  • We live in the golden age of media with access to hundreds of different sources of entertainment at our fingertips. Due to this, it's so easy for quality to follow through the cracks and be forgotten about. I'm here to find it for you.
Chuck has been apart of my heart since the moment it aired. It's a shame it drifted into obscurity and fought desperately to stay on the air. Hope you take the recommendation and give this show a try.
Any suggestions for future episodes? Comment below and let me know!
I do not own these clips. All the clips were ripped off various RUclips clips

Yes that is quite sad, but it might've upped the energy and synergy to get them to a point where it was all or nothing. And it's done. It's amazing how it is. Nobody should ever resurrect this show. Leave it be and admire it's genius.

Not only is Chuck one of my favorite shows ever but if anyone were to ever ask me what I think the perfect show is I would say Chuck not only does it have action but has comedy, drama and romance mixed perfectly together the characters where all lovable even the bad guys they took their time with character development so it doesn't just seem like character's motives changed on a whim the music was amazing and Chuck and Sarah are one of the best couples to grace any screen I'm not lying if I could have a love like theirs one day I would die happy Chuck needs to be recognized for the amazing show that it is and I need that Chuck movie ASAP

One of the best shows I've watched. Quite a lot of very decent cameos/guest appearances too. Probably the most surprising of those for me is the episode where Paulie Walnuts from The Sopranos shows up!
The level of eye-candy on the show was generally pretty stellar, too!

You forgot to mention the amazing music! Together with the cast that gives the show so much replay value. The Office US is my all time fav, but Chuck is a perfect runner up!
"I know I get super cranky under 9 hours of sleep." "You already have perfect hair to chew on". "Do you find them imposing? I was going for imposing?" "What do you mean no ring came up in the inventory?" Just some of my favorite lines.

Loved this show. I always thought of it as a Pink Panther/Get Smart kinda vibe.
What was crazy was the show within a show. Sometimes the story line at the Buy More was more interesting than the spy escapades. The Thunder Dome, Fight Club, etc. I think they could have
I remember the Subway tie-ins as well as they kept the show going.
And a great ending that took us back to where it started.

I mean it was a great show I just thought one thing was kinda dumb. They started giving the intersect to everyone all the time. It seemed like at one point they were even gonna make it specific to chuck. Like he would be the only one who could download it into his head. Then they went around just removing it and throwing it 100 places. Which led to the super stupid memory wipe stuff at the end. The plot got a little muddy towards the end from what I half remember and it seemed like it was a bit poorly written. Great concept though and great show.

Sort of funny. I would compare Chuck to a mix between the Office and Burn Notice. More heavy on the Office style humor. It did fall flat some times, especially in later seasons. Though I think part of that problem came with the showing being in the cancellation zone so many times.

I just started the show the other week and am halfway through season 3 currently. I love Chuck. But I don't care for Sarah and I really hate the will they-won't they constantly. It's a trope that instantly pisses me off in a LOT of shows and is what has turned me away from the Flash, Scorpion, and Psych. I get that it's a staple of comedies and drama shows but PLEASE can we stop having it be the focal point all the time. it's always some smart well meaning guy (if not a bit of a doofus) who winds up letting their emotions get in the way of anything professional and inevitable embarrassing themselves and ruining the job/mission then having a last minute epiphany after talking to their will they-won't they love interest that winds up saving the day. Please, I am so done with this trope, can we please stop.
I love the plot of the show and how it all unfolds I just really hate Sarah constantly manipulating Chuck then backing out when things get emotional. I mean that's against her as a character but it also makes the will they-won't they drama KEEP GOING because Chuck keeps breaking up with her because he can't see a future together/she's manipulating him/he wants a real relationship with someone and then a couple episodes later (or even the same episode) trying to win her back/talking to her/suddenly can't perform any tasks until he's talked to her. And I get it, he's supposed to be this emotional liability and grow into professionalism but hold onto his emotional roots but please, I am so done with this trope and it really ruins shows for me pretty quickly once it starts becoming the focus because I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN. I know there's going to be a misunderstanding, just when they get together something is going to happen and they can't, the guy makes a big fool out of himself to get the girl, ruins the job, has to fix it, etc. I GET IT. Shows have done this so often it's honestly a big eye roll for me and I just am sick of suffering through it. I want to just fastforward through the romance subplots now because it's a story I KEEP HEARING OVER AND OVER.
That's not to say I don't love the show, I do. But it makes Sarah look like a manipulative bitch, Chuck like a guy who can't ever move on even when he states what he's feeling and why he can't be with her, can't keep pretending with her, etc; makes Casey annoying with his constant nagging/teasing of Chuck whenever Sarah is in the field with another man. It's constant jealousy, all the time, constant screw ups, constant back and forth... no one ever learns anything and changes until the plot suddenly says "hey why not be together" and then it's all relationship drama. Which I will take over back and forth always and forever.
This happens in Psych. Constant embarrassment/chasing the girl/can't be with her/let her go/hey I'm jealous AF why are you talking to this guy what's he got that I don't/I need to win her back until they finally get together multiple seasons into the show. That's at least like 4 years of suffering through that stupid back and forth phase of constantly used tropes and knowing every little plotline that will come with that subplot. And it kills shows for me.
Scorpion, same thing, until like the final season when they are a couple and it's stupid relationship drama constantly. I get it, drama makes a show, I really do, but when I can guess the ENTIRE subplot through an entire season (and multiple seasons, sometimes through to the end) then we have a real problem.
The Flash - I know in the comics he's with Iris but I never liked them together in the show. Mainly because of the constant 'hey I love you but you're with someone else so I'm going to be jealous this whole entire time and make a fool of myself for you' but hey, it was done pretty well here. It's not the reason I quit the show and it only lasted like 2 seasons with his blessedly short, you have no freaking idea. So I could give the Flash a pass; I stopped watching for a different trope entirely because I knew what the subplot would be YET AGAIN and just did not want to waste time on it.
Burn Notice, I didn't mind it too much but it did get annoying. Thankfully Michael was never really the aggro jealous type and was more in control of his own life, wasn't a doofus like in other shows, etc. So he handled himself more professionally and honestly that was a breath of fresh air. I got sick of the back and forth all the time (because, like with all these shows, you know in the end they're going to end up together) but it didn't hit a nerve and make me quit the show like others. Plus, well, Burn Notice is just great and I like all the characters separately so I'll deal with Fi and Michael's drama.
My thing is. I'm a writer and an avid reader. I can spot these overused tropes a mile away and I know how it's going to play out because I've read it so much. It's in pretty much every genre because romance is a safe subplot. If these tropes are done correctly, they can really work. Nothing is new, everything has been done in the past so you could say everything is a trope --- just please make something new out of it. Do it creatively. Please stop having these same subplots that are pretty much the same in every single show. Put a spin on it. Surprise me. I just want to not know where it's going so I can actually enjoy it and not have to constantly roll my eyes.
Also, you don't have to rely on stupid will they/won't they drama. The couple can get together right from the start and experience things as a team and see how that changes them/brings them together/pulls them apart like a real couple. The guy CAN get the girl by the end of the first season and the show can still keep going with that subplot in the background constantly.
So of these shows I think Burn Notice would be the best. And that's purely because of Michael and his personality/professionalism. If he'd been like any of these other characters (a smart, well-meaning doofus) then Burn Notice would have had the same issues, the same cringe and embarrassment and eye rolling moments. It still has those moments, but thankfully they are for shorter subplots and not constantly in your face.
I'm rambling and I'm sorry, I am just so tired of this romance trope. So hearing the will they/won't they subplot praised for Chuck just... no. It's super bad in Chuck. It's actively made me hate Sarah as a character because of her constant manipulations and drama all because of the 'will they-won't they' trope. Of course, Sarah is super manipulative anyway on her own, and I get it, that's her character, but it does make me not ever want to root for this relationship. She's telling him he needs to be more professional even though he didn't want this life, which leads to him becoming more professional, and says they can be together if he becomes a spy, so he aspires to do that----then she doesn't want him because he's changed like she hasn't been pushing him to do that the entire time. And I get it, that's drama, whatever, but it really weakens her as a character for me, makes me not want to see them together, so then that subplot of will they/won't they? It feels forced and in my face every two seconds because I just do not want them together, I do not care about their relationship, I do not care to keep wasting time every episode and have the same cliches happen over and over every episode because of their romantic drama.
Can we please find something new. Or at least put a spin on it so it's not the exact same beats every time in every show so I know the subplot like I read the script.
That being said----again, I love Chuck. I like the side characters (excluding Sarah) and the other subplots. Chuck is a lovable doofus and he's come a long way. I just wish he'd stop this toxic and overused cycle.
