Thanks Techno Dad!! Out of the last 5 to 8 videos I just watched, to try to understand this, ur video is the only one that helped me to understand how much power I need to power my Klipsch speakers.
The biggest problem with this is sensitivity rating seem wildly inaccurate from a lot of speaker companies. Good thing you RUclips guys are here to give the real ratings. Thanks for the video
I will never understand why anyone would give this a thumbs down. This was the best explanation & demonstration i have seen yet and one of my favorite Techno Dad videos. You mention at the end your going to do a follow up which how to decide which amp for a given speaker, did you ever get around that?
Hi Brandon, thank you so much! I'm glad you liked the video. I have not made that follow up. I guess this is a good time to do it then. Be on the look out my friend!
Congrat on your 100,000 man. It's stand with reason, this was one of your best video I've seen from you. You have some great videos in general but this time you actually hit another target of listeners,.I would say a notch above amateur audiophile. I think if you keep your videos simple and with the usual quality we are used to from you and bring-in the more advance audiophiles listeners with topics that actually interests these people you will certainly gain a broader audience in the process. Don' t get too technical but do keep your slides coming in with specs, we love that lol. Cheers Al
All hail klipsch RP sensitivity ratings. Rp6000f&500SA's coming later today. Then 2 pb 2000s later in the week. I've been on stereo bookshelves for a few weeks now while I wheel and deal to get a more appropriate setup. My first setup was whatever I could afford. This is round 2. I got some great deals over black Friday (rp500c for 289) man going from the reference aluminum tweeters to these titanium ones...theres such an unbelievable difference. I actually had the rp500c on for a few days with some older reference bookshelves, and it blew everything else away. It was like my center channel was operating on another level of clarity, and once you hear it, you need it. Anyway. Thanks man

Hi! Thanks for watching! It can be VERY confusing but at least they give us stats that we can use like speaker sensitivity. That's really the only way we will know how loud the speakers can get and how much power we need to send to them.
Can you give me the title and author and where I can get the SONG that you use in the JUMP portion of all your videos? I LOVE it and want to own load it.
I really appreciate this video it helps me understand why the sound field on different surround settings can seem really good or total junk . i am not a pro so this bit of knowledge really opens my eyes personally on how to better calibrate the output of my receiver instead of just cranking up the volume and making my receiver get hot because i lack understanding of what i expect my speakers to do thank you very much.

Thank you so much for your informative videos, I don’t really know that much about all the numbers and technical information for home theater systems but I really learn a lot every time I watch your videos. Subscribed and following your channel, please keep up the good work!
Techno Dad love the way you use slides to present the information it makes it so easier to comprehend and to follow up step by step as you explain. You're a true Professor! Keep up the good work brother. 😀
Hi TD I have a couple of questions for you about my pre amp mixer and my denon avr 687 receiver.. first is that particular receiver doesn't have a phono but the way I have it hooked up now seems to work but I'm not really understanding how. Than my 2nd question is cause of the way I have it hooked up how to figure out how much each channel on the reciver is actually pushing. Now as far as my hook up phone jack plug going to aux plug into preamp ch. Than from output aux on preamp into receiver aux plug section called ext. In section has a white box around these aux ports and in that section the plugs from preamp plug into port call FR/FL. If u still r following me here I know that kinda complicated to follow.. I also forgot to mention that on the pre amp there r 2 sets of aux plugs for each channel (3) plus 2 sets of aux outputs plus little buttons per ch on preamp for line/phono line and as far as I'm concerned doesn't matter what one of the two ch line aux I have it pluged into as long as I also have to button in the correct we call it mode for now. Than the speaker r connected through the reciver speaker ports. hope I here back from u. u can respond here or pm if u like thanks for tour time and hopefully help I'm able to send pics if needed to.
Great video! I have the same speaker setup and knew the klipsch had a high sensitivity rating but didn’t really have clue what that meant. Can’t wait for the next video.
Now I understand this, but then I question what's the volume setting we set to hit that 88db or 98 db? My yamaha avr usually have this negative setting and i usually listen at -30db
Sorry to dig an old post. But ML spec sheet threw a wrench in what I learned here. My specs are listed at 94db@2.83 volts per 1 meter. Not the usual 1/1 ratio. So at 10ft. How would I compute this?
How many electrical circuits did you use for your theater room? I'm in the middle of constructing theater room and trying to figure out how many circuits I need. The room will have 11.4.2 denon. Projector 6 power seats. I'm planning on 2 circuits using 12 guage wire on 20 amp breakers. Will this be enough?
Hi bro, I'm first time building a speaker on my own. I have 100w 2.0 Apm that will power 50w/channel. for 3 way crossover i chosen: woofer - 40w mids - 15w tweeter - 15w all are 8ohms (i have option to go for 4ohms) What do you think, in total 60w for speakers is too much or how should i choose mids and tweeter power?
Hi, I am trying to learn about home audio. I am not into the home theater scenery, I just like 2 channel audio. I recently bought 2 crowns Xls 1002, and I am waiting for my preamp(saga+ from Schiit’s, equalizer(Art EQ355 Dual-Channel 31-Band Graphic Equalizer, a tuner(Yamaha T-S500 AM/FM tuner and DAC(MODIUS by Schiit’s)BALANCED DAC. As you can see I have been taking suggestions by many audiophiles and I came up with this setup according to my liking and budget. but I have no idea what I am doing. I am trying to figure out how I am going to put all this together once I get all my items. I have an idea how to start but I can understand how I am going to connect the 4 speakers to the 2 crowns amps each amp has outputs for 2 speakers. I have 1 pair of Klipsch 600, 125watts RMS bookshelves speakers and 1 pair of Klipsch 51, 85 watts RMS bookshelf speakers and I have no idea what I am going to do. I have been thinking to connect 1 Klipsch 600 and Klipsch 51 to one channel and the same to the other what do you think any suggestion will be most appreciated thanks.
Great video.... I have 4 Klipsch AW-650 speakers i just purchased for a large outdoor pool area. I have not purchased stereo/amp yet, I was looking at the Pyle PD1000BT 4-channel amp receiver 200 watts x 2 @ 8 Ohms or the Plye PD3000BT 4-Channel amp receiver 300 watts x 2 @ 8 Ohms. I would appreciate any input, help or recommendations.
Hi. If we are to follow the decibel charts then anything above 70 dB is noticeably loud. Like alarm clocks, construction noise, and vacuum cleaners. The Denon AVR-x2700H supposedly uses 95w at 8 ohms (for 2-channel driven speakers). In a small room environment, wouldn't the listener need little wattage to hear if seated at 2 meters minimum? Given that I'll be setting up my first hi-fi system in an open plan space, I'm sure my housemates and neighbors will hear it if I push to 90 dB. I don't get why some reviews say some A/V receivers offer little power if it doesn't take much to fill in a small room. How big do audiophiles prefer their spaces to be?
Well you definitely want want to hear my set up its hits 138 dB at the couch if you go in the kitchen you can hear the plumbing rattling in the walls but that's the way I like I have a separate breaker for each of my 15" subwoofers.
Oh I have no doubt, sir. It sounds (pun intended) like quite an impressive setup. I love mine as well, and the loudest I have gotten up to was only a measly, puny little 112 dBs lol. I couldn't take that much sound for more than a few seconds...was watching War of the Worlds, tripod emergence sequence.
Hey that was a good video got a question to ask you if you be able to help us out. Our Pioneer av receiver has stopped working so have decided to buy a yamaha receiver around $800. Now our local store has recommended that we buy new speakers, our old speakers are 15 years old. But to me they Still Sound perfect they were quite expensive back then, around the $1700. Do I need to get new speakers or they just trying to get extra coin out of us. Running 2 towers, 2 book shelf, center and power sub 5.1. Thanks
Very nice info thanks, i just returned my Klipsch 820Fs. I replaced them with KEF Q750, these are paired with Def Techs. Rears are BPX, Sides are BP7006s. Center is CLR 3000, and towers are now KEF Q750 towers. All powered by Denon 2600H receiver. Very happy now, would you recommend a second amp to power the towers separate? I have two extra amps not being used
I am considering buying the Elac uni- fi 2 un52 speakers. Can you help me select a good AV receiver and subwoofer to match these speakers. I am looking for a 2.1 system. My room is 5m x 7m x3m height.
My old LG LFS-U850 speakers (only paid $5 for them at goodwill) have an SPL of 82db ( they're rated at 160w 6ohm), my Micca MB42X has a sensitivity of 88DB ( rated at 75w 4-8ohm).
Thanks for this video Channa, I thought I was going to blow up my fuse if I get a outlaw 7000x to power up my front left, right and center high sensitivity klipsch speakers using the biamp method...
If you had too choose between Denon or Marantz, in the high end range, witch one would you choose for sound quality, with the Klipsch speakers you have ? Thanks
excellent video, I would like you to give me your opinion. I have a pair of klipsch r-15M and a central r-52c connected to my onkyo tx nr575 but I feel that it lacks power, according to onkyo specs it has 80 w per channel to 8 ohms but the specifications of the klipsch are higher. So I need an amp with more power per channel? 100w at least?
Awesome video ... for this reason, I just bought a 2019 Marantz AVR with rated 50 watt (page 10 of manual says 70 x 7 channels and does not mention ohms). Anyway, I found that indeed, 50 or 70 watts was plenty of power to hit the same volume as I had with my 90 watt/ch Yamaha. My speakers are 90db sensitivity in-walls. Let me see if I can understand this a little more: in your case, you get 99db @ 1 meter and lose about 3db per meter beyond that for the same wattage at the couch. I wonder what wattage it was to get those numbers? Was it 1 watt @ 1 meter, 2 watts @ 2 meters, and approximately 4 watts at the couch? I'm thinking you would have to double the wattage for every meter you are beyond the speaker ... 3 meters away so double wattage twice. I am thinking in terms of how much wattage needs to be applied - and sound intensity is what I'm after. By this then, if you double the distance (1 meter to 2 meters) then you cut the sound intensity to 93db at the microphone and at 3 meters it should about 89db at the couch with the same applied wattage of 1. To get from 89db up to 92db at the couch you would need to double the power to 2 watts, up to 95db would be 4 watts, 98db would be 16 watts, and 101db at the couch would be 256 watts. 101db to 105db sounds about right - I really like the empirical measurements you took with the meter. In real life, a quality 50 watt or 70 watt is plenty of power - the more would give more headroom, but my rule is in lower watts, go with quality watts. Thanks for the vid!
Excellent video, I never knew the sensitivity rating but I quickly started looking at them...Elac vs Martin Logan where it’s 85/86 vs 92. Still it seems for small rooms/dens you probably can cut a few corners and be fine with a set of Elac B6.2 as an example.
This is so interesting. Im about to get the klipsch 8000f. And i sit about 12 feet away from screen. At a really loud point ive measured 85db listening level creeping to 90db. Im running a yamaha rx660 which measures 80w 8 ohms 20/20 2 channel Driven. Except of course im running it at 5.1 so i have no idea the 5.1 power output. Going back the klipsch am i correct in assuming all i need is 2 to 4 watts to run the klipsch st 85db max?
thanks for this video I save my dollar dollar buying a new amp..I just got Paradigm Prestige 85F and Im using my old amp thats push "85w" per channel Pionner Elite SX-S30 I love how it sound and they go pretty loud on 80% volume which I dont really do on regular basis..But im on the market on buying a new amp and I came across with your video. I guess I dont need it anymore..
The higher wattage of an amplifier mainly comes into play at the peak volume of the musical piece. I have fairly low efficiency speaker in the AR-3a model. It will handle 11 watts rms continuously an any frequency, 23 watts for 30 seconds, and overloads of 400 watts for 2 seconds. These are pure sine waves. The manufacturer recommends a minimum of 25 watts to operate these speakers. I power these with a Marantz model 250M power amplifier, so there is plenty of headroom.
Thank you, If you are interested the rest of the system includes the Marantz 3300 preamp, Marantz 120 AM/FM tuner, Thorens TD-125 turntable with Rabco SL-8E tone arm, Revox A-77 Open reel recorder, Advent model 100A Dolby noise reduction, Biamp stereo octave equalizer, Sony CDP-302 CD player, a couple of HD FM radio tuners, and a couple of cassette decks. There is also a Russound Patch Bay. Most of these were purchased in the early 1970s. The CD player in 1985.
Hi could you tell me is it necessary to have all speakers to be of same wattage in a 5.1 setup. I am planning to buy 100 watts per channel output amp denon avrx2500h, old 6ohm 100watt sony front speakers, 8ohm 40 watt center speaker, 2 6ohms 40watt rear speaker all speakers from sony home theater old setup. Also which amp is better denon avrx2500h or marantz sr5013. Please reply its urgent.
Wow!!....thank you so much!....I've never known this!...nobody has ever explained it this way as I now understand! This is awesome info especially given the wattage of the receivers I'm looking at! In the past I would just look for the biggest wattage rating of any particular speaker I was buying...I know understand why it's very important to know the sensitivity.
Very instructive video however the THX value is all over the place. Let us say we have a 5 channel system with speakers of 87 db sensitivity. and placed 1m around the listener. This means that at THX continuous we need less than 5 watts to power the entire system, right? And in the case of THX peak value we need an amplifier/av receiver with 320 W of total power. And if the speakers are placed at 3m around the listener the values move to 20w continuous and ~1300 watts for THX peark value? Am I missing something?
Hi Chris. You don't necessarily want to do that because it's going to mess up the time alignment of the sound coming from each speaker to your main listening position.
Amazing information! I recently purchased this Klipsch set up to go with my VAVA 4K ULTRA SHORT THROW LASER PROJECTOR & ELITE 120 CLR SCREEN R-625FA (pair) R-34C R-51M R-120SW Now I'm in search for the best AV RECEIVER under $1000. Klipsch recommend 125W per channel & 8ohms... What recommendations would you suggest for me? Dolby Atmos is a must for me..
A techno dad I have a 500w house stereo LG OM5560, I want to add another speaker to bump what do you reccomend buying a extra bluetooth 500w speaker or 250w speaker what's safe and how do you distribute the watts I dont want to do something wrong?.
@@TechnoDad im just trying to add and buy a extra bluetooth speaker but I dont know how many watts its should be since the stereo says it puts out 500watts, dont want to go to high or to low just enough to match the other speaker
(for home application) if we use an active subwoofer will it still draw power from the amplifier and still have to formulated first or just plug it in into a pairs of the socket (back L & R maybe) since it already have it own power source??
Hi! So you plug the sub to the subwoofer pre-out on the back of the AVR, you aren't powering the sub from the AVR, it's just sending a signal through an RCA cable. The sub needs to be plugged into power. I explain all that in this video: ruclips.net/video/AkHYDvvX29A/видео.html
Hi Techno Dad, thank you very much for the video! I saw your other video about the benefits of adding an external amp. If you have high efficiency speakers, like the Klipsh in your video, and are getting 105 dB with 16 watts at your listening position, do you still need an external amp for your receiver? It seems that any midrange AVR should be able to do the job, although the power would be less than the RMS power spec for those Klipshs. I have a 5.1.2 set up with Klipsh reference speakers and a Yamaha Rx-A770, and thinking about upgrading to denon 3700h with an external amp. Any feedback would be appreaciated!!
@@TechnoDad thanks for the reply! So a floorstand rated at 87db will sound like a bookshelf rated at the same decibels? I guess not but whats the difference between bigger and smaller speakers rated the same.
I need your help. I have two rp26 klipsch towers, rp440 center, r3650wii side surround and 2 back surround and 2 atmos with 2 svs subs - so 7.2.2 Atmos Running them on marantz sr7012. I am trying to buy power amp emotiva a-5175 - do you think that is worth it for more power? Thanks!!
Hi Chana, I am from australia and I have been watching your home theatre series and I really like it. I purchased klipsch RP 6000F along with Denon AVC-X3700H for my new soon to be ready house. I am planning for 5.2.4 My room size is about 5mts height 3.4 mts width and 2.7 height. My preferred seating is at 3.5mts. 105dB THX reference level is way too high for me. I would only need 75dB at my seating position. I have few questions. As per your video do you think I would need an external amplifier? As per my calculations each speaker will need less than one watt. Is that correct? So, doI need to do the same calculations for the surround speakers as well?
Great content thank you, I would just like to understand Something which confuses me abit, I know what you mean about the efficiency of the speaker, but some people say if you driving say the klipcsh RP600m which is 100 RMS book shelf speakers, they've recommended a 50whatt or 75whatt system, should 100RMS output amp not be the best option???? Hence that's what it can take. Or the Klipsch RP-8000F being a 150w rms speaker. If only being able to get say a 120w per channel amp possibly put strain on the amp, or what's best rated. More rms output from reciver than what the speaker can take or other way around for being safe??? Is there a rule of thumb for pairing up RMS speaker sizes to RMS rated output of receivers?????
Question from a newbie. Why do avr say 145watts per channel. If u only need the say 65 watts to power m. Also how much real power is going to the speakers from the avr
Question, my speakers sound good but only after some time of playing audio. Especially the low end you can feel it after some time of playing but soon after I turn it on it's not as good. Suggestions on how to fix this or is this normal?
Are the speakers brand new? There is a theory of a break-in period. Since the drivers actually move in and out the will get better after some music is played through them.
Something that wasn't mentioned in the video was if during his test if he used only one speaker or if two or more are actually playing. That would have an impact in the readings right? Several speakers playing will sound louder than just one speaker right?
Great video, I have the same speakers as you, and I love them, I am in the market to buy a receiver, you have a Denon, to achieve your 98 d at what number did you have too put it at, so how many Watts RMS does your receiver need too be?
I have 300 watts per channel into speakers with sensitivity between 98 and 104dB and 300 Watts per channel into subwoofers with 96dB sensitivity each combined 99dB sensitivity and the corner increases that to 110 dB sensitivity.
HI ,what did you say at 6.07? what did you play your flack through or on? just got my rp280f ,and shitting myself that i need to spend more money on the extra amp cos my yamaha rx v473 might not be enought Thanks
Hi sir I got most part of your vdo, but I have one serious doubt and its bothering me a lot,so you mentioned a low sensitivity speaker will have around 88db@1w@1mtr, 91db@2w, 94db@4w, 97db@8w, 100db@16w, So the same speaker Will have 6ohm,10watt on the backside, does that mean it will produce 97-100db(lies between 8w-16w from the above chart) at 10watt at 1mtr distance.
Anyone knkw the db of the party speaker QFX PBX-8? Been trying to find but it only tells me there is a 1500 watt, and it doesnt say if that the max or not
Hi, Thank you so much for your informative videos keep going . may I have some advice about my speakers I ve just planned to change from stereo to a new 5.1.2 configuration klipsch RP600M . for right and left as for the rears , RP500C center, RP500SA for atmos and subwoofer tge SPL150 . so my question how to get get the best from those speakers since im confused about how much power do a need in a receiver or I need to add a power amplifier also . Cheers,
Ok, so...please help me justify my recent order of the Monolith 5x. I have the SVS Ultra bookshelves (87 sensitivity) that I've been running with my new Denon avr-x3400h (CLAIMING 105 watts/channel, stereo). The Monolith is 200 watts x 5. I haven't received it yet, but have been second guessing myself. Is it a good purchase, or no?
You’re gonna love it Ryan!! You’ll have more overall sound and when this big dynamic shifts occur in your movies, it’s gonna bring a big smile to your face.
@@TechnoDad Thank you! That is such a relief to hear. My Emotiva a-300 that I ordered kept getting pushed back on shipping, so I went with a 5-channel to future proof. Today, i ordered the SVS Ultra Center, so until I can add surround speakers, I'll be running a 3.1 with the Ultra Bookshelves, Center, and SB-3000. Super excited to get that amp now!
I am using the same RP speakers.. so my seating i my home theatre is approx 8 meters .. So as per ur calculation @ 125 db - 512 watts !... So do i require 500 watts per channel power amp
So if my speakers are 94db @1 watt/meter and my AVR is 70watts per channel that means I'm capable of turning the speakers up to 112db without distortion/problems? What if I went over that? Blown?

Thank you so much for your informative videos, I don’t really know that much about all the numbers and technical information for home theater systems but I really learn a lot every time I watch your videos. Subscribed and following your channel, please keep up the good work!
Hi! Thanks! I'm glad the videos have help you learn something new. Thanks for watching and subscribing!
Awesome explantion of science of sound. Well explained clean and crisp
Techno Dad love the way you use slides to present the information it makes it so easier to comprehend and to follow up step by step as you explain. You're a true Professor! Keep up the good work brother. 😀
nice video dude. internet is immersed with videos about wattage and ohm resistances but lack of sensitivity explanation, where this vid shine.
Thank you! I’m glad you found the video informative.
Ordered Yamaha 4950u 5.1 system with 110v. Going to use 220v socket. Still confused and don't know how much wattage 110v to 220v converter do I need?
This was really helpful, thank you!
FYI I’ve watched this video 5 separate times... great vid man
Thank you so much! I’m glad you like the video.
Thanks a lot, that was really informative. I have learnt a lot.
Being new to understanding home theatre you videos have helped me understand a lot ! Thank you
You're very welcome Dianna!
Hi! I'm just on one circuit. I don't have a new house or a huge system like you are describing. I think you'll be fine.
Hi bro, I'm first time building a speaker on my own. I have 100w 2.0 Apm that will power 50w/channel. for 3 way crossover i chosen:
woofer - 40w
mids - 15w
tweeter - 15w
all are 8ohms (i have option to go for 4ohms)
What do you think, in total 60w for speakers is too much or how should i choose mids and tweeter power?
Hi, I am trying to learn about home audio. I am not into the home theater scenery, I just like 2 channel audio. I recently bought 2 crowns Xls 1002, and I am waiting for my preamp(saga+ from Schiit’s, equalizer(Art EQ355 Dual-Channel 31-Band Graphic Equalizer, a tuner(Yamaha T-S500
AM/FM tuner and DAC(MODIUS by Schiit’s)BALANCED DAC.
Hi! I think that four-channel 200 watts would do the trick.
@@TechnoDad THANK YOU.
Great Video. I am now clear on the DB sensitivity rating. Do you have any video on how to match impedance on the speakers with the receivers?
The best explanation!, Thank you Techno Dad!
You're welcome!
Well you definitely want want to hear my set up its hits 138 dB at the couch if you go in the kitchen you can hear the plumbing rattling in the walls but that's the way I like I have a separate breaker for each of my 15" subwoofers.
Whoa!!!! That is earsplitting, earthshaking (literally lol), headache inducing, hearing damage loud!! Impressive.
Joshua Smith ya well its been my great setup for over 15 years and still sounds great when watching shows like game of thrones or walking dead
LOL! That's loud!
Techno Dad check this out ruclips.net/video/Rzpx1pQMDnU/видео.html jl audio Gotham are as sweet as I gets
Excellent presentation....
Keep the teaching going..u rock
Hey that was a good video got a question to ask you if you be able to help us out. Our Pioneer av receiver has stopped working so have decided to buy a yamaha receiver around $800. Now our local store has recommended that we buy new speakers, our old speakers are 15 years old. But to me they Still Sound perfect they were quite expensive back then, around the $1700. Do I need to get new speakers or they just trying to get extra coin out of us. Running 2 towers, 2 book shelf, center and power sub 5.1. Thanks
Hi! I don't think you should buy new speakers.
How to match speakers and amplifiers video? Cant find it, did you make a follow up video to this as you promised?
My old LG LFS-U850 speakers (only paid $5 for them at goodwill) have an SPL of 82db ( they're rated at 160w 6ohm), my Micca MB42X has a sensitivity of 88DB ( rated at 75w 4-8ohm).
Thanks for the info! I am currently saving and researching surround sound. Ready to upgrade from my 7.1 soundbar. Just not cutting it for me.
I totally get it! I have a whole series on Home Theater Basics you should check out: bit.ly/TDHTBS
Techno Dad thanks will do! You mind if I run my speakers and reciever through you before I buy it to get your opinion ??
Yeah, no problem! Email me: technodad55@gmail.com
Techno Dad thanks
Thanks for this video Channa, I thought I was going to blow up my fuse if I get a outlaw 7000x to power up my front left, right and center high sensitivity klipsch speakers using the biamp method...
If you had too choose between Denon or Marantz, in the high end range, witch one would you choose for sound quality, with the Klipsch speakers you have ? Thanks
I would go with a Marantz Pre/Pro and Parasound amplification
Are you talking about 7005 ? I was thinking of 7013 or 7012 , if I could get a good price on the 8012 that would make me very happy
Kindly guide yamaha best floor standing speaker ns 555 or nsf 350 for av amp yamaha rxv 585.
Hi There .. i am running onkyo Nr 656 7.1 channel with one Klipsch 440c , two r 62 f and four r51 , do i need to add power amplifier on my system.
excellent video, I would like you to give me your opinion.
Nice setup!
No, it's not necessary to match wattage. Audyssey room correction should figure it all out.
You didnot tell me which is better. Denon avr2500h or marantz sr5013
Please reply I am really confused between Denon Avrx2500h Marantz sr5013 or onkyo nr tz730. Please give a comparison or tell me which is better
Nice job breaking it down for us. Thank you!
Hello again! Glad you got some good information for my video!
@@TechnoDad yeah...lol!...I'm trying to learn as much as I can and your helping me alot!...thanks
No problem! Feel free to shoot me an email anytime: technodad55 at gmail
hi in my home theater amplifier of model panasonic SA-KA66 it shows f61 error when i on it ,,i dont know what to do ..please help me
Yep! I run klipsch reference speakers for my system
If by adjusting the distance through AVR, the higher the distance, mean more power to speakers? Meaning, 10ft setup can increase the wattage??
Thanks
Hi Chris. You don't necessarily want to do that because it's going to mess up the time alignment of the sound coming from each speaker to your main listening position.
Amazing information!
I recently purchased this Klipsch set up to go with my VAVA 4K ULTRA SHORT THROW LASER PROJECTOR & ELITE 120 CLR SCREEN
R-625FA (pair)
R-34C
R-51M
R-120SW
Now I'm in search for the best AV RECEIVER under $1000. Klipsch recommend 125W per channel & 8ohms...
What recommendations would you suggest for me? Dolby Atmos is a must for me..
Denon AVR-X3600H. I’ve made plenty of videos about it.
@@TechnoDad thank you, that's what I leaning towards, you just reassured it! Thanks again!
A techno dad I have a 500w house stereo LG OM5560, I want to add another speaker to bump what do you reccomend buying a extra bluetooth 500w speaker or 250w speaker what's safe and how do you distribute the watts I dont want to do something wrong?.
Hi! I'm not 100% sure what you're trying to do with the bluetooth speaker. Are you trying to get surround sound, or just add more speakers?
@@TechnoDad im just trying to add and buy a extra bluetooth speaker but I dont know how many watts its should be since the stereo says it puts out 500watts, dont want to go to high or to low just enough to match the other speaker
dayum! thats lot of wattage! haha thank you for the video. Im currently creating a home theatre.
Does this analogy work for woofers also?
What power amp would you recommend for a stereo pair of 87db speakers?
Very helpful video!
75 - 80 db is my comfort zone!
Hey, are bigger speakers easier to drive than small speakers or vice versa? Bigger cabinets means bigger sound?
It depends on the speaker sensitivity. Size doesn't necessarily matter.
@@TechnoDad thanks for the reply! So a floorstand rated at 87db will sound like a bookshelf rated at the same decibels? I guess not but whats the difference between bigger and smaller speakers rated the same.
I need your help.
I have two rp26 klipsch towers, rp440 center, r3650wii side surround and 2 back surround and 2 atmos with 2 svs subs - so 7.2.2 Atmos
Running them on marantz sr7012. I am trying to buy power amp emotiva a-5175 - do you think that is worth it for more power?
Thanks!!
Just awesomely explained .
Glad you liked it!
What is the power consumption of a samsung q800c Soundbar? nomral use
So basically denon 2600 watt rating 95 driven 2ch can powered up klipsch front speaker rf-820f 150w 96db sens for just listening 85db ?
New to your channel. Like the breakdown you do
Welcome aboard! Thank you so much!
Nice video sir ...... How many watt home theatre sufficient for 15×17 Ft leaving room ,..plz reply I am waiting
I don’t know, maybe between 80 and 110?
Question, my speakers sound good but only after some time of playing audio. Especially the low end you can feel it after some time of playing but soon after I turn it on it's not as good. Suggestions on how to fix this or is this normal?
Are the speakers brand new? There is a theory of a break-in period. Since the drivers actually move in and out the will get better after some music is played through them.
Something that wasn't mentioned in the video was if during his test if he used only one speaker or if two or more are actually playing. That would have an impact in the readings right? Several speakers playing will sound louder than just one speaker right?
Hi I have av receiver pioneer vsx-1131 7.2 channel please can you give me advice how many watts subwoofer I use
Hi! It should depend more on your room. What size room do you have? Cubic foot number is what I'm looking for, L x W x H.
12/12 feet’s
Probably a 12" sub with around 300 watts RMS.
Great video, I have the same speakers as you, and I love them, I am in the market to buy a receiver, you have a Denon, to achieve your 98 d at what number did you have too put it at, so how many Watts RMS does your receiver need too be?
That’s tough to say. I use a Denon avr but I have a power amp to run the speakers.
I have 300 watts per channel into speakers with sensitivity between 98 and 104dB and 300 Watts per channel into subwoofers with 96dB sensitivity each combined 99dB sensitivity and the corner increases that to 110 dB sensitivity.
HI ,what did you say at 6.07?
what did you play your flack through or on?
just got my rp280f ,and shitting myself that i need to spend more money on the extra amp cos my yamaha rx v473 might not be enought
Thanks
Incredible information here! Taught me a lot!
Awesome! Thank you for letting me know!
Hi sir I got most part of your vdo, but I have one serious doubt and its bothering me a lot,so you mentioned a low sensitivity speaker will have around 88db@1w@1mtr,
91db@2w,
94db@4w,
97db@8w,
100db@16w,
So the same speaker Will have 6ohm,10watt on the backside, does that mean it will produce 97-100db(lies between 8w-16w from the above chart) at 10watt at 1mtr distance.
Cheers,
Can be Active Studio Monitors(MAckie RX8) used in 5.1 Home Theater as a x2 ACTIVE SUBWOOFERS ?
That's a great question. My cousin tried to do that with a Marantz and some studio monitors but he said it wasn't working out well.
Hi Paul, THX reference is 105db peak, and a continuous value of 85db. So, probably not 500, maybe 250.
Very very helpful info. As per ur say we need good sensitivity speaker than a high power receiver or amp.
So if my speakers are 94db @1 watt/meter and my AVR is 70watts per channel that means I'm capable of turning the speakers up to 112db without distortion/problems? What if I went over that? Blown?
