to be accepted! After facing so much of it especially last year, I'm at the point of judt being desensitized by it that it really doesn't bother me anymore. I hot the few who are still here, and those who want in are more than welcome to prove it, just as I will. Rejection is nothing personal, so it's time to take back your power and don't take it so personally!
Sadly everyone has to go through this at some point. I just recently did and I was so embarrassed and my heart wouldn’t stop pounding. The next day I had an idea that I should send my crush a long message explaining things. I thought that if he read that, it would make me feel better and less embarrassed when I would have to see him again. I planned the whole message and thankfully I had the guts to send it. He replied later very respectfully and mentioned that I didn’t need to feel embarrassed at all. Even though he friend zoned me very hard, I felt relieved that I could finally relax and not stress. I have so much anxiety and didn’t know exactly how to handle it but reaching out to him really helped me. So the moral of this story is that THERE IS A WAY. YOU CAN AND WILL GET THROUGH THIS. As I am writing this, I still haven’t seen him since he found out that I liked him. I am dreading when I have to. However, I’m going to keep my head up and have fun with my friends. I’m not going to worry about what him and his friends are doing. I feel like if I didn’t text him my hugeeee message, then when I see him again, I would’ve had a panic attack and been so embarrassed. But I’m ok now and I know I’m going to get through this. So if you’re in this situation right now too I’m here for you. It really hurts but you will get through it. Don’t cry over them, they aren’t worth your time. However, if you want to do something about it, you can always do something like me. I texted them and cleared everything up and it made me feel better. You shouldn’t have to keep feeling the way you do. I woke up and was done with how I felt and I wanted to make a change and I did. I admire my courage. That was the bravest thing I think I have ever done. You can do that too. It’s so easy. Don’t let other people bring you down. Rise against it. Rejection and friend zoning sucks but that’s ok. That just means that that person isn’t the one for you. Give it time. One day you’ll meet someone who will love you endlessly and would never want to do anything to hurt you. For now, I’ll be here waiting with you and know that there are other people around you that understand how you’re feeling right now. So talk to them. Even though they can’t do anything to help the situation, they can be there for you. Sometimes that’s all you need. Comfort. And trust me, it will pass. Mine hasn’t even been a week long and I feel great. I had a unbelievably huge crush on my crush and I thought I’d never get over him. I’m not sure if I have since I haven’t seen him so Idk if I’ll stop getting those feelings when I’m around him, but I do know that I feel free and so happy. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise. Now I can move on. Sry that was a lot but you’re strong and I believe in you. IT IS POSSIBLE. YOU WILL GET THROUGH THIS.
I read it all. im so happy it went well for you and that u are strong. sadly i was rejected early in my life and im 27 now and never been in a relationship and pretty much have given up hope in that regard. oh well thats life. Anyways have a great day!
@ PieceO'Cake aww I’m so sorry. But don’t worry I’m sure the right person will come when you least expect it. Sometimes it just takes a long time. But it seems like you’re happy and living life to the fullest and I admire that. I wish the same for me as I get older.
A lot of people say the worst thing your crush can say is no, but the worst thing they could probably say is "your ugly" or "ew" or "no your werid" so.... be glad that they rejected you nicely (if they rejected you nicely)

My parents thought me this when I got rejected from a girl . “Accept and Respect the reject don’t get Upset and there is always more to people to be Met.”
I just got my rejection letter for a scholarship. It was the third time (all different scholarships). I hope everyone who is experiencing the same kind of pain that I am right now, feels better. And always keep this on your mind "Do not make their words, your reality". In essence, it is just a rejection, it is not you. Keep fighting and keep on going, I can't promise that something would happen eventually but it is hope that makes us human. Keep moving forward. 😌
Do what you like, that really works. Cars saved me from depression, some of my friends asking me why do I spend so much time and money on my car. I just tell them my car will never friendzoned and reject me, she accepted me for who I am and taught me a lot of mechanically things which I like to learn.

I applied for a job recently and didn't get it. I noticed that it was causing me anxiety and panic attacks (waiting for the answer and the fear of rejection) so I prepared myself for getting the bad news and immediately started to reflect about what I can improve for the next time I also thought about the good things I won't miss for being unemployed. I started taking care of my body as well, so I feel like I handle rejection in a good way and I'm proud of it. At the end, it's not big deal being rejected and you learn from the experiences, maybe next time you'll get something better than the opportunity you didn't get.
Most people in the comment section are talking about romantic rejections, but honestly I think professional or career related rejections hurt the most. Today I received a rejection email from a program that I was really hoping to be a part of, I even imagined myself traveling for that opportunity. The rejection email really broke my heart and life seems a little hopeless right now.
i truly agree with you. Job rejection is so painful and soul crashing. At first i thought i was fine with it but after so many rejections it can be so demoralising. I hope things have gone better for you.
@@ws7009 I completely agree with you. Reading this comment made me revisit all those emotions. I got rejected for the same program again but this time I am mentally and financially at a way better place. Although, rejections hurt but I am still going to apply for the programs that I am passionate about.
I am starting a business selling stuff to other businesses and get about 10 rejections a week. Lot's of those rejections I am going to go and try again.
Everyone makes mistakes even the hardest one in relationships or friendships. Its up to you as the person to change in a good way but to know what's wrong
I was rejected in the past but my feelings didn't fade. In fact, I was obsessed. After some time, my feelings were gone and so I thought. The next thing I knew, those feelings came back but I really didn't do anything about the situation. Everytime that I think about it, I can't help but to feel hate and disgust to myself.
I hope you will feel better soon. Genuine feelings will always remain in our hearts - as long as we don't do bad things to justify what we feel, it's only human to keep feeling and remembering. I still obsess about my crush almost 20 years back 😅. Being rejected again recently is making me worried I will keep obsessing for the next 20 years 😅😅😅

I'm on therapy dealing with all this because I kinda create traumas with this kind of rejections and losses... Sometimes you need a hand from a mental health professional.
Nice to watch this and realize that I have already been doing this against the recent big rejection. Immediately after rejection, I accepted it and then started looking what I can do to meet my needs instead of trying to change the rejector’s opinion. Of course, I wanted to know why the rejector rejected me in the first place, so I approached her for that, but she could not tell. So I had to reflect on my own and find out actually rejection can be just part of life no matter how excellent you are as a person. I think this rejection helped me realize what I am good at and make me appreciate/value people who can see my value much more!
The best way to handle rejection, and anything else actually, is to work on your self-concept. It all comes down to personal beliefs about yourself or about different situations in life.
tip for anyone worrying: its really awkward at first if you keep seeing them but thousands of people go through it and tbh you get over it after a few days and life just goes back to normal
My best friend rejected me. What happened was I asked him out and he said, "I think we are just friends" that stung me. What he did after was he dated different girl in front of me to make me feel worse. When all this happened it felt like a million bullets shot my heart into a million pieces and my heart would never heal. I also thought, "Why is life so unfair. Love sucks. I built up courage for 4 years and I get rejected. " I felt so alone with no one to talk to.

From my past failed relationship, it been taught me that never put high hope and expectation on your partner. We can't controll what other people feel and want. Moving on made my life so much better. I'm so happy working with my hobbies and my family after that. Its very hurt on the beginning, but trust me it much better after that.
I had to reject a friend, and she's still struggling with her feelings for me... I care so much about her that sometimes I wish I was in love with her just to make her happy. But I don't know how to help her because I also just don't know what being rejected and loving someone feels like yet.
@@linde4649 that's honestly crazy omg. ive heard stories of the other party over time liking the person back. im so happy for you too and hope it works out!
Try removing the rose colored frame & see the people who rejected you for who they really are. You may not only be turned off but even completely disgusted. Works every time 🙃
For me, I've experienced feelings of rejection growing up and in my early adulthood. It is not fun and can destroy a person's soul but learning and growing from them can serve to make you stronger and more resilient. I no longer expect much from people and thus, I have little sense of disappointment and feeling rejected. I have become an indifferent person - that means to a large extent, I care very little about anything and anyone. I love myself and I love my cat (and my kids lol) and that's about all that matters to me. Disappointments and rejections and setbacks happen for a reason - it wasn't meant to be and maybe something better is waiting (I am not a negative person at all - just very logical and reasonable!) LOL.
I don’t have kids… and therefore don’t love anyone outside of myself….. but when you don’t feel much of anything…there isn’t much to love. So I’m likely going to go through life without ever feeling alive.
but that’s life! rejection feels sucks for sure but that’s how you live and grow if u got rejected that’s just means that that job or project or person is simply not for you or not good for you to begin with so live and do things don’t just sit after one rejection and shut yourself from the world and amazing opportunities waiting or you :( and sorry if my english is bad
Lmao true, im considering of shutting up since I just can’t seem to accept rejection of some sort, but then again, it’s not a healthy way of dealing with it either.
Thanks Psych2Go for this video. I think I supported or suggested the idea of how to deal with rejection one day, it doesn't matter how it was, what matters is that you guys listen to your community and I personally feel heard when I suggest topics and I feel incredibly good when you cover them. It really helps me with what I'm struggling with.
The most memorable rejection I experienced was rather recent. I got rejected by a close friend who now doesn't want to speak to me again over some disagreement we had. I have been rejected before, but it's never cut that deep until this happened. I'd rather not explain what the disagreement was all about because I fear I might be judged for it. But what I can say is, I knew it was going to happen one day and I knew that this type of rejection tends to happen in my lifestyle, so it let me have a taste of it - let me see what it's like. I knew it was going to be painful, but I didn't expect it to be THAT painful... I'm mostly over it by now, but ngl, a teensy bit of anger is still around. Though that'll pass with time. I'll get over it - I always do.
Wow, thank you so much. Sometimes I feel like I get called out in some of your videos and they hurt because they are a little to true but this video was very helpful. Thank you for expanding my options!
I always take a break from my social accounts. They kinda suck your energy out sometimes. A good early Morning walk cheers me up. Though waking up before the crowd gathers is tough 🤔
Cry, take a distance from the situation and work out help me a lot ! being sad took me a few days but i prefer allow myself feeling the whole thing rather repress it
Take your time to feel good again. We work a lot in ourselves to be how ans who we are (in a good way) that when someone just rejects us, we feel a full body slap in our brain and is hard to understand how you can reject someone's hard work. Is the way it happened to me the las 3 rejections. Take a break to release the emotions and seek help if it feels too heavy to carry on. Wish you the best
I can't not feel guilty about it. It's both drama and sadness, like I'm working to be rejected. I can't do something if not for someone or with someone. When doing for myself I only get anxious, think who left and who still is here and what I've done so I won't do this again to the next person. This gets more important than my studies, career, jobs... been so many years like this
Everyday in the lottery, in Las Vegas & on game shows like "The Price is Right", people are "rejected" constantly without a second thought. Love is absolutely no different. Some will win in this game. But others must lose. We cannot all win, fate won't allow it. The solution is to walk away from the toxic area, and find substitutions. The smart & the wise know this.
@@ranapratap4650 basically what happened is I met this guy and we became friends. Rejections should be offset by atleast some successes. Constantly struggling and going nowhere leaves a bigger scar in your mind. Ive lost everything career love etc and nothing makes me happy anymore. I dont have 'close friends' to hold my back either.
Love the video! So glad I found Psych2Go! What about advice for overcoming the fear of rejection? I end up choosing not to take the risk to avoid the pain of rejection, but I also self-deny potential opportunities for success.

Rejection is painful and tough to cope with, but with loving friends and family, it’s much easier. Don’t feel embarrassed or scared, just know that it’s a common thing which comes across everyone. Accept your emotions and move on. Everything happens for a reason.
I'll often ask someone with the expectation of getting rejected. If they suprise me and say yes, that's a bonus. Just steel yourself first, then the hit will be less severe. Rejection has occurred all over the world throughout history. We're not alone in the experience. My great grandfather probably experienced it. Nobody is spared of it.

Yeah exactly like why would let them back when they couldn’t see you the same when you did like them.
Me too!
Some people have called me selfish for thinking like this but damn! Letting people come back after their fun is degrading.

Agreed. The narrator here has a very warm and soothing voice.

Look at the positive part of rejection, you will not have to get rid of people in the future.
Sometimes rejection brings u closer to what ur goal by knowing what u should focus on
But not everybody who rejects you is a bad or toxic person.
@@MindNow that's true as well!
Not everyone who rejects is toxic
A guy rejected me in a romantic way. I decided to keep him as a friend. Now, he is the best friend I have ever had. He is the exact opposite of a toxic person. So, this opinion is biased by your own experiences, maybe, what do I know...
I've got too many rejections in my life.
Last year I've got a heartbreak.
And the one who I called my friend, break my trust.
My family also rejected me until I've got a little bit of success.
But watching this video just made me relax a bit from my problems.

This is sad to hear. BUT : you got this far, you'll make it through.

U to this flora, we believe in u!
True! Thank you!
We usually take it personally if the rejection was done in a hurtful way.
Jeez sorry that was a lot. Good job to whoever read that all
I read it all. im so happy it went well for you and that u are strong. sadly i was rejected early in my life and im 27 now and never been in a relationship and pretty much have given up hope in that regard. oh well thats life.

My attitude is that "if I'm not good enough for them," ... then, "they are not good enough for me, either." 😉👍

Try removing the rose colored frame & see the people who rejected you for who they really are. You may not only be turned off but even completely disgusted. Works every time 🙃
This channel has taught me SO much and has helped me significantly improve my self-esteem. I just want to say thank you.
Step one: just don't talk to anyone to begin with. You can't get rejected if you don't talk to people :]
but that’s life! rejection feels sucks for sure but that’s how you live and grow if u got rejected that’s just means that that job or project or person is simply not for you or not good for you to begin with so live and do things don’t just sit after one rejection and shut yourself from the world and amazing opportunities waiting or you :(
and sorry if my english is bad
Lmao true, im considering of shutting up since I just can’t seem to accept rejection of some sort, but then again, it’s not a healthy way of dealing with it either.

I can't not feel guilty about it. It's both drama and sadness, like I'm working to be rejected. I can't do something if not for someone or with someone.
Really enjoy these videos. Down to earth , simplified which is great.
I got rejected by my crush to be my valentine! 😥
But it's okay, I'm going to hang out with my best friends. 💖💖
Same here. 😔
Same..

My brain always causes the “turn it around effect”
It is basically that my brain causes me to loose interest in thst person, so much that within a week i wonder why I ever liked her.
This only never happened with my best friend, she rejected me 2x but I still kinda like her. But my mind tries to distract me from it by causing crushes on other girls
So yesterday i confessed to the girl that i liked for MONTHS because i saw some signs of her that she may like me but she rejected me. She was very sweet about it which i appreciated very much. Now trying to get over it but i won't be easy. Thank you so much for your advices and im so lucky that i found your channel!
I just rejected yesterday and I embrace it it’s okay to be rejected
So I have some ideas for videos. I don't know all the videos you've already made, but these are just some video topics I thought might help myself and others. I love how you explain things and I love that your videos are short and to the point.
Video ideas:
Types of rejection, types of healthy and toxic sibling relationships, how to deal with generalized anxiety thoughts/worries, types of unhealthy coping, difference between panic attacks and panic disorder, difference between social anxiety, social phobia, and agoraphobia, healthy coping skills and how to do them, how to stop intrusive/irrational thoughts/thinking, ways you can help someone you worry/care about, how to deal with stress and test anxiety, how to overcome generalized anxiety thoughts, and how to deal with social anxiety.
I have a little problem....after I get rejected or an embarrassing incident occurs, I obsess over it. I can’t stop thinking about it over and over again and I start to punish myself by not eating. 😞
Im so thankful for this channel!
Simple yet effective
Dont ask anyone out
6 months later and I still feel the rejection. It is what it is and this video (along with all your other) helped.
All I have ever been in my life is rejected, so this video didn't help much lol. The hatred I have for myself runs so deep, it can never be repaired!
Chill, I feel u...Always get rejected if i ever found someone I like no matter how many times I tried, really wish something great really great is just waiting for me out there
I just experienced through this at school 6 hours and I needed this video tysm
Here is my simple advice for whenever you get rejected…. WALK AWAY!! and don’t look back.
it can hurt but we can learn and grow from these experiances.
removing ourselfs from these situations helps alot.
within time, things get better.
I've been rejecting boys in fear they'll leave me if I let them love me 😟
And that's also me who believes love is real, but when someone really comes to ask for my hand....that feels so scary to me...It's hard to turn this off...😣
That's why I haven't actually asked any girl out yet 🙄
@@ranapratap4650 Indian? By the way...All girls aren't like me..And I still haven't found true love and also,I'm already burnt enough...
